YUM Leslie!!! Thank you for taking us on a cooking lesson from the Chateau!!! You should do this more often when students are gone! This could be your own little channel!❤❤❤
Rob, I have my solar panels mounted on my roof, 95% of australian solar is placed here. We have restrictions on how much you are allowed to have. Like most people I thought they hinged on the Sunshine until I found out the most overcast days can produce high uv rays as well which is where you get your power from. They are the best investment I have ever made. Mine, 12 years ago, cost $11,000.00au and they paid for themselves in 4 years. I haven't had a yearly bill over $300.00 and apart from my hot plates which are gas, everything else is electric. You won't be sorry. Leslie I didn't realise these was a difference in ingredients weight from one country to another. Everything you made looked delicious, well done. Xx
Really love the music. Maybe at the end of the advent series, put all the carol clips together in 1 video called "Chateau Carols" with some shots of the chateau. Might be an easy video and get lot of new viewers!
I loved the baking and so impressed Rob has learned to tune the piano...Will be a well used skill with the temperature changes. Thanks for ending with a carol.
We have lived in Europe, off and on, for many years. French butter is my favorite!! We always figured out how to bake and cook our favorite receipies from home in North American. Always look forward to your Advent Series! Philemon 1:4-7
Love Leslie in the kitchen! And really appreciate you providing the words to the song so I can sing along at home. I don't always remember the words like I used to so this was very helpful. Great video!
As you know Rob we have been watching for a long time. I just wanted to say that it is really lovely to see you two together in the chateau especially during the Christmas period. Hopefully living in France is making you both really happy. ❤️ the Christmas carols and the baking!
Really enjoyed Leslies baking tutorial! Well done! Its interesting the difference in baking ingredients in other countries good thing costco is in Europe. Rob lovely piano playing to end the video!🇨🇦❤️❤️
A lot of the cookies that my sons love are ones we enjoyed while living in Germany. Figuring out the conversions has been a real challenge! Thank the lord for Pinterest and Germans that now live in the US!
Ensure the Solar Panels will be safe from the Sanglier ( they pushed over your concrete urns ~ so if they are curious they can be destructive ) Electric tape fence surround the panels to safe guard perhaps !
Rob careful with the solar panels they are generating electricity. I would have a really good think about how to mount them; those are 4x6 kites in all the wind. Leslie the buns and cookies looked perfect 👌🏻 Awesome second day
Yes! Leslie in the kitchen making Mennonite buns (that's what they look like to me), and cookies! Rob's activities are interesting too. Thanks for sharing from your Advent days with everyone.
Hi Rob, Leslie! I love watching your videos. Ohio, USA here. My husband and I ran a Church Youth Camp over 17 years. I was purchaser, chef, janitor, pool cleaner, etc. I cooked for 379 people. Rob, I'm exactly like you with holding on to useful items! I have organized trays with IKEA parts, etc. I kept these weird rubber thingies from a galvanized chrome Commercial Shelf. I was laughed at! But, I was right! I forgot what we used them for, but it worked perfectly, like they were made for the project. I save pieces of wood, etc. I cannot stand waste. My husband loves to throw everything away when I'm nagging him about organization. If not, it lays piled everywhere to infinity! 🙄 Leslie, I can't store my sugar, etc like yours because of humidity. I have to put it in ziplock bag. I store my Christmas stuff in 55 gal clear drum liner g bags, placed in wheeled large garbage cans I use white duct tap on the bg can tomatk everything in the can. TIP❗ Make sure the bottom doesn't have holes or slits for water drainage. Having a 3 story home, the g cans with wheels eorked perfectly. Everything stays nice & dry. I also store bedding, off season clothes, etc in the large clear bags. The best are at Home Depot. Many blessings ❤️🎁
Just an fyi from a fellow baker about the salt/yeast thing. It's been debunked many times, so just dump it all in! King Arthur recipes are usually pretty good, and your rolls and cookies looked great! Glad you had some time to experiment, that's the fun part of baling for me! Even in the USA, the weight of a cup of flour varies by recipe writer (and brand of flour). I believe King Arthur uses 125 g of flour per cup. Ina Garten uses 150 g of flour per cup - although she refuses to print recipes in grams. Not to mention that the sizes of liquid measurements still vary between imperial and America. I HIGHLY recommend a scale when baking. I'm really happy to see solar going in! Hoping it will help you heat the house and lower those bills!
Gosh Leslie, you've got me hooked on homemade rolls, so I will probably be making some today. Yours look absolutely yummy with the steam pouring out of them...ahhh. The cookies look mighty good as well. God bless.
Thank you for the advent video series. I thoroughly enjoy the music and singing at the end. Any chance you will be singing "Mary Did you know?" (see Matt and Savanna Shaw channel?) fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and rolls looked so good. Eventually, I would think it will be better to invest in the professional tilt mounts) for the solar panels for professional appearance, safety and efficiency. Are croquet sets available in France? Any chance you will add croquet matches to the activities during student sessions? You could have a croquet tournament that would last a few weeks. How many fireplaces can be used? I would think a few wood stoves could decrease humidity and start heating the chateau. You definitely have enough wood available for heating.
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Interestingly, the final still scene after you finished playing is screenshot worthy. It would make a nice art print for a music room.
Bless your heart my sister. Have you both considered having an Amazon account ? Creating a wish list?? Subscribers can bless you. 😌❤️. Another great episode. Bless you both from 🇨🇦🌹❤️🙏.
The cookies and buns looked delicious but how did the cookies taste? You didn't say. One thing I learned watching Martha Stewart bake is that you don't scoop your flour out of the container with your measuring cup rather you spoon the flour into your measuring cup from the container. I don't know if that brings it to the most accurate weight but you could try that and see if it is correct. 🍪❤
Dear Leslie & Rob❣️ Have you seen the video "Preparing for winter in our Chateau" at Our French Chateau TH-cam channel? There they talk about heating the Chateau and mistakes they made the first years. Things got moldy etc.
Loving the videos and am very happy that you now have solar panels 💗 Have you both considered taking French lessons? I was just wondering as I have heard you say that there has been a few issues with language. Loved the cooking lesson......the cooking and the buns look delicious!! Looking forward to tomorrow..... xo
Lesley great idea for the cooking ideas, there is a lot of echo and we have trouble hearing you, maybe invest in little clip on wireless microphones as other channels use that we can hear you better. Nice episode guys, God Bless
Do you take song requests? My favorite is O Holy Night. I'm exploring bread baking as well. I found the best place to proof bread is in the oven with just the light on. Never fails. Especially in these cooler months. Kind of funny - use more flour for cookies and they will be softer. Use more flour for bread and it will be heavier. See you tomorrow!
How high do your winds get? We have high winds and made our own substantial metal solar panel stands and went the distance to secure brackets and stands. We're relieved our investment has not been lost to gale force winds.
It’s Tuesday and your video is late. I’m thinking the fiber optic cable guys might be there?? That would be great. Or the heat is being installed. I’m just guessing because you can’t leave us a message because you haven’t installed the “community” button so you can leave us a message or a photo. Please add it to your TH-cam page. Thanks. ❤
Lesley have you heard of a Thermomix? With all the cooking you do you might find it a valuable resource (no I am not affiliated with Thermomix, I just own one).
All I could focus on was the open fridge door in the kitchen - ah! Really enjoyed this segment, a nice change and feels homie just like a working Chateau. I have an Idea - how about making a separate channel for your Christian mission/school? It would enable you to showcase and spread the word without having to think about other aspects of making content which you can save for this channel. I know you are very busy but perhaps it could fit in nicely as you document everything and pick out the segments for one channel over the other.
I could be wrong, but I think the fridge door was open as they probably turned it off not needing both fridges when they have no students. I thought the same thing then it took me a minute to figure that out. ☺️
I love to bake, so thoroughly enjoyed the clips in the kitchen with Leslie!

