Traction boards work nicely in conjunction with winch. When you are stuck in mud or sand, you can place your boards in front of the tires as if you where going to drive out with them, but use the winch to pull (in mud traction boards often do not provide enough traction which is why tires spin on them and melt studs off) the combination works far easier. It reduces the load your winch is under and it gives the tires some added traction to help pull while you winch.
Awesome Matt! It's really coming together. Can't wait to see the rotopax and everything else on this and see it in action in the Ozarks for some camping!
The Gladiator is coming along nicely. Loving the bed rack and the way you have it all setup. I really cant wait for the review on the new sidekick. I missed out on the previous model lol.
Looks really good. We'll be doing something similar. Only, our bed rack will be taller. Our RTT has a mattress of 6'9" × 6'9" The tent will be partly over the cab of the gladiator. I'm 6'7", loving the big tent. Lol
If you want some experience with traction boards go get in some sand lol. Had to use them in page arizona in some sand bc there was nothing around to winch to
I really wish someone made a half height cap. That’s what we wanted but it doesn’t exist. I didn’t want my tent up on top. It wouldn’t fit in the garage.
Awwww man i cant wait until my new ecodiesel JT is here i ordered 2 weeks ago and its gonna be here in about 2 weeks, cant wait to start working on it :D Edit- nevermind i ordered it 3 weeks ago
I would say it just depends on. your needs and budget. A soft shell tent like the 23Zero is going to have a more comfortable mattress and you can store more blankets and stuff inside the tent when it's folded and it's cheaper. But they take longer to set up and put away and don't do as well in windy condition. The hardshells cost more and the mattresses are thinner but the speed they can be set up and put away is awesome and they do better in wind. For our needs we like the hardshell Sidekick better than our 23Zero and in fact have someone that's buying our 23Zero from us.
Why did you decide to go with a bed rack and not a cap, like a Smartcap? Wouldn't a cap keep all of your gear cleaner? Some caps give you molle racks to mount things on the exterior. I'm trying to decide what direction to go with my new truck.
How tall does the RTT sit from the can height? Trying to know so I can think it will fit in my garage since I am only a few inches shorter than garage entry
Do you happen to know the height from the top of the rack to the top of the cab roof? I'm looking to do something similar and I have a low parking garage and I'm looking to see how call of a tent will fit.
Another great video! 💪
Appreciate it!
Looks awesome, love it!
Thanks!
Looks great! Thanks for sharing
Heck yeahhh! Looks good, can't wait to see it all in action!
BAD ASS!!!

I'm sure I'll get to try that out one day. LOL. Thanks for the tip.
The rebel rack is one of the best looking racks out there. Great job 🤙🏽
Sully is getting all dressed up!!! I like it!
I've had the same rack on my JT for a few months now. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have!
Looks great, Matt! Look forward to seeing it on the trail.
The capability of both jeeps are amazing. I'm happy to see your gladiator getting outfitted and looking forward to more overlanding videos. 😃
Me too!!!!! Thanks.
Looks good guys. It’s amazing to see what’s going to happen next
I'm just ready to go camp out of it!!! LOL
I bet I would be too
The truck is looking amazing.

Looks good. I'm digging the layout. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks!! I'm ready to test it!

You and me both!

That video should be out next week.
Do these mount without the trail rail system also?
Yes they do.

Your setup looks great!!!
Looks great, love the clean look.
Looks great!
Looks great! Im gonna have to come check it out one day
Come on by.
Great Video! Love this rack!
👍🏼to the 1/2 rack !!
That propane bottle needs some blue paint on it !!
I agree and already have the paint for it.
Great job!!! Not my favorite rack I have seen on a Gladiator but doesn't look bad at all.

so far I haven't been stuck in sand. But I haven't wheeled a lot in it either.
I’m digging it!
Lookin good. I love it.
This or a cap. More to think about! Looks great!
I really wish someone made a half height cap. That’s what we wanted but it doesn’t exist. I didn’t want my tent up on top. It wouldn’t fit in the garage.
# 1 again 👍👍
😂😂😂
Can we add canvas to the interior? Protect stuff from dust and rain
I just ordered this rack
Where did you get the bolt kit to hold the traction boards? Can't seem to find the link.
They came with an X-Bull traction board. I think you can order them on Amazon.
Awwww man i cant wait until my new ecodiesel JT is here i ordered 2 weeks ago and its gonna be here in about 2 weeks, cant wait to start working on it :D
Edit- nevermind i ordered it 3 weeks ago
Looks great! Question can you adjust the height of the rack to make it taller? Like higher than the cab? Thanks
It’s fixed. You can’t adjust it.
Been looking for a rack that fits over a Mopar Tonneau cover. Guess this one cant huh?
I remember last December you had the 23zero walkaround tent. Would you recommend this tent instead?

I wanted my tent lower.

I'm not sure. I'm no longer running this rack.
Looks good. Have you posted the last video of the Moab trip yet?
The Pritchett Canyon video will drop Friday night and we will do a premiere for it so come watch it with us.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures great thanks.
I was really expecting this video to be the one of you doing Pritchet Canyon like you referenced in your last video. When will that video be uploaded?
We will be doing a premiere for the Pritchett Canyon video Friday night at 7:30 central time. Come watch it with us.
The setup looks great! Im sure we can find you a place to use those boards😉
ohhhh yeah!
It’s not the bed rack you wanted, but it’s the bed rack you deserve! 🤣
What system holds your frig that seems to have a cutting board as well?
It's just a regular fridge slide by Dometic. Check out my latest video in New Mexico to see a new slide I just got that's really awesome.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I watched the new video in New Mexico but did not see anything about the new slide.
Looks killer, glad yall were finally able to get one. What is that mounted on the back passenger side of the Chief rack on the GC?
That's the mount for our Waterport.
I almost went with this rack, now I’m sad I didn’t!!!
Same setup I was contemplating - sweet! What size is the mattress on the RTT?
It’s a 2” memory foam.
The freaking hair, you're killing me.
You die way too easily. LOL
Why don’t you guys run a sipe tread tire?
Milestars have sipes. I don't know of a current tire brand that doesn't have sipes.
Guess you can’t tell on the video’s. I’ve watched a lot of videos and seems like non have them. Thanks for the reply.
Shorter bolts for the mini traction boards. Somebody is going to poke their eye out.
Is this the xplor or headache rack?
xplor. I've since moved on to the Xtrusion Overland Rack and it's SO much better!!
Is that a 5lb propane tank?
Yes it is.
I kinda want to know the campfire story/saga about racks as a person in the market for one.
Just go with a brand you trust and you'll be good.
You have such a cool wife!
Very true!!!
👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👏👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😁
Fiat truck 😄
😂😂😂 You misspelled Stelantis.
Looks great!
