Couple notable cards you guys didn't mention. Retraced Image, 1 mana Ramp spell in blue. Fumble. Meta dependant, but great way to steal your opponent's SoF&F, skullclamp, etc. Paired with Arcane Lighthouse and you can steal lightning greaves, swiftfoot boots, whispersilk cloak, etc. Also can protect your own creature in voltron, while moving any equipment aura to another creature
I have Faerie Artisans in my Yarok deck, whats fun is that when a enemy plays a creature, faerie artisans gets doubble triggerd and makes me two creatures tokens, then, if that creature had a ETB effect, those get doubbled aswel, so i end up with 4 ETB effects from a single creature drop!
@@NitpickingNerds yea when i was putting my Yarok deck together, i suddenly realized that yarok doubbles the effects of cards that i own but my opoment triggerd, like Sire of Stagnation, my opoment plays a land, i draw 4 cards hihi
Note that Infinite Reflection can target any creature, so if an opponent has a Grave Titan and you enchant it with this, only your creatures will be GT and not theirs, and only your creatures will ETB as GT and not theirs
Ertai's meddling is a great counterspell. it doesn't technically counter the spell, so it can hit uncounterable stuff. also, if it's hitting countermagic, the spell goes off during their upkeep with nothing to target, so they don't get it back. it stays exiled because they can't cast it. It's also not suspend, so if it counters a creature, it doesn't gain haste. It's a nice card to have when you're comboing off against a control player. They'd love to use counterflux or dovin's veto or overwhelming denial to uncounterably counter your combo. Ertai's meddling definitely.... meddles with that plan.
Great video. I've been meaning yo get a Faerie Artisan for my Braids deck, but I hadn't thought about Flow of Ideas! Seems really nice. Another underplayed blue card that I really like is Insight: if at least two people in your pod are playing green, it can be even better than Rhystic Study.
My hidden blue gem is See the Truth. It is very strong with a lot of good commanders (Kess, Taigam, Melek, Elsha etc.), I don't understand why it doesn't see more play.
I love Parallel Thoughts! I remember once I used it to draw out removal and thin out my combo deck. When I told people what it did they immediately assumed I'd be putting my combo pieces in there, when in reality it was seven lands. It got exiled next turn and put the other players at ease thinking they disabled my deck, giving me the time I needed to combo off.
I'm surprised you guys picked so many 5 and 6 cmc spells. My pick for blue secret tech is Mirror Mockery and it can do everything from protect you from a Blightsteel attack, stealing a copy of an opponent's etb on attack, and my favorite, slap it on a Scourge of Fleets to clear the way for big boi on attack!
My undervalued blue card from commander is Soratami Savant.. having mana leak on demand can absolutely paralyze your opponents and in my Tatyova deck where I always have an excess of lands the cost isn't that taxing
Question about Faerie Artisans. So, presumably when this triggers it doesn't exile all tokens made by OTHER Faerie Artisans. So as long as you FLICKER FA between triggers, you would get to keep all the tokens, right? Also Faerie Artisans + Yarok = when any opponent plays something with an ETB trigger you get 4x the trigger (double FA trigger=2 tokens, each token ALSO double ETB triggers). Skeet.
One card I enjoy but don't see often is Trickbind. I myself only run it in one deck currently but I'm thinking of picking up a few more after some good experiences. It may just be better in higher power level decks or could depend on the meta. I've just almost always found a use for it in my hand. You can stop Zur from finding junk, stop an Aetherflux Reservoir or you can find out what counterspells your friend's have when they forget what split second does.
Faerie artisan, if It works how I think it works, is amazing with Yorion, since blinking Faerie artisan creates a *new* instance of Faerie Artisan, and it hasn't created any tokens before, you can keep all previous created tokens.
Oh. My. God. I donate reflections goes insane in a volo deck. You have a ton of creatures with great eyes, you NEVER have to worry about the tribe thing and then you get a token which has the etb so you get the etb from the enchanted creature AND the one you just casted
Congrats on the 11k!! . Keep up the good work!! Commandeer is super expensive right now, i used it a couple of times and it always end up with subpar results, waiting for the big spell to happen or using it on the wrong one. Faerie artisans is so good with Kels: copy, sac, draw.
Flow of ideas be going straight into Charrix. I usually have quite a few islands out for pumping charrix so definitely a powerhouse in that deck. Thanks for the recs!
FWIW, I run Parallel thoughts in my Gavi Cycling deck and its a straight bomb; being able to cycle into the cards. Theres also a huge head game with it if you play with the same people alot. I usually pick 7 lands and then draw them when I need them. That way someone might waste a removal spell on 7 lands. Then, if people stop removing it becayse you always do 7 lands, you can put 7 bombs in and smash. Amazing card
Retraced image is my favourite blue ramp. I had four lands turn two last week thanks to retraced image and wayfarer's bauble. Its almost never bad, later in the game the mana you tap for it is just replaced.
Wouldn't Parallel Thoughts replace the second part of the Brainstorm effect? Like instead of putting two back, you would just draw all three from the exiled seven. So basically Ancestral Recall lmao.
Flow of ideas gets really good in decks that lowers its cost and infinite reflections is great in sonic landfall decks. Oh look at all my avenger of zendikars.
Okay, this list has a lot of utility. Never seen most of these. Commandeer really seems like a powerhouse card and Keep Watch must be the ultimate budget draw power.
Keep watch has been one of my favourite gem cards for years. Found a huge pile of them in a charity shop and I've been giving them out like candy to my playgroup ever since
We going in the WUBRG order? Works for me. Question though regarding multi color cards, will this categories be getting multiple parts given how complex in size and scope they are, or will you be doing shards, and guilds for each multi color instead? Thanks for the work and keep it up!
I got Infinite Reflections for a budget win con in Muldrotha, but I'm thinking it will turn into a Scute Swarm type effect on Murmuring Mystic in Octavia cantrip tribal.

Just want to throw out something on commandeer that you guys didn't mention, probably because it's so obvious, but still worth mentioning outright... the downside to commandeer is way less in blue when you are drawing lots of cards. I use it in my Eligeth/Krark deck where the win condition is literally based around car draw, and dumping two cards is nothing. It's a great card, and in the right deck it's absolute gravy.

We made a rule in our play group so we could only build decks using a 200 dollar budget as long as we didn't insert any cheap cEDH wincons (ie. consultation oracle, WGD, commanders being used exclusively as combo pieces, and pretty much any other combo which requires less than 8 mana to execute). Anything else was fair game: stax, extra turns, free counter magic, tutors, land destruction, etc. Honestly, it worked pretty well for our game group and I found a lot of cool cards I wouldn't have otherwise considered for my decks. One thing though is that we might consider lowering the budget, since a lot of "staples" have been reprinted lately, dropping their price and making it easy to jam some really powerful cards into our decks (primarily Cyclonic Rift and Toxic Deluge). I have actually taken some of the decks I built for our pod and started to gradually increase their power level, while trying to keep the base strategy intact, so you can play around and see what works for different playgroups.
If my Granddaughter has a Keep Watch in hand against my Goblins deck that attacks with like 20 goblins at a time. She should be able to have a response
Overburden is ridiculous in an Urza, Lord High Artificer Deck because you get out so far ahead of your opponent anyways with all the artifact tap for mana you can do and to answer your steadly growing army of artifacts they have to play creatures and you just bounce their lands slowing them down even further LOL. Of course playing urza already makes you a target in group play given his strengths so be careful on drawing too much attention to yourself LOL
