Blankenship was the owner of the company, But it was MSHA fault and they know it. MSHA made them change the ventilation on the longwall which removed about 1/2 the air needed to mine. After all the investigation the Ventilation Man for MSHA was removed from that job. Some things never reported to the press.

Here's a little list of the things he's done to screw over people or has raised red flags: -Didn't pay contractors who did work on the Greenbrier Hotel, causing them to go out of business. -Funneled almost $1 mil to a high school here for rewaxing their basketball court (he's coach to the Ladies Spartans) -When he became gov. he had to step away from being the CEO of Greenbrier Corp., so he let his daughter be the CEO. -His son, who has ZERO role at the Greenbrier Hotel, somehow manages to be the one who collects the "Historical Preservation Fund" from the hotel, which is an extra tax on services and sales at the Greenbrier, including the sale of real estate owned or developed by the hotel. This is probably where a lot of money is. -His companies headquarters, for all 70+ of them, is located in Roanoke, VA in a 5 story building, but there's not any indication of how many people actually work there.
