I met Sasha at an event and spoke to him, didn't know who he was, which was actually very cool, because at no point did he flex, just a nice car guy. I wish him every success. I'm doing something similar with s600 engine and a 6 speed manual. Love the easter eggs hidden in this car!
lol we've seen like 1000 different variatoins of some v12 manual no screens overpriced hypercar blah blah blah at this point its hardly anything special
While I appreciate simplicity, super cars have zero rearward visibility, and side mirrors aren't that helpful. Having cameras and a screen for those functions is necessary. Especially is in a busy city centre and if you need to park in a public space.
As an artist designer in the car industry, making a name that will be known for years and not be forgotten or lost in a big car company can only be done by creating a car from a to z on his own with no restrictions. Enzo, Ferrucio, Gordon, Horatio, Christian,... Didn't know Sasha worked on the Koenigsegg or Bugatti. Now I will remember he did the Nilu. Hope his project will go through and be successful. Who was saying V12 atmo is a dying breed lol?
Turns out the V10 became a dying breed (even though it was a rare one to begin with and perhaps one the most recent powertrain that became relevant) meanwhile the V12 is seeing tons of projects and new startup cars boasting it, like a counter revolution movement against the electrification push.
Salute to Sasha for being a pure enthusiast. I can see why he had so many friends in higher up places and the right backers to fulfill his dream. Sometimes, you'll see people that deserve it. He's genuinely passionate. I cant imagine the kind of money it takes to find R&D and design such a bespoke ground up project from a start-up into fruition.
Absolutely stunning. The glass cabin gives a Pininfarina P4/5 vibe, the NACA duct gives a Countach vibe, the wheels and the shifter gives a Ken Block vibe, the engine/exhaust packaging gives a 60s Formula 1 vibe. What other influences do ya'll see?
Now without having seen it actually drive, it’s certainly one of the best looking cars if not best looking cars to have ever been made. Hopefully it lives up to how it looks and the supposed specs bc this thing is truly amazing with all those racing cues which you have nicely pointed out! I’m a really picky person when it comes to liking cars but Shasha and co really just hit every aspect perfectly basically making what every driver wants in a car.
GT 40 crazy snakes and tube frame glances from the rear 6:59 , and a bit of C3 'vette front end and arches shape ( 5:07 distorted by the gaping vents lol) so a lot of late 60's/early '70s motor sport actually, even the naca ducts are around from then. I love this car, being a product of that era too lol but it is wildly futuristic at the same glance.
@cliveargyle5237 it means kiwis are doing well and hard work pays. I was congratulating our countryman on their engine build. They are making headway into the super car arena. A great achievement for a small company from a small country to small-minded person such as yourself.
I love how he is able to explain the exact purpose of every decision on this car, really shows how much this means to him, that guy seems like an absolute legend
I really like Sasha's entire ethos with this car. Keeping it all about the driver's experience behind the wheel, with nothing inhibiting them from getting the most out if it relative to their skill set. I also like how familiar and unique the design is at the same time. We can see the influences, but Sasha put his twist on it to make it look & feel fresh. You can also feel his passion for the car. The "labor of love" if you will. Very reminiscent of listening to the likes of Christian von Koenigsegg and Gordon Murray talk about their cars. Guys that want to keep the emotional side alive in these cars. He built an incredible machine!
I love this SOOOO much! It all made sense to me when I found out that Sasha designed the Huracan. Am on the lookout for this thing actually driving, can’t wait. I really hope these guys are successful.
Looks beautiful, love the lines. How these people can make something new that has both classic lines but also a modern twist whilst still making everything look like it is meant to be that way simply astounds me. Nilu 27 is a strange name but i bet it will be one that grows on us all.
Shmee150 Absolutely Incredible Video I think the All New Nilu27 looks absolutely incredible and I think it's awesome that Sasha and Nelson told everything about it and I hope you'll get a chance to drive one someday
Wow. I love each and every detail. Supercool car. 😊👍Salute to Sasha for creating this car. I hope Shmee gets to drive NILU27 in the future and share his crisp opinion. Awesome wholesome video Shmee. Cheeeers 👍
I really enjoyed this video. I love the design of the Nilu27, I love that it has a manual gearbox and the exposed exhaust pipes reminding me of the old F1 cars with a nice and nostalgic smile, I'm looking forward to hearing how it sounds
Might be my new favourite car! I felt like the automotive industry has been lacking cars that center around the driver and offer an analog driving experience so its really exciting that Sasha is able to bring back this type of car back into the world!
Love everything about it. I'll never own one, but damn it's a real sports car. Who doesn't like that. Can't wait for the drive reviews. Well done as always Tim, high fives for the whole crew.
A car that would take me back to my early driving years, the cars I drove to start had no booster on the brakes no power steering no computers yet we drove them all year round and controlled the power with our feet.
Now that's a car!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 That's badass. No video games with that one.. That's ultra sick!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 That's exactly what I don't like about new cars, they don't convey the driving experience or how the car is feeling the road.. especially through the steering wheel.. Electric steering sucks...
All of us sim racers and dreamers of Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo will be waiting in anticipation, I am definitely one, beautiful car made the way they should be, raw and exhilarating to drive, envious of those that get to experience it in the flesh physically and an engine from a part of New Zealand where I live is meke as, we pride ourselves on our ingenuity, kiwi ingenuity at its best on the worlds stage, we have a saying "WORLD FAMOUS IN NEW ZEALAND!!"
4:06 love that he said it has Ken block influences. The aero shows and the styling of the interior, wheels and little things. As they said just ain’t care, Ken blocks F* it attitude shows. I don’t think he truly understood how much influence he had.
For a first car this is a tremendous effort inside and out. The front has a good look , the side profile and wheels are pure racer but it's the back (tail- lights , exhaust , shapes ) reminds me of a cartoon character face...1070hp v12 , manual , even the interior is tasteful......Decent !
I wish it had some kind of color instead of all white. Maybe a satin matte color similar to what an f35 and the rims could be satin smoky bronze/gold color and then red calipers that match the interior. Edit* i also feel the white wall on tires could be the same red color of the interior.
I appreciate this guy very much. He brought back a lost hope of a world in which drivers and cars still have a close relationship. This is a person that loves his job so much that the result will be equally loved by the rest of the world. A V12, rear wheel driven, naturally aspirated hypercar with a manual transmission AND analogic gauge cluster in 2024 is a dream coming true for me 🥹
That is the best car I have seen and everything about it from the name to the engine bravo that to me is the best car to be unveiled in heck I would say the F40 in terms of raw and radical
Lovely looking car , but personally for me i would have chosen another colour it doesn't really flatter the car .. love the rear cut out for the engine, but personally i would have had the engine under a clear glass or plastic cover so you could see it and it kept the dirt and road mess off it.
Love everything about this except those funny little hinge clips on the roof. I get they're to do with safety, but it's hard to believe that's the most elegant solution they could come up with.
Sasha Whoiveknownnformanyyears is a weird name. Is it Swedish?
I see what you did there 🤣🤣
Could be, we may never know!

