There was no war in Poland but the economic situation was very difficult (rationing of food, etc.) We stayed for 12 months in a refugee camp in Latina, Italy. The living conditions in the camp were pretty bad. In 1987 we were accepted as a "designated class" by the Canadian government and immigrated to Canada. Stay strong. Keep the chin up Dear Blogger that keeps us informed. It took us 4 years to rebuild our house. Fortunately, it was insured and eventually got paid. I wish I could do something because no one should have to feel this pain(.
Thanks for your video! And glad to hear that you're safe. You don't need to justify your economic status, nobody has any right to judge you for how much money you have or how much money you make. As long as you're making the world a better place, that's all it matters. But so glad to hear that you're safe.
My Hungarian stepmother was born in an Austrian refugee camp in the wake of the red army claiming their share of Europe after WWII. She, her parents and older brother had to share a tent (which was no five star hotel) for almost two years until an American family sponsored their immigration to the states.
I know that Denmark is not very friendly to refugees but if you find a job it is a really good country to live in. In Kopenhagen are a lot of international companies where you can work with just english. Or you can work in the tourist sector maybe in a hotel in Copenhagen or near the coast And it will not be as crowded like UK, Poland or Germany.
That’s not true at all. We are just really tired of being taken advantage of by badly behaving muslims. Ukrainians already have a better legal status here than the usual “refugees”. (Yes, sucks to be a real refugee if you come from the same places as the “refugees” and look just like them.)
@@fatimateresa19 It depends on the job. You can certainly do some jobs without speaking Danish (especially if you speak English) but of course the options are a lot wider if you learn the language. Many Danish businesses are willing to offer jobs to Ukrainian refugees. Some because they really need more hands and some even open positions just because they want to help them get a good start here. I work at a bank where they are planning to open 20 new jobs targeted Ukrainian refugees.

@ Mette Nielsen Please look at my post which is actually an open reply to your very kind offer. @ T Hansen Denmark still has many good values and principles at its core. On one level the new laws are understandable but IMHO Denmark is still Denmark and needs people like you to stay to give basic principles a chance. Our countries have a shared history for more than a thousand years and joined EEC/EU at the same time in 1973. Republic of Ireland did not join Schengen along with UK and after Brexit the same understanding with UK remained in place so there is border control and common travel around the Archipelagos. But Republic of Ireland Unilaterally dropped Visa control for Ukraianians immediately and we are hoping UK will actually deliver on apparent Promises. Best wishes.
Hang in there, Olga. I cannot imagine what you are going through, but sending your lots of positive thoughts and hoping that you hold up well through all these changes and hurdles ahead of you. Thank you for sharing your life and vulnerabilities and giving us such a thought-provoking look at the realities in the life of Ukrainians. I love your videos so much.
Olga, you are going thru so much right now. I know it feels the weight of the world is on your shoulders. You are a strong woman of good character. You have helped so many people, and me personally, so I know. I have always been grateful to your for it. You will make it thru this. Get some rest, take a little time off and regroup. it will help. Prayers for you and your family.
Denmark does have the strictest immigration policies in the EU so maybe that contributes to your experience. I am not sure how it is in other countries right now. In the Netherlands where I live I know the government is scrambling to find accommodation for everyone (they're redecorating office buildings and hotels etc.) because we have a housing crisis at the moment. Most Ukrainians are now sleeping in houses of Dutch people or at temporary assylum locations.
America sent money to those countries who are taking the refugees in the amount of 1.38 billion thats no chump change. And TAKING in big numbers like that can destroys small economies and cause instability among the native population
In Denmark and all other EU countries you can travel as a tourist for 90 days, you dont need visa, after that you can get asylum, but yes if you want bed and food for free you have to stay in camp, also think they are trying to evaluate for workskills and make plans for future life,we had bad experience with middleeast refugees living on state money for decades, still have criminals that havent left the country,so guess you can say we had enough of that!Poland helping a lot now,but when there were Syrian refugees they didnt want them inside, same with Hungary.
The danish government just made a special law for ukranians so they can get permits for staying and work licens within a few days. Over 10.000 families volunteered to help ukranians with housing and enterpreting so the the rules are much less strict right now😊
No, we don’t. It would be nice if we did, but we don’t. And those refugee camps? People can come and go, unfortunately. We have people who apply for asylum just so they can be housed and fed while burglaring the area. They are kicked out after their application has been denied but they can do a lot of damage in the meantime. Obvious criminals should be branded with an iron, have their arms broken, and then be kicked out of the country, whether or not hey are refugees. If we did that, we could treat decent people much better.

