    I had the same dog. The best dog I ever had. Never needed a leash anywhere. She never left my side and I hardly needed to give her any commands. She always did the right thing on her own. No problems with other dogs or cats or people. We lived in a little village and everybody knew the dog and loved her.

    Hi first time seeing your channel and I am extremely impressed. Clearly Kevin's life has been saved because of your training techniques. I have a lot of experience with G.S.D's and giant breeds so now I'm instantly hooked. I noticed Kevin was stiff in his back legs. He still has a lot of growing to do a our big guys frequently experience literal growing pains in their joints and tendons. The large bones in their legs (especially on a good diet)grow faster than the cartilage and connective tissue can keep up. A few days of kennel rest can help but I highly recommend taking to your vet about time Kevin may need medication along the way. Kevin has another 6mo's to a year before fully grown and keeping an eye out for joint issues now will help delay arthritis in the future. If only the same could be done with German Shepherds hips the world would be a better place. Thanks again for saving Kevin and we need more people to pay attention to what you're doing. Keep up the good work

      I'm a long time GSD owner and I think you're referring to Panosteitis? Only one of my GSDs had it, and she was in the ER at midnight. Jumped from one leg into three, but she outgrew it at 18 months. Sooo important to feed properly. Both my GSD girls had IVDD, one inoperable, the other had spinal surgery at age 6. Fortunately was a poster child for recovery.

    • @denisia1111
      @denisia1111 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thepupmommy I was thinking Kevin possibly had Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy aka HOD, that is very similar to Panosteitis, both have almost identical signs n symptoms.
      As for what I said about German Shepherds was oversimplified. Along the lines of I wish a healthy diet alone would prevent dreaded hip dysplasia. IVDD is another scary all too familiar issue we GSD lovers have to face too frequently. I am glad to hear your girl recovered well. I know people have different breeds as favorites and I say they've never had a German Shepherd the absolute best dogs. After my last one past about 10yrs ago I said I would never go through that heartache again. Then a few years later my daughter wanted another dog, we found an Standard American Eskimo Dog from a rescue. Supposedly a very intelligent breed, well let me tell you not very smart compared to a GSD...nope not at all. Now for the first time in years I am seriously considering getting another because after all anyone who's ever looked into the eyes of their Shepherd know they hands down the very best dogs of all.
      *The Shepherd looking back intuitively knows exactly what you want and need w/out saying anything. Guard, fetch, walk, or full on goofball they just know.

You made a great point that I'd never really thought about, in that my dog also when in an urban environment, tends to be less reactive/curious/whatever than when we go walking on a nature trail. In the city we'll go right past or through a group of 5+ people and he'll just stroll right past them. On a nature walk though, he's definitely much more interested in the individual folks we pass on the trails...guess I assumed it was due to it being easier to focus on one person versus a large group.

    The Shock Collar. The answer to all your dog training issues!!!! Walk'em on that hot pavement....the dog will do everything you command. I know a woman who didn't stop at just the shock collar - her GSD wears a prong AND a shock. I watched her use the shock collar one day - her 3 yr old dog yelped SO LOUD I though he was being skinned. Congratulations on your excellent influence

    For Kevin's hot spots, have you tried Green Tea Leaf Tree oil? I had a Jack Russel that had HORRIBLE hot spots and that fixed them almost overnight. I was recommended it by a Rottweiler breeder.

    Kevin was perfect. No need to stress him. I took my 6 month old st Bernard to the city for the first time today to start socializing him. Hes about 100 lbs. Hes starting to get some strength.He was great.he was a little interested in the ducks on the creek that runs through downtown but nothing crazy. He definitely does not have the prey drive that my lab did. He was perfect today too

    I have a great pyrenees and when you said "three commands every time Kevin" I was laughing. I think they move so slow you get three commands out before he finishes the movement for the command. lol

    Man, I do like the way you think! Your understanding of him spokes of your love for dogs. He doesn’t have a behaviour problem, he’s a Caucasian Ovcharka and just needed a firm owner who stopped with the stupid positive training. I hope he’s not sick, being lazy and a bit down under hot weather is perfectly normal. But when rehoming Kevin, please remember he will change around 18 months or later. He will try to act out and he will need someone with a nice frying pan in hand. People in his origin countries don’t have e-collars, old ladies who do own the breed have frying pans. 😂😂😂

    My grandpa had one of these but smaller female… even thoug we expected the outcome it still was impressive seeing her deal with a horde of about 10 stray dogs 😂 .. the moment the chain unlocked the hierarchy was established very quickly. No fight but pure submission. They knew who is boss.

    How long was Kevin walking in that heat? I have Newfoundlands and that walk was in the sun with NO water, which my Newf would struggle with. I always take water on walks too. Yes his behaviour was very good but that was one very hot boy.
