I've been using one quart jar (also from Ultimate). As I eat the yogurt, the liquid whey separates, so I save the liquid for the next batch until I have about 4 ounces (some of the yogurt is also saved). After mixing in the inulin (or you can use potato starch), add in the saved whey/yogurt and the milk is ready.
How did you sterilize your lids because I don't want the plastic lids to break down by boiling ? What do u think about filling with pre-heated water and preheated half and half to 104 degees ? n I am impressed your first batch had Zero separation in it ~! GoAskKit Kit
Thank you for your questions! I did sterilize my lids for the first few batches using boiling water, but only left them in the boiling water for a few seconds, then took them out. Since then, I have only been washing them with hot water and mild detergent and not worrying about sterilizing. I've had no problem with my batches. I'm not sure what you mean by filling with pre-heated water and pre-heated half and half...you'll need to explain.
@@rhodesaz I was thinking I would mix my half and half with it at 100 degrees instead of cold. Also adding 100 degree water to my Ultimate yogurt machine as well. What do you think? Kit
@@rhodesaz made my own video because my method works so well 100 percent of the time : tested by three users ~! th-cam.com/video/o7zR7x9I8Fs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for that tip, I'm waiting on mine.
Well done! You made it look easy.
Thanks so much for the complete demonstration and link to the products you used. Very helpful.
I plan to pre-heat my half&half to 100 degrees before I mix Dr Davis formula so it will mix better and start fomenting right away
Great demo ~!
Great video

So.. how do you make the next batch? Just add a couple of spoonfuls of yoghurt to the organic milk or do you need to add anything else?

@@GoAskKit You can do that, but it's just additional work you don't need to do. Let me know how it works out.

I fill the jars after I put them into the Ultimate
That'll work. I don't because of my arthritis...it's harder for me to put the lids on when they are in the Ultimate.
Avoid using plastic bowls. You’re mixing in microplastics. 🙏
It is a silicone bowl.
