Thank you! I have been looking for this to be answered because my potatoes are flowering. I wasn't sure if that would take from the growth of the tubers.
I am wondering if it would be beneficial to save the seeds after they flower? How long would it take to grow a potatoe plant from a seed? Would it be two years, or like onion seeds?

Hello Amanda, thanks for the comment, flowering wont affect the growth of the potatoes, and don't remove the tops so the potatoes can grow on fully. I wouldn't bother saving the seeds from the berry to plant as they take longer ( an extra few months), they need to be started in trays indoors and they may not be good quality potatoes at the end of it. Much better to use the small seed potatoes to plant the following season.

Thanks for the video. Thus is my first year planting. I used grow bags and my potato stalks grew tall but very few flowered. They are all now flopping over. Curious to see what I’ve grown. Will probably harvest this week since the weather will be in the 100s. Zone 5b. Fingers crossed.

      @@missysmith9826 how did it go?

Went pretty well. In each 10 gallon bag, I planted 2 potato chits, each bag netted 25+ potatoes. Lots of baby ones too. I didn’t count those. The yield really depended on the variety. The purple skins yielded less than the Red or white. Reds yield way more than either variety. I still have 2 bags untouched. Their tops are still green. Next year , I won’t mix the potatoes in one bag since they grow differently. No pest issues in the bags.
I guess the lack of flowering didn’t affect the growth as much.
