i would never give hate to u wearing a cage bc ur just trying to protect yourself
Very true I wear one true
Wait, you block shot and don’t wear shoulder pads of a padded shirt? To hell with anyone chirping you about the cage, you have my respect
I'm learning how to roller skate soon I support you 4 being well protected. Once I learn I'm going to play roller hockey
Awesome info, your passion is contagious!
Thank I love the sport and love to see people play
Very good friend! I hope u are fine! We play inline hockey here! Brazil
I wanna play roller hockey but I’m 41… used to play with neighborhood kids in the early-mid 90’s. Such a drag getting old… and wear the CAGE!
You should totally go for it man. I know a tun of guys that started hockey in their 40s. Most rinks will have a beginner league that you could play in. If you played back in the 90s you will already have a head start over most beginners
@@HockeyAdventureshow do beginner leagues work though? I’m considering joining one, does everyone randomly get assigned positions? 😅
Ay Ryan! another good vid I just don’t have the pants and my gear is small on me so I have to exchange it. Also my school might not be open for the rest of the year.
Thank man. It sounds like it’s time to upgrade your gear. I heard about that. To bad all the rinks are close to
I’m just now starting roller at 34. Lol I’ve been on skates since I was 8. Which helps lol
Bro idc if you wear a cage I love them lol
was goin back n forth about a cage...i'm 5'5...and honestly i dont wanna get hit by a stick nor a puck... wont hurt to try
I recommend wearing one, especially when you’re short like me. It’s weird at first but after a few games you get use to it. Plus it’s not worth losing your teeth over and having to pay all that money to get them fixed
i love the cage
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!
I wear a cage too. Screw what people think lol
Gonna start inline next year since that’s all my university has and they practice outdoors and play games indoors so would one set of wheels be fine?
Not at all! The wheels used for indoor are soft so it allows you to grip to the floor. They get torn up by the out side surfaces. Outdoor wheels are much harder and will last a lot longer. Sadly the grip factor isn’t as good but it’s better then having to buy new wheels all the time. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
@@HockeyAdventures hi like the wheels that come standard on just regular inline skates what surfaces are the wheels designed for? Thanks 👍
@@wildadventure5101 that depends on the durometer, some come with indoor wheels, typically a 76A, but some come with outdoor, which will typically be an 82A :)
Yeeessss please. How do you wear all that armor on?
I actually have a video for that out already th-cam.com/video/YCiifbseFFQ/w-d-xo.html. But your body really does just get use to it pretty quickly
I wish I could get into roller hockey but I live in NZ where we have just regular hockey that you play with feet not wheels. feelsbadman
Better than nothing
Do leagues accept regular skates?
For the skates, what’s your take on the marsblades vs a hi-lo setup? Thanks for putting out great content.
I have never used marshlands so I can’t really comment on them. But I do enjoy the hi-lo set up
@@HockeyAdventures thank you
No problem
Is a inline hockey stick the same as a normal hockey stick
Yup
Can you please explain why you would tape the blade of a roller hockey stick?
The tape provides grip
I don't hate you 4 wearing a cage it's for protection
I have practiced a bit with my sister with only a ball and a wooden hockey stick each plus my aggressive skates, but I can't wait to get real equipment :)
Right now we only really practice stick handling and passing the ball. So we don't really need it yet. But we want to join a team as soon as the corona situation lightens up.
But I got a question. Do girls need cups?
That’s awesome to hear. Reminds me of how I got into playing. Just some brooms and a ball. Hope things open up soon so you and you sister can join a league. You two are going to love it. For the cup I honestly don’t know. I do know they make like a plate, but I’m sure the answer to a somewhere online
You mentioned getting good and not cheap skates. Online I see skates from 100-1000. What is the price point for diminishing returns for skates and maybe a helmet too?
Thanks!
i know this is late, but anything between 250-500 range will be ur best bet, the mission inhaler wm03 are your best option
Tour Volts are under $300 and they are fantastic. True had the TF7 and TF9's. The TF7 is also under $300 and they are great skates. The cheap skates break down fast especially if you are a full sized guy weighing over 200 lbs. You'll destroy those skates fast.
Hey man, I'm starting soon (never played organized before) and was wondering if I needed anything for my chest (shoulder pads, padded shirt?)
Not if your playing roller. There are padded shirts if you feel like wearing them but not necessary. If you are playing ice I would highly recommend shoulder pads. I love to hear people starting hockey. If you have any other questions the best way to reach me is a dm over Instagram @hockey.adventures
@@HockeyAdventures awesome thank you
Quick question, can I just wear a pear of track pants for inline pants? Seems like the same thing to me
If you want to you can as long as you shin pads fit underneath them
do you wear something under your jersey? stupid question a little bit ik, but honestly idk
I personally do not but some people do. It’s like 50/50
Can I attach a cage to my warrior covert RS Pro helmet? If so what kind is compatible with that model helmet?
Yeah all helmets can attach cages. Just google warrior hockey helpmate cage and the correct one should pop up
cages for life
What pant are you using because when I look up in-line hockey pants it’s just shows jocks and girdles
Here a link to some. The ones I use are Bauers www.inlinewarehouse.com/Roller_Hockey_Pants/catpage-HOCROLPANTS.html
Where do you get roller hockey shin guards like that at
I get my gear from www.inlinewarehouse.com but I got those like 8 years ago
I will not discriminate because of the cage but i wear visor
You are not a wimp for wearing a cage. That makes you smart.
Not wearing protective equipment including cages is silly.
I don’t care that you were cage because I am Aylor cage also
you should wear a bubble bud
I’m a cage guy. Been hit 1 too many times in the face!!!
Same here. It’s not fun. Got nailed in the face with an ice puck my last game. If I didn’t have a cage I wouldn’t have teeth
Thanks for this video 🏒🙌🏾you saved me a lot of trouble
No problem. Glad it helped you