True Western Canada looks like Eastern Ukraine with endless fields of wheat. But they have been living in Kyiv which is a big city. Toronto is the closest thing to Kyiv and also has a huge Ukrainian diaspora, churches, schools, etc. but Britain is also a very good choice. Never feel you need to apologize for the situation you are in, this is not of your doing. It doesn't mean you need to live out of a tent though. Like you mention you have children and you need to think of their well being. Only a few weeks ago you had such a normal and balanced life, in your Country. Please, all least know that the world is on your side, we are suffering with you (although I know it is very different to live this situation in first person with your own kids). Your Country is showing a resilience and dignity that would make any European proud. I want to think we would be able to do the same you are doing, if we were in your situation, here in Portugal. Please keep strong. Those who have a lot of work to do in their Country are Russian Citizens (they have many heroes, doing things I doubt I would have the guts to do: but they have to find their strength in numbers. Here in Portugal, we were occupying African "colonies", our youth fighting a war abroad because our Dictatorship government had the idea those territories were "ours". My father was beaten and was imprisoned several times during that regime, for instance. But, after some failed attempts, we did a Revolution and established a western democracy. It was not easy, but it was done. Russians deserve to know what is to leave in a democratic Country of the 21 Century, and not in some autocratic regime inspired in past centuries references. Heck, in the 1500's, Portugal divided the world with Spain. We were one "superpower" for a while. But times change, and it is so much better to be here in our small little rectangle by the Ocean, in peace with those around us, and going along with all freedom-loving Countries. Sorry, this got too long. Best wishes, with all my heart, for your Family.

You and your family will make it through these hard times. You are a strong intelligent woman. It is a time to be grateful for what you have today and you and your family's safety. I have had many very hard times in my life too and I have great empathy and compassion for all Ukrainian people who are suffering from "Pooptin's" war against innocent people. The world knows that the Russian people are being told lies by Russian State TV. I am thankful that you escaped because s so many of your people are suffering most horribly. Ukraine will win !!!!!!
You are absolutely right: for a solo person, travelling around, moving, spending some days in one country, a week in another, etc maybe it's okay to suit certain people, but not a whole family of all ages. Then it becomes stressful. This is a momentary transition; once you settle down, then the new and regular pattern of life begins: kids in school, working, etc. In other words, it will be back to normal.
My wish is for you and your family to be safe and healthy. Don’t apologize for feeling down sometimes. That’s ok, really it is. Keep being you, that’s what makes you channel so special.

You are in trauma - it is not surprising. Until a few weeks ago you thought you knew who you were, what your place in society was, and felt you were in your own way successful. Within a very short space of time, everything you had defined yourself and your life by has been turned on its head, and you have lost what you thought was your identity in the world. You will, in time, be able to rebuild your life, but the experiences you are going through now will never leave you. Even as you, over time, are able to rebuild your material life, you will have many many years over which you will have to carefully look after your mental health. Don't be ashamed to ask for help.

You cant get a job in Denmark if you dont know the language ,they are very strict about that.
@@fatimateresa19 If you work in tourist business or IT you can. I know people that do not speak danish and that work in the tourist business.
That’s not true at all. We are just really tired of being taken advantage of by badly behaving muslims. Ukrainians already have a better legal status here than the usual “refugees”.
(Yes, sucks to be a real refugee if you come from the same places as the “refugees” and look just like them.)
@@fatimateresa19 sure you can, but you need to be able to talk to customers and coworkers.
I'm glad you and your family are safe. I hope you find a stable life.
I am sorry you met so many obstacles! If you need help with anything, please reach out. I am from Denmark and live one and a half hour away from Copenhagen, with my husband and two children. I hope that you will get a better impression of our country because I know the danes welcome you and would love to help.

ja der findes meget søde menesker i dk, men røvhuller der desværre alt for mange af

det giver ingen mening

i dk måtte mine venner ikke gifte sig og bo..

Denmark still has many good values and principles at its core.
Best wishes.
the Danes love white refugees and hate the non-white ones
Oh Olga, I'm sorry for what you and your fellow citizens are going through. I pray for your peace, safety, and recovery. Much love from America
@@peterfireflylund yeah yeah, take it easy,of course we should not burn or break arms on people,or maybe you think we are russians?
Stay strong Olga. Thank you for letting us have a view into your life. Much love ❤️ from the USA. I have plenty of room here if you need. I will open my home to you and your family.
Oh that is so sweet.
I have told friends that I met through Esty that they can come live with me in my beautiful one bedroom apartment in Carmel Indiana. You and I have huge hearts! It's a blessing and a curse! 🌷🙏🥰💝

I have seen what war does to every day regular people and I hate it. I hate that children have to be uprooted because of the decisions of their politicians.