Best comment.

Manual gearbox and no stupid screens everywhere, this guy knows how to build a car!
His analogy with not wanting more calories, since we're full, but rather want a good experience or quality was quite wise and clear minded.
lol we've seen like 1000 different variatoins of some v12 manual no screens overpriced hypercar blah blah blah at this point its hardly anything special

Same stupid talking point from fools that can't afford the damn car

Who was saying V12 atmo is a dying breed lol?
Clarkson back in 09 I I believe it was, stating that the Aventador would probably be the last V12 supercar lol
did hurracan also
Turns out the V10 became a dying breed (even though it was a rare one to begin with and perhaps one the most recent powertrain that became relevant) meanwhile the V12 is seeing tons of projects and new startup cars boasting it, like a counter revolution movement against the electrification push.
Looks like an unlicensed supercar out of GTA. A lot of inspiration from various cars. Especially in the rear. Engine bay is a work of art though.
engine bay looks like it came straight out of 60s era F1, nothing can rival the degree of insanity this side of group b.
He designed those cars you speak of.
With the engine bay quite open and red interior, plus bubble like canopy, screams Peugeot Quasar from the 80s

Awesome and great shout out to Nelson for one of his incredibly built engines. Love the pure and uncluttered design. Cheers from New Zealand

The back gives my a Pagani vibe. Very nice looking car the rest needs to be determined though. Hopefully it’s as badass as it looks.
Leaving Koenigsegg is a big deal! But Sasha has one of the best CVs out there!🔥

Always classy videos from this channel. Thanks Tim!

Hartley Engineering based in Palmerston North ❤
It’s difficult to put into words the beauty of this amazing car other than to say poetry in motion.
Stark white is so bold but it works fantastically.
it is BEAUTIFUL, and the white on white looks like something made out of ceramic, i love it it is so beautiful
Thank you Tim for this fantastic video!
I've seen uploads of this car in the past couple of days. But I was waiting for your video to drop. Great video.

Love the retro futuristic design. He's got this absolutely spot on. 👌
New dream car right here
They are going to like the product %100! I’ll take two!
Love the brake caliper shapes and sculpture.
I'm immediately in love lol
V12 plus three pedals = joy
Agreed, driver experience and engagement is more important than hp numbers
😎👍
Amazing achievement 👏🙌👏
He sounds like Gordon Murray when he talks about the driver experience first. We need more cars like this.
Just an absolutely beautiful machine. I do hope the road version has headlights. I think the front end would look better with them.
Respect a man who works hard to follow up his dream. Even better with the wife along for that dream. Great stuff.
that would be my lotto win selection, looks incredible and the genius behind it seems like a decent down to earth guy.
less tech = more fun
This is really fantastic. He and his team should feel proud.
I'm not usually the biggest fan of random start up hypercars etc but that thing looks really good.
This guy is a real car guy. It's a masterpiece
He speaks like a natural leader and entrepreneur. He will go far.
Those seats! 🔥
Perfect timing...kudos to the builder..seeing this beauty made me excited...performance cars have been so boring past 10 years....nilu is exciting
