I have ALWAYS wondered about that staccato idea. Good on the reporter for asking about that. Very memorable. Although, to be honest, the producer or engineer at the time SHOULD have been able to do what Billy was asking for. Much as those guys got paid by the labels for their studio expertise. I would’ve fired the guy the moment he said he couldn’t do it. It’s like “what are we paying YOU for, then?”
Love the song, a good song writer is a good story teller and Billy really paints a great picture with his songs. I always thought the sound of the engine pulling out at the end was a motorbike, most likely a Harley? Well I learned something new
Just looked up who had written Moving Out. I see it was Billy Joel. The song has a Beatles-like quality, which made me wonder who had written the song.
Almost everyone song recorded by Billy Joel is a Billy Joel written song, bar a handful of live versions of a cover he has performed at a concert, a song for a film's soundtrack, a track on a tribute album to another artist or just something to add as a new track on a best of or hits album for fans who already have the older stuff.
My favorite Billy Joel song.
billy joel and the Beatles and dylan wrote the music of my life ..I'm 62 ...music is everything.
Amongst musicians he's a one-in-a-million genius. One of the greatest songwriters of all time.

Still worked out in the end. That ACK ACK ACK ACK still sends me chills.

Jeez, This is Billy's best song, specifically for that "ak ak ak ka ka ka , it's just brilliant.
My favorite part of this song is when the song comes to a halt by the piano sound and it ends with the saxophones.
Best strat!
“You already did it.. whay don’t u do it your self?.. “
my man tai-chi-ed his responsibility right back to Billy Joel 😂
You answered my question! What car was it at the end of the song pealing out...a Corvette. Thank you!
He says it would take four hours to do something that with todays technology wouldn't take four minutes.
Good stuff!

Billy will tell you he was heavily influenced by the Beatles. Listen to his channel when Sirius XM gives The Billy Joel channel another month.
Bill. Have you ever noticed how No Mans Land and the song Vertigo by U2 have an uncanny resemblance?
Thanks
The ending of black by pearl jam needs editing...
Billy is such a good Italian boy.
Jewish. Research his bio.
@@arielsea9087 Jewish, Italian, pretty much the same thing. One eats mattzo balls, and the other matza balls.
