Hi me again. I guess what I'm really asking is - What shows up in the URL? I have 2 unrelated businesses so I dont want bed linen in the URL of the online courses business. Thanks again and like Enrique says you're great nice and clear instruction and love the part about the files also.
Your URL will be domain.com , and domain2.com . Let's say domain2.com was the addon domain.
That's great info nice and clear. So can the addon domains be a totally unrelated product. E.g. Selling bed linen and another doing courses? Or do you need a new account?
An addon domain is its own separate domain (which you have to buy/register) which can then be used for anything you like.

So the add-on domains are the domains you bought from the same web host or from different web host?
Domains can be purchased anywhere else and be used as an addon domain with your cpanel web hosting account.

You're trying to make/change email account for addon domains or sub-domains? I have never use emails for sub-domains.

If you're using something like wordpress on your addon website, there are plugins to back up just the files from your addon domains. I am not familiar with any CPANEL options that backs up only the addon domain files.
So what if you want to get your addon domain on a separate cpanel account? Is that possible?
You can only have the same addon domain in 1 cpanel account.

Unless you are learning web development, generally you almost never have to mess with php admin. Most sites like wordpress can be installed automatically at the click of a button.

Yes, that's right unlimited addon domains = unlimited websites you can host!
However, up to a certain point when you start using too much server resources, your host may ask you to upgrade or kick you out for violating terms of service.

Creating Addon domain does not require you to create an SQL database.

hello, i have host my domain, and i add it on add domain, but i find out , that on my cpanel, the formal domain was still on, i expected my domain, to over-write the old one on the c-panel.. but it was not so

Great instruction! What does the "Domain" link do? (The title of your video is "ADDON Domain vs DOMAIN," but you never really said anything about DOMAIN, just ADDON Domain.)
Domain is your main cpanel account domain name like howtowebmaster.com. If people visit this domain in their browser, they will see my website for this domain. If I have an addon domain i.e. howtowebmaster2.com, there will be a folder inside of my public_html for this addon domain. If people visit howtowebmaster2.com in browser, it will show website whatever is on that addon domain. Hope this helps clarify things better.

@@slainiae Wherever you register domain names (godaddy, or namecheap, etc), make sure to set your nameservers provided by your hosting company (hostgator, or bluehost, etc). The addon domain and main domain should use the exact same nameservers.

Addon domains do not get separate cpanel account.
You would need a cpanel reseller account to create separate cpanel accounts for each site.

That means you've added the addon domain or domain correctly. Upload an index page or website and all should be good.
