Stayed at Sango sands at the end of june 5years ago. Everyone was outside watching the sunset way after midnight. Was only dark about 3 hours. Scotland is the most wonderful place.
We camped there in 1960, long before campsites. The road was single track, and it was in the days of the ferries, such as the Kylesku ferry. The weather was wet, windy and grey. We had a family saying when the weather was uniformly grey and wet, that it was a "Durness" day. Still, it was a memorable and wonderful place.

Hi guys. Fascinated by the benefits you get with that 3m pole. Have you got a video where you actually show it or can provide a link to it? Am doing the NC500/Skye in a couple of weeks and you’ve given me more places to visit after watching all your videos. No idea how I’m going to get it all in. I’m just another subscriber who can only say again how good your videos are. Thanks so much for sharing and the work that must be involved in editing them all together 😊👍🏻
Hi Stuart, really appreciate your comment about our videos😊 we were in Scotland for 5 weeks and still need to go back to visit the places we didn't have time for, if limited on time I would spend most of your time on the West Coast of the NC500, this is where the good stuff is😀 Re the Pole, to get the benefits in needs to be used with a 360 camera on the end as this allows you to choose the camera angle in the edit after filming. I don't have a video on the whole process at the moment but here are the amazon links: Pole - amzn.to/3pKfVVV I use the GoPro Max 360 Camera - amzn.to/3KTrcvP , another popular alternative 360 is the Insta360 ONE X2 - amzn.to/3LZEHds cheers...Andy&Michelle
Loved your video…3 years after your epic tour!…we are heading out July 2025, and would really appreciate if you remember the site #, so we can reserve in advance.
Hi, we were on pitch 60 (just looking back at the video), we didn’t book but it will be very popular, I found this link on google.. sangosands.com have a great time 😀
We camped up on that high level at sango sands on the cliff edge. The trouble was there were very high winds and the first night we were there, it was like sleeping in a tumble dryer. The wife had a panic attack, thinking we were going to be blown off the cliff because of it and we swapped with another van, it was the owner's birthday and she didn't mind the wind and wanted the view, so we gladly exchanged places.
It is awesome, and we didn't get the weather but it was still good😀 we couldn't book but if you can do it as it gets busy, otherwise just turn up early like we did. We stayed at the John0Groats campsite, 2 mins from the harbour, only need 1 night as there's not much there, just the harbour and a hike to the stacks, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Hi, this is the route I will be doing, can you provide the dimensions of your travel home please? The bridge you crossed at Skelpick looked very narrow and would just like to plan ahead regarding passing over this. Many Thanks
Hi Danny, we are 7.5x2.23 there weren’t any times in Scotland where it was a squeeze to get through, there are a lot of single vehicle roads but passing places are everywhere, personally I found it easier than driving In Cornwall 😀 cheers.. Andy&Michelle
We are so blessed to live in the Scottish Highlands. Stayed at Dueness end of the summer and loved it. Luckily to only live a few hours away and will definitely be back. Even though we had an unfortunate encounter with someone there! - my latest TH-cam video shares all about it xxx
Hi, yes drones need to be registered with the CAA, you also will need to have a flyer id which you take a short online course and test. I've also take the A2 CofC course which reduces some of the law flying restrictions but this did take around 20hrs of study and the exam was much harder. Enjoy the rest of the Scotland series 😀 cheers...Andy&Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures The very same 😃 we’ve got our Bailey 794T perched as close to the edge as we can. Absolutely the best pitch we have ever had 👍
a question...we're hiring a motor home for the 1st time in Scotland this summer with the thought that we might eventually buy one. On your many trips, how often do you book campsites ahead of time or do you leave a lot to chance? One of the great things about motor homing is the freedom it gives!
