    Enjoyed the video and shared it with a friend of mine that convinced me to fish for Walleye 4 or 5 years ago. We go to Banks each May and I usually out fish him. He usually complains that I let the rig hit the bottom and says it stirs up mud and scares the fish and causes hang ups. Heard that for a couple years then finally asked him, if that is the case, why is it called a "bottom bouncer"? Your video cleared that up and I learned about the weight/depth from you. Heading to Banks in about a month to spend a few days with him and his wife, will be paying attention to the information you provided. Old man learning new things. Thank You.

    New subscriber here, catching up on some of your videos. I troll for walleye in my Hobie PA12 on smallish lakes in Ontario, Canada using bottom bouncers and worm rigs just like you've shown. It's a super productive method especially with a line counter reel, I use the Abu Garcia Max DLC paired with a St. Croix 7'6" Eyecon rod. In Aug when the fish are a bit spooky and have seen some pressure, I will switch to using 3 or 4 large split shot and let more line out to get down to where the fish are. It's not exactly "finesse" fishing but I rarely get skunked. Thanks for the great content!!

    I am a newbee to Walleye. Scheduled to fish Walleye in upper lake Roosevelt second week in August, 2020. Looking to tie my own Walleye spinner rigs. What test leader, size and color Smile blade, hook type and size for double hook spinner and slow death hook should I purchase? What color and size of beads?

    Thanks again for the great video Tyler.
    Do you have a go to color(s), for the spinner rigs?

    What direction do you troll with crankbaits and spinner rigs? Upstream or downstream?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cranks upstream. Spinners downstream

      Either 10 lb mono or 20 or 30 lb braid works too

    Think a kokanee rod would work okay for trolling for walleyes? or would a bass rod or something along the lines of that be better

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I use them for walleye trolling all the time

    Are spinners the only feasible thing to troll with bouncers? Would something like a floating rapala work even with the slow troll speeds needed?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Floating Rapalas and even small unweighted swim baits also work

    Awesome video! Is the trolling speed based on actual GPS speed or water speed? I'm looking to fish the columbia, which obviously has the current and I'm wondering if I need to take that into account?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GPS speed but if fishing in current take into consideration current speed.

    Where are good walleye spots in the Vancouver area?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Multnomah Channel near Coon Island is consistent in July and August. I've heard the Ough Reef in front of Camas can hold them as well. Mouth of the Deschutes is probably a better bet.

      Depends on where you are fishing. I catch walleye from 10 to over 100' deep depending on the lake and day
