I don't know why, but I lost it when you said "I think I'm going to hire a HORSE". Probably because it sounded so enthusiastic hahaha :D Great guide by the way, very enjoyable.
The messages and victory were delayed because you technically never finished the 2nd siege and went on to 3rd, so the wolf's angry banter had no time slot to trigger lmao.
I think the final wave of engineers don't build siege equipment because your walls are already breached. I played this mission the intended way and they built stuff against me. I expected the one tower to the side to not survive the onslaught, but the siege equipment never attacks it, so I put a bunch of crossbows in there and walled off the stairs and they just rained death upon all the troops the Wolf loves to park out there.
The AI already has enough siege attacking the castle. And since they are not destroyed from previous attacks, they don't build more. So the engineers just sit there.
can this mission be cheesed by surrounding the signpost with towers full of ranged units? i mean there's so much gold, and the walls can be deleted for additional stone
I think you should have gotten a bunch more pikemen for the first wave to cover your lack of wall. You say moat is underused, but I think defensive use of melee units is what's really underused. Its a shame, since they are much more fun to use.
It's funny you should mention Project Zomboid because I was just looking at it. Might do a first impressions video on it in the coming weeks. It looks like it might be up my alley in terms of the 3rd person survival. Quite a bit like Don't Starve in perspective.
If the project zomboid is a little more complete than the gift t starve as there is much variety in both survival xD as if you cold sneeze and attract zombies or the perception of zombies to noise or the various challenges or challenges that come in The game like the house in the forest or the house in flames are also the events like shouts of dying men, dogs barking, elicopteros and planes passing that attract zombies
Wolf is best character. His phrase about your father and duc beauregard was so great

That's an interesting theory, I should try it again sometime keeping that in mind.

why not just destroy the outer castle to get the stone and sell?
If he does that, those siege machines might come directly and attack the inner area
You finally get to make and use swords men and you hardly get a chance to do anything lol

I did it this way, spammed square towers with mangonels in them plus fire archers and crossbowmen. Made the mission very easy :)
26:53 there it is leaving
You're clipping, lower the mic volume

For every unit you lose, you lose score
Yeah this dude finished mission with 0% troop loss on very hard mode... that's as good as it gets...
