2021 and this still helps! Thanks. I would send something to print and the form would never print and I was not even able to delete the print in que! NOW how do I speed up the printing time from the sent document to it actually starting to print because it is taking about 15 seconds?

*Bro, you rock!* I spent the whole day removing and reinstalling drivers, and resetting routers, modem, PC, printers, and nothing worked. To print I would have to just let my whole day's work stack up and then reboot my computer and upon reboot it would print at that point but not before and once that batch printed, it wouldn't print again till I was ready to reboot again. I broke down to look at TH-cam for the answer as usual and found your video here, I did what your very clear instructions said and it worked like a charm back to fast printing again. Thank you!

*FOLLOWUP: It does work for me one time and prints out what ever I put in the spool the first time but then I never get a second shot at it as it returns with a print error immediately afterwards where I can't get it to print again showing it's offline despite the printer being online and the only thing that helps is to repeat all instructions all over again each time I want to print something.* 😢

Your video fix here was and has been the only one that quickly fixed my problem. Despite the printer showing to be "Online and connected to my WIFI" for what ever reason your fix does work but for me, just good for one print until the queue is empty and then when I add more pages to print, my PC is back to showing the printer offline while the printer says online again and I have to rinse and repeat these steps every time (or just do a hard reboot which will typically print out what is in the queue and again, back to the problem until rinse and repeat.
My computer and printer are only 20' feet from each other with a clear line of site. All on the same network and I can't figure why after all these years it's just now started doing this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled new drivers which doesn't change the problem and just wondering if you have experienced anything like this or know a fix to "permanently" keep the desktop and printer connected short of plugging a ethernet cable which would be uggly across my office floor not to mention other computers in my office also need to access it on occasion. As for right now, I have all other devices turned off and just trying to tackle this issue head on with just this one computer.
Any ideas, your channel has been the closest to fixing this problem I've tried so far, some even made things worse and took a lot for me to uninstall and reinstall and setup back to original settings. I'm also turning off my AV and firewalls just to make sure that's not the issue but doesn't help. Any clues?

The issue can be resolved as you demonstrated. However, the issue returns time and time again with my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printer. The issue repeats quite frequently and is about certain to occur with a set of multiple print files. Apple OS computers on the network do NOT have the issue. It is exclusive a Windows 10 OS issue. What is wrong with the Windows 10 OS and how can the print spooler issue be resolved? I would like to remedy the issue once and for all, not every time I print on the sole Windows-based computer on my network.

But every time I run out of paper and put more paper in, I get the same problem: My print job won't print because it still says the printer is out of paper. Now I'm trying to follow your instructions again, but after I type net stop spooler, it says access denied because of a system error. Ugh!

Make sure you right click command prompt and run it as administrator. This will probably solve it.

Please explain WHY this happens? I have been printing professional corporate desktop and large scale documents since 1996 and I have never encounter such terrible printing problems as i have with Microsoft. I do not know how so many customers accept such low quality products from this company. Apple's Macintosh is used in the creative industry where Microsoft products would never be used. If professional had to deal with print connection issues like with Window's Apple would be out of business.
What is the code to past on the command prompt line please.
What about sluggish printing? Like the act of the printer head moving slower and stopping like it has to think, especially with no alterations to the printer or settings

The problem I face is, sometimes my printer shows error in printing even though the page is not stuck. After which the printer starts printing again from page 1.

It helped after I downgraded from Windows 11 to Windows 10. Now the spooler is quitting again. Do I have to enter the command every time I need to print something, or is there another problem I may be having?

What if you don’t have command prompt in your computer? Do you install an app?
When I run the second command I get: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Will this work with a vp660 color label printer that’s run by windows 10??
I was overthinking my solution. There were two printers listed and the one that was offline in the listing I deleted that because right below it it said default. As soon as I deleted that one above it, the word default appear below the printer icon below it. I then closed out the printers and faxes dialog box. Restored my web browser and clicked print. Problem solved
it started after a no paper error . Samsung ml2020 ( Hp provides driver for samsung) . i supplied paper no go printing. Checked spooler nothing stuck. I uninstal driver/software many times. Even did your step many times. See at the time it was very important i not restart my computer. Typically if the printer gets dysynchronous this helps. But i tried uninstalling and reinstalling before a reboot. Now the symptoms when printing. the document sees to whiz through fast through spooler ( nothing happens but i can quickly see the file blip in and out) typically the printer will pause power up make sounds and i can monitor it in the que as printing. The documents do not error , they go nowhere!!!! nothing to cancel. Im stumped. This printer works via usb and wifi mode with other printers. Im thning something with the spooler or usb to spooler. If you can fix ill contribute. thinking of using a off driver ( different driver) to see if it sets up in windows in a new directory with new services as a work around.
Did not work for me - my printer only prints slowly when I copy. It’s fine from my computers or phone.

what about without restarting. Restarting always works, but the whole point is, we didn't want to restart just to close a frozen print queue out.
I would suggest it, unless it is some mission-critical server I don't see it being a problem for most people.
But the issue returns when i turn on printer the next time
It works only once, again the same problem arise when trying to print again.

Now my device manager is saying it's offline, when the printer is on. Printer worked flawlessly until I had my hard drive replaced. Now it was difficult to print (long wait time, slower printing). i've done everything. It hasn't been the same.