Love the baking and solar panel creativity!!!

Yes, and I hope the sanglier don't decide to attack the panels!
Very atmospheric Advent video with Rob's beautiful piano playing echoing through the halls and Leslie's delicious baking wafting from the kitchen 🫓🫓
Yes! Leslie in the kitchen making Mennonite buns (that's what they look like to me), and cookies! Rob's activities are interesting too. Thanks for sharing from your Advent days with everyone.
Leslie: flour de sel de Guarande is the best! Nice, flakey sea salt hand gathered in Brittany.
Cheap and easy to find at SuperU!
Loved the baking and music xx
Rob make sure those winds can’t rip off any of those solar panels send them flying and shatter them!
Hi Rob, Leslie!
I love watching your videos.

Typos from fat fingers.
More baking, more music, please! Thank you, you people are wonderful!!
I love the baking and the music!
Yes, Rob: save money, save the planet! 👏👏

Love the Christmas music
Oh my those buns look delicious! Great video as usual. 😊
You guys know how to live 😂 for sure! Yummy! HaHa! Ever had guava jelly on rolls with butter? Cheers! Thomas!

I love your kitchen. So organized and great space
Looked yummy...and the piano...love it
I'm the same way, Rob, saving stuff just in case it is needed at a later date.
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Interestingly, the final still scene after you finished playing is screenshot worthy. It would make a nice art print for a music room.
Rob. Could you mount the panels to the roof of the cafe? It would sure look nicer😊

Great video
I love the kitchen! You did a great job in designing it. Maybe move the camera closer next time you cook for us.
Another vlogger had shared her favorite cookie shop in Paris. I can’t remember the exact location but the cookies looked delicious 😋
Fibre Optic Internet cables can not be installed in the rain. 😊 the rolls and biscuits looked delicious 😋
Why not?
@Daihatsu_Hijet the water interferes with the fibre optics. I have 15 years of experience in Telecommunications
@ yeah okay!
I could have told you if there was a dark cloud on the horizon the French were not showing up.

Yum on the buns and cookies. Blessings.
Beautiful
Great job guys nice video.
Hola from Honduras! Really enjoyed Leslie's baking segment. How did the cookies taste? Loved hearing Rob's piano rendition !
Would it be possible to put the solar panels on the roof of the outdoor restaurant? It seems they wouldn’t be quite so visible up there.
Leslie one way to get heat is baking Rob some food
Not a mean comment, but Leslie, the audio during kitchen clips was not the best. Too much echo. Loving the advent vlogs.
Just wondering about the wild boars, would they harm the solar panels?
💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝🙏💝

I really love the version of For unto us you use in your opening. I really need to find the whole Messiah of these performers on Spotify :-)
London Philharmonic, sir Anthony collins directing maybe?
@@chateaudelagrifferaie953 I think I found it: London Symphony Orchestra with Tenebrae conducted by sir Colin Davis.

poor solar panels, at the first winter tempest would land into your neighbour garden

How did the cookies turn out?
It was hard to hear with the echo in the kitchen.
Lesley have you heard of a Thermomix? With all the cooking you do you might find it a valuable resource (no I am not affiliated with Thermomix, I just own one).
Please please tie the hair back always told to do this not just when cookin
