Ooooo I'm loving both those red fabrics too! Amazing finds, and also... I gotta go find out if anyone does fabric swaps around here, cause that is such a fun idea!

That two sided plaid would be super cute in that button down pattern, using both sides. Thanks for a peek into your life. My version of tidy is also very individualized to me! I always say that my clean is messy to someone. Speaking of I need to tidy my sewing room…

Love this vlog. It has everything. Great that you were able to replace fabric you wouldn't use with fabric which is so 'you'.

Reminds me that I need to work on my room. My patterns are a big mess as they are everywhere and not in envelopes. When I moved about a year and a half ago, my sons just carefully boxed up the pattern pieces for me and moved them into my current room. I live with my sons and my stuff takes up 70% of the apartment. Today's plan is to tidy up after a nap. Then maybe finish the knit top. I could grumble and complain but I live almost rent free with my adult sons.
I may put up some mirrors on the doors and set up my thread racks too. I been thinking of culling some of my wardrobe so that I can do a few projects. I really need to donate about half of my books. I cannot put holes into the walls for shelving 😢. Nor can I paint the walls.
Things go in very slow motion because I had hip replacement surgery last month and before that things got so bad that I was in a wheelchair and bed ridden most of the time. I am starting to walk around and I walk around the apartment slowly now. I have a lot of pain from a few abdominal surgeries from last winter. The scar tissue is thick. Takes time to heal.
My current ideas about clothes is anything where the waist doesn't aggravate the surgical scars and cause pain. Some elastic waistbands do cause me discomfort. I think of these tentative clothes as transition pieces.
My son's found a mostly wool black plaid skirt at a thrift store and bought it for me to take the scissors to and turn it into something for me. They also bought me 5 yards of very high quality black ponte knit fabric. A blazer from it would be nicely structured instead of floppy. I can get pants, blazer and a tube skirt put of it. They also bought me 3 yards of heavy black stretch denim too. They were out of town for the day and ran across these very rare bargains.
Growing up, my kids grumbled about me constantly and thought I was certifiably insane because of the sewing, gardening, home canning and home improvement projects. Also dyed my clothes the same shade of black too. Most of them claim that because of this they automatically inspect garment seams and can spot fabric that will look awful after a few washings from a mile away. 😊. So I guess that I wasn't as awful as they used to complain about. I get sick and cannot afford a place on disability and was going to end up in a nursing home. My sons one day show up after not seeing them for over a year and they tell me that I'm moving in with them.
    My mind is random today...

You know what? You could crochet some plant hangers and that would free up the top shelf of the plants are hanging.
    Awesome finds at the swap!

Loved seeing your swap experience. I have the same Bernette sewing machine and it’s been great sewing with it. I’m also an extreme introvert and have come to understand I need alone recovery time after a social event or engaging a lot with my friends. I enjoy your videos; thanks so much for sharing.

lovely to see you smiling so much! I have just moved house and you got me feeling excited about sorting my yarn and fabric (I am a fashion design student so I brought everything from home to swap with other students/donate to the university stash) 😎

So glad i found your vlog. I had such a great time at the swap. Just saw my own fabric on your video. What I picked up was double brushed poly. It's my fav shirt. Hope to do that again.

So sorry about your ankle Cassie - but good you didn’t try to run on it anyways! I hurt my back & haven’t been on my bike in a year even though I usually do a charity ride every Sept so I get the disappointment. Loved your video, love seeing your craft room. The Anker sweater is gorgeous! Did you sew your pants? They are super cute as well. I was knitting away on some socks while watching… thanks for posting! ❤

ok - the blouse and sweater you wore during this video are tremendous! I'm new to your channel and I have to say I love what you are doing! I've been knitting for years and years, but have come back to sewing during the pandemic (along with embroidery). I do all my sewing by hand, so it's a very long process but I really enjoy it. I'm nearly done sewing my second hinterland dress from Sew Liberated, this time with a front placket. Button holes are soooo tedious! :)

Sorry you couldnt run your race, that is so hard.
I was gifted a sewing machine last night from craigslist free! It needs some love but is in awesome condition. I can’t wait to be sewing more. Do you take care of and service your own sewing machine? How does that process work? If you don’t do it, where do you take it? Thanks!
