The fact that this plane was produced until 2001 means that some Boeing 777 or Airbus A330 are actually older than this "vintage" plane. Also the stall speeds on that thing is incredible.
im a year late but a chinese variant is still in production (paused rn tho) meaning that there is a chance that some new planes coming in a few years may be older than an An-2 (technically Shijiazhuang Y-5 🤓)
They also call it Kalashnikov of the aviation. A very rugged plane, can deliver things where others (aside from helicopters) can't, and is very simple in design, demanding very low tech for repair.
You also forgot the main similarity: both are Russian tech

A simple yet very effective tool is the definition of good design
I've never heard of an uncrashable plane, the creators of that plane in the 1900 were probably 1000 IQ and made the plane immortal!

I heard they designed the flaps and slats so in case the plane stalls, they somehow make the airflow go over them to create lift. and it's a bi-plane so it has double wing surface. Really good for fields and farms. It can even fly backwards if in a good headwind
Really nice to see the Antonov An-2 in MFS2020, it's a legendary workhorse and basically the Twin Otter of the East
There was an AN-2 in front of my local McDonald’s for years, where kids could hold birthday parties and stuff, which was really cool. Now it’s at the airfield where I fly, because there was some kind of an AN-2 celebration or something as it’s still a popular plane in Hungary, mainly used for agricultural purposes
STOL aircrafts are awesome, and actually a kit plane holds the records for shortest take off and landing.

In Hungary, we use it mostly to spray insecticide on plants. And the pilots do unbelievable acrobatic maneuvers, that are most probably not in the operating manual of the AN-2

In Poland, you can sometimes fly it at airshows and etc., and they were so reliable that I have one that stays as a decoration in my school and as I know it still works after 65 years! (edit: We call him " Antek " )

X-Plane doesn't have this physics issue where planes just *have* to stall. If you make an accurate flight model, X-Plane calculates the physics for you
If the An-2 ever comes out as an add-on in X-Plane, be sure to try it
I believe there is a pretty decent freeware AN-2 for X Plane. The model and flight model are much better than the MSFS one, but the cockpit is so dark you can barely see anything.

when its a taildragger and you flipped it over on landing apply breaks gently so it wont flip over and wont put to much strain on it!
