Yellow Coachdog (YLCD) is the color of the Rooster Tail. I suggest you crush all the barbs on the hooks when fishing with kids. Saved me many trips to the ER. Good Luck.
That was an epic history lesson on Taylor ham vs pork roll! How’d he research all that!? The guys at the Casino Fishing Pier (before Sandy tool it out) would order them off the boardwalk each morning, arguing over what it should be called haha
Seriously, I have problems with keeping focused on the important details in life (birthdays, anniversaries), but I know the history of pork roll & can remember exactly when and where I caught my first keeper striper. -JH
As I recommended to a friend, do NOT throw topwaters during the eclipse; any fish looking up could potential have their retinas burned out before they ever get a chance to whack your plug! -JH
Jim, can you ask George if they have any type of seminars on Fly Fishing and for Saltwater fishermen in our area or will the magazine have that information.
Juan, typically when there are fly fishing events (seminars, etc.) run by local clubs or shops, they'll pass that info along to be included in the print magazine or here in the video. I'll check with George for the Poconos region, and will keep my eyes and ears open as well throughout NJ. Were you looking for an "intro" type of fly fishing event, or more advanced? -JH
George is keeping an eye out; for fly exclusive coming up, check this out from the folks at Pequest. dep.nj.gov/njfw/fishing/freshwater/learn-at-pequest/
Thanks for the report Jim Pennsylvania boys going to be hitting it hard the next 2 months got a quick question for you the stripers we catch in the Delaware near Easton and Delaware Water Gap landlocked are they from the ocean man at night with chicken livers you can't get rid of them thanks Sea on the beach again soon
Here you go again Jim with your striper obsession.....very interesting. Think your buddy Murphy will be at Saxton Falls like Whitman used to do on opening day? Jersey should have a youth only opening day the previous Saturday like PA does. .
Ayee, I made the report! Tight lines boys and girls
Good fish Dan! -JH
Thanks Jim. My daughters got a kick out of that report. Another awesome report.

Do you think the solar eclipse will make big changes for the fishing or no?

The youth fishing angle is a GREAT idea. PA does it, so does DE! I'll check with my pal Phil next time we get together for a couple of cold ones! -JH
