np!! I personally recommend the motor/unit I'm using in the vid. It's the Rclander 6s 1900kv motor/edf combo. It's EXCELLENT quality. I got it from hobbyking for about 100 bucks vs the retail 140 bucks. Looks like they just go back in stock too!!! As for battery I recommend using a Gens Ace 6s 5300mah 30C pack. It's the same weight as the turingy pack I'm using in the vid, except w/more power! Imagine what kinda performance I would have in the plane w/the gens ace pack!!!
Nice flying and you greased the landing for sure! I'm building mine now. I'm using a Changesun 12 with the new 1500kv 8mm shaft motor from hobbyking, Redbrick 125 opto and a 6S 5000 40C Turnigy pack. I'm hoping this works good...if not that motor should give me room to go 7S with the 12 blade if I change out the esc.
Servo-wise it looks like the only 9g servo in stock that's metal gear is the EXI D213F. Get 7 of those. U need 5, but I always like to get spares :) And GOD DAMN, they're outta stock on the gens ace packs I recommended!!!! Aw well, you can go for the sky lipo 6s 5000mah 40C packs. (dang i was gonna get more of those gens packs) You should be fine w/the Hobbywing ESC too. Just do a couple ground checks cuz i got a fun fly one w/a loose signal wire, but that was probably just unlucky me haha.
I'd recommend an exceed RC proton 100a esc OPTO from hobbypartz. Start off with low timing and you can go up to high timing later if it doesn't kick up the amps above 100 and if there's a notable higher pitch/sound of the motor. Plus you can get the gens ace packs in the same order. btw I recommend using two separate UBECs. One for the servos and one for the retracts for safety reasons ;) What kind of battery did you end up picking? And did you end up picking the tan hobbytopgun retracts?
Hei thanks for esc advice, yes i went with HK-1106 tan retracts and for battery cant find gens ace 5300 30c 6s anywere. I thought to get turnigy 5000mah 30c 6s until hobbypartz gets some in. What do you think of hobbywing 100a opto from hobbypartz ?
Hi, I have a question regarding installation of edf unit, did u have to make any modifications, how did u mount it, I'm looking at stock motor edf unti snd it has 2 mounts, the rclander doesn't. Thx in advance! :)
a good solution will be the Mig-17 rclander retracts.. even the older ones with the pastic mechaniscms. I use it on my MB339 also recommended them for a friednds flyfly mb339... I used them on my flyfly hawk. FLAWLESS.. you can pm Tim Wan on rcgroups forum and he will send the mdirectly to you.. tell him pavcon told you and it will be no prob ;)
