Oh my God in so excited for this paint job. This is the factory two tone style my S10 is and I'd like to return it to. It's good to see someone still appreciated a two tone paint scheme
That paint is more shiny & higher quality looking than the stock S10 paint ever was. My 86 S10 is 2 tone white with silver down the middle. I had to pay extra for the silver when I ordered it from the factory because the 2-tone was only available as an option on the top or bottom like you have it, not the middle. 36 years later, the white is ok, but half the silver has washed away, looks like, well, patina. Anyway, good choice of colors, IMO. I'm looking for those same bucket seats for my bad back you installed a while ago, now that I know they'll work. Thanks!
Just looking at the colors u added onto the truck reminds me of the time when my first stepdad had the chevy blazer. Same color. The truck is looking absolutely amazing.
I just moved to =Hawaii and had to hurry up and buy a vehicle so i could get around, I bought an 86 S-10, it's nothing special, it has the 2.5 "Iron Duke" and an auto trans but they are both in top notch shape and it will make a GREAT project that I can drive while I work on it. It was originally grey and silver but someone painted it in mid 90's and didn;t really do that good of a job, I'm going to stripe it back to bare metal before I repaint it, but I am going to do a color change with an ole school paint scheme, I'm painting it 2024 BMW Sunset Orange Metallic and I'm going to paint the Roof and JUST the roof 2024 Ametheist Grey, the interior is already grey so it will look good.

I'm not a paint guy. A few things I see i have to ask. Why sand where you paint? That would get trash in the paint right? Secondly.. you have the rotisserie and why not use it? Would have got a better pain job. Man you need a real paint booth. With downdraft of suction of the room. Stay safe and be well.
Hey Dave, all good points. My "booth" is homemade so to speak, I don't have the space to have separate areas for everything and I can't afford a legit paint booth so we have to work with what we have. To minimize trash, we just have to do lots and lots of cleaning. We're also experimenting with different prep methods and filtering, plus varying airflow to find the sweet spot and make the best out of what we have to work with. Thanks!
Thought about it, but ended up deciding to leave it white. I have some stenciled lettering decals, like it would have been originally so I might use that instead if I decide otherwise
Are you sanding down the truck in the same room as you're painting it? Why are the painter not using a paint suit all the time to eliminate the possible contaminants from his dirty clothes?

Obviously Joe knows what he's doing, but dang, such a narrow fan on that primer! I'm so impatient that I can't personally deal with that.

Should of painted the letters on the tailgate grey, would of looked nice and stand out more ☺