Hi, yes you are right, the freedom is one of the great things of Motorhoming 😀some sites get really full in advance but there are usually alternatives and we prefer to decide last minute, outside of peak season we never ok when abroad, in Scotland there are some really good sites that you can’t book, the key to getting on those is arrive early, cheers…Andy&Michelle

Outstanding as always. Was that the chocolate shop our poshcats visited last year? I wish you pair would retire and do this full time. You’re so good at this. Thank you 😉👍❤️
Thanks Jimmy, you are very kind! 😊 we do have plans afoot to do this full time in a couple of years, until then its a balancing act between work and our adventures, we can't wait! 😀 Poshcats could well have visited the chocolate shop, its one of those must do places if in the area. Cheers...Andy&Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures brilliant. As soon as I win that lottery I’ll be buying myself a “katie” too. Fantastic layout. Such a cool home on wheels.👍❤️
Epic 👏
Thanks 😊 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Great video 👍 we also had a front pitch @ Ullapool, great sunset there if you got one ?
Adrian, you are describing our next video before its even made!! 😀😉 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures we are actually in Dumfries at the moment, first time in Scotland for over 2 years and the place is overrun with MH but I’m sure the faze will wear off when some people start going abroad again - we hope 😀 it’s great you are back out having your adventures 👍 still 🤣🤣🤣 at your lockdown roots joke a fair few videos ago.
Brilliant - thanks for that Andy 👍🏻
Did the trip in 2017 but in reverse gteat place to stay nice and wild
Our original plan was clockwise but a chip in the windscreen sent us to Inverness to get it fixed. Yes, so wild up there😀 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
We can imagine how scary it must get up there in the wind, I don't think we'd have been on that spot if the winds were high! Cheers...Andy&Michelle
I'm booking this place as looks awesome .. where did you stay in john o groats .?
It is awesome, and we didn't get the weather but it was still good😀 we couldn't book but if you can do it as it gets busy, otherwise just turn up early like we did. We stayed at the John0Groats campsite, 2 mins from the harbour, only need 1 night as there's not much there, just the harbour and a hike to the stacks, cheers...Andy&Michelle
Fabulous video guys, you do great job. Are you both full time vanlifers?
Hi Andy, not full time, just try to get away at every opportunity 😀 glad you are enjoying the video’s…Andy&Michelle
Thanks so much for reply 😊👍
P.s great videos 👌
Many thanks, glad your enjoying.
Have a great time in Scotland 🏴
I had that exact same spot 5 years ago. Not very pleasant in 40+ mph winds!
We were waiting for someone to say they were in the same spot 😀 It must have been quite scary in 40mph winds on the edge!! 💨😬 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Does this spot have a number or name, so we can reserve it? Thank you
Assuming the numbers are still the same it was pitch 60 😀
We are so blessed to live in the Scottish Highlands. Stayed at Dueness end of the summer and loved it. Luckily to only live a few hours away and will definitely be back. Even though we had an unfortunate encounter with someone there! - my latest TH-cam video shares all about it xxx
Do you need a licence for the drone and what time of the year did you go as only just started with part 8😂
Amazing music guys and great vid......atmosphereic as fuck.
Glad you liked the music, we spent quite a lot of time finding the right tracks for this one! 🎶 Cheers...Andy&Michelle
Just arrived at Sango Sands and guess what pitch we got 👀❤️
It wouldn't be pitch 60 by any chance would it!! 😀 ❤️ 🌊🏝 Enjoy 😀 Andy & Michelle
@@ExtremeMotorhomingAdventures The very same 😃 we’ve got our Bailey 794T perched as close to the edge as we can. Absolutely the best pitch we have ever had 👍
@@meandmrsjonesontour8562 Fabulous, its great to hear you think so to!! 👍
a question...we're hiring a motor home for the 1st time in Scotland this summer with the thought that we might eventually buy one.
Good rock fishing
Get your rods out and grill fresh caught fish
Ohhh now I like that idea… 🎣 Watching the sun go down.. sounds idyllic! 😃😃 Michelle and Andy
I hope you get paid by the Scottish Tourist Board !
That would be nice, unfortunately we are still waiting for the call! 😂 cheers…Andy&Michelle
