I feel like panners in general are kind of the front runners to the "underconsumption core" trend. We just didn't have a fancy TikTok named trend for it. 😂
I can see that, definitely in the beauty space! Yeah, "underconsumption core" is definitely not a new concept. I think it's funny when things that have been done throughout history suddenly become trendy and are given a different name- like it's a new idea 😂
Just came across your videos! I've noticed that my makeup "consumption" has greatly decreased over the past few years. I still have more than I can ever use, but I remember back in the day, us beauty lovers had the need to purchase every new big launch. We wanted it all. I don't think I missed a palette release there for a solid couple years. And it's crazy to buy that much stuff and never be able to use it before it goes bad. There are still a few things I like to "collect" sometimes so to speak. But it's really just a waste of money to buy makeup just to buy it, especially in the economy we currently live in.
@@kaylalusk4276 New makeup releases are so frequent, I'd imagine it would be really stressful to try to purchase them all 😅 I would dread new releases 😂 I still buy and keep makeup products purely for collectors purposes because of the packaging. I try to limit my purchases to just those when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, so in a way it helps me to buy less...??? Maybe that's just something I tell myself 😂 But yeah, I can't afford everything I want in this economy so I have to be picky.
Great points! Love that you are doing this. I've been working on this as well on a few categories this year and in past. Each year I buy less and less. ❤ Keep up the great work.
I always wondered if I could use body lotion on my face. Face moisturizer is so expensive for no reason. I love the makeup you gave me! Thank you so much for this. It really has encouraged me to be more conscious of what I buy. 💙 this was a great video.
This was such a smart video! You hit on so many points I wanted to comment on but fear I now can't recall them all at the end. I recently noticed a lot of my liquid lipsticks are starting to dry out. Even ones I bought last fall. I did but some duraline to hopefully revive them but it's helped curb the fomo for new fall colors (which I truly don't need, I just need to revisit my collection)
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked it!! 😁 That's so annoying 😬 I feel like a lot of makeup that's made today isn't made to last long. I hate that makeup expires, period 😭 Lol. I just want to collect it and keep it forever 😂
Hey friend!🙋🏻♀️🥰🥰🥰🥰 so it sounds like the “underconsumption” is basically a new word for minimalism, perhaps?🤔 I definitely am trying to be more mindful of what I purchase🤗🤓 specifically with perfume😏🤣🤣🙈
Hi Jamie! 😀 Yeah, pretty much 😂 Mixed with frugality. I think with minimalism the emphasis is on having fewer things and decluttering. Whereas "underconsumption core" is more about spending less money, being more resourceful, and using what you already have. It's not a new concept lol, but it's trendy right now apparently. Probably because a lot of social media is marketing and about selling things but most of us are broke 😂 So these types of trends resonate with the average person. I want to build a perfume collection while being very mindful and selective of the perfume I get. That's why I love channels like yours! 🤗
I feel you on the sharpenable pencils. The only ones I’ll keep purchasing are my Lisa Eldridge lip liners and one or two UD ones for my waterline. But honestly I could probably go a lifetime without needing another one if what I have didn’t expire. Especially eye pencils! I just don’t reach for them-especially if I have to sharpen one 😂
@@CarolynNichole89 you will never guess what happened-I’m traveling for work and I grabbed the lip pencil I brought for today and it wasn’t SHARPENED 😂😂😂 and I’m wearing bright red. Luckily I managed to delicately use it today without making myself look like a 🤡
Ok I need to look into the gold bond with retinol just because I am realizing how much my arms and hands are getting a little crepey 😮 #over40problems 🤣

Yes Jessica! 😂😂😂
So true, Jessica! I do buy a lot but I've bought substantially less than previous years. And we consistently set goals to use our stuff! ❤

I'm gonna pause now bc I wanna watch this in the morning while I do my makeup 💅😁❤️
I agree with you, underconsumption is most people's normal consumption ^^
Yes! I honestly don't know how people afford to not live the "underconsumption" lifestyle these days 😂
This was great and I def wanna chat about this with you later 😘
Thank you! Sounds good! 😄

Yes! I also hate when I have to sharpen them because my lips are always my last step and by the time I get to lip liner I just want to be done 🤣

Great video Carolyn! Loved it ❤
Thank you so much Ruth! I'm so glad!😀
I don’t watch new releases anymore. I’m not minimalist by any means. But I am broke, soooo lol this is so relatable.
Same here! 😂 Glad it's relatable!

Curious as to what body wash you like? I like this video!
I like the fragrance free one from Ivory and Dove has a good one too :) Thank you, I'm so happy to hear that! 😀
