that gaben never cared about counter-strike in general is not news for anyone, but i really think the main problem with cs2 is that it seems that now not even a single dev cares too, and with the early development of deadlock getting that much attention, it only makes it worse

The day valve releases ANY more content than a single line of text on a patch note will be the day. The only way to force them to care even remotely is for all players to stop buying skins and opening cases, since we know cs feeds ALL of valves projects.

If you remember, the release date of CS2 was actually supposed to be summer 2023, but they still pushed it to the September deadline, so I don't think they will celebrate this day in the future.

it's really no surprise that deadlock is getting more attention its a much more vast game requiring a lot more devs on it.

Valve is a very small team of devs. There's like less than 200 employees that are into game development. Split that with how many are doing artwork, audio, design, ect and you start to realize that it's an issue of not having a big enough team to tackle these games. Not that they don't necessarily care about them. They just need to hire more.