@@charlie_onesix7665 Since you have extra room you dont need to wait for ukraine people to come to the US, you can take in Mexican, Syrian, Afghani, and Iraqi refugees who are in the US now and need homes!
@DevilDog53 He already said he has plenty of room and is willing to open his home. Im sure there are plenty of Mexican and Afghan families that are willing to move in TODAY!
This is a life no one should have to endure. You are very brave. Praying for peace and the end of this war. It’s gone on too long and should never have happened. May something beautiful come out of this horrific time in your life.God bless you and your family.
I am Hungarian and was in your situation when I was small with the Soviet Union invading. I know how it can be. May God watch over you and your family along with others in your situation.
There is no need to apologize. Peace and Love to you and your family.
Stay strong young lady, thoughts, prayer's and best wishes from the UK. SLAVA UKRAINI !! HEROYAM SLAVA !!
Olga, I think you are doing great. Know that there are many people sending loving thoughts your way.
Hang in there Olga, you are incredibly strong!
Apply to Canada just in case. It can be a long process but the govt promises to streamline it. From the little I see of your background I am sure you would be accepted. Plus the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada is quite large especially in the prairie provinces which look a lot like the Ukraine I am told
Being much more European it will feel much more like home and close to the relatives in Denmark
@@Whatisthisstupidfinghandle as a percentage of the population Manitoba has the densest population of Ukrainians. Churches, cultural centres and schools are everywhere. A second generation Ukrainian was Premier of the province. The Ukrainians are well integrated into every aspect of a thriving democracy.

Hugs hugs and more hugs young lady.Your a great mom
Ahhh hugs Olga. Please dont apologize. Oh no youve been through so much and been so strong. Im surprised your so articulate and can be so strong and your taking care of your entire family. Wow im just in awe of you. My wish is you could take a moment for yourself. Maybe take your phone, listen to some music, let your mom and dad watch the kids for just a few moments and go for a walk. Is spring coming there? Maybe theres a park you can walk in for a few moments. Or put the kids for a nap and listen to some music, find a good book. Just a few minutes maybe in morning and afternoon. And your parents also to go for a walk. Just try to take a break to relax for some time during the day. Im sure its extremely difficult and stressful. I wish i could time travel and be there to help support you and your family. Im sending prayers for strength and peace. All this will pass. We must all pray and be patient. Change will come. I hope things can settle down for you. Was hoping you would go to Denmark and let family help you. Hugs and prayers. Talk with you soon. Give your mom and dad a hug also. Thank you for the video. 😘
I guess it is normal to feel confused and complain. Leaving home under these circumstancies is huge stress. I guess bureaucracy has its place in current situation aswell, as there are some not so good people trying to take advantage of this whole situation. I hope everything will be fine in the end. You will find place to stay for longer and also find some kind of a job.
You never cease to amaze me with your composure while going through such a stressful situation, and with two small children. God bless you 💙💛
I will pray that your situation will get better. Stay strong
Thank you for the update.i feel for you and your situation.prayers and positive vibes to you!
Olga, I just saw on Sky News that you were matched with a Lady, named Fiona in the UK and she is excited to meet you and your family....Stay safe!
You will really know your relatives and friends during hard and challenging times. Ty for sharing your experience and life
I admire you for remaining positive as humanly possible given all that is happening to your country and the situation your family and other Ukranian citizens are in. I pray for peace, an end to this war and for all people impacted by this. Not only for the refugees, the brave Ukrainian men and women who have stayed behind to fight and also for all those helping and doing their best to make refugees more comfortable. Stay strong Olga! Love from the USA.
Thank you. Thanks for your honesty and sharing what is happening. Everything is working out even when it appears it is not. Much love to you and your darlings.
I have lost everything before , so i understand what you are going through, may God continue protecting you!
You are amazing and doing an amazing job. Be proud of yourself, your husband and your family.
Praying for you.
Olga, you are very strong. You don't owe anyone any explanations, and it's so brave and gracious of you to do so💖. You have so much responsibility, but you have a good head and heart and you are clearly making good decisions for your family. Love and support from Steamboat Springs, Colorado, USA❤️☮️✌️🇺🇦
Do not worry, Olga. You are safe now, yes? This is a blessing. You should be thankful. You have a comfortable place to live right now, yes? This is another blessing. In life, sometimes you are up and sometimes you are down. Nobody ever knows what tomorrow will bring. Soon this war will be over. And you will be back up on your feet. I think you are a strong woman. You will be fine. Just try your best. This is all anyone can do. Through this, you will be a stronger person. I pray for you and your family every day.
I was a refugee from California to Ukraine. Now I’m a refugee from there to Western Europe
Such vlogs as yours are the best sources of unfiltered, honest news of Ukraine these days. Thank you! 👍👍👍👍
Agree, smoking places are awful for non smoking people.
I’m glad your life had got better then childhood and I pray you get your joy and peaceful life
Sending hugs to you, your kids and parents.
Never feel you need to apologize for the situation you are in, this is not of your doing. As a father with 2 kids I can understand a little of how you feel, you take pride in providing for your family and now you've come to a point where you need help. It doesn't mean you need to live out of a tent though. Like you mention you have children and you need to think of their well being. It is not about being 'too good or snobby,' it is about trying not to up end your kids lives (and parents as well) as little as possible.
Slava Ukraine!
Stay strong, Olga. You're doing a great job under very difficult conditions. I was hoping to visit Poland and Ukraine just before COVID hit. My Family is from Zdynia, which is now in Poland, but they identified as Ukrainian Lemkos. Ukraine will prevail and I will visit your beautiful country one day. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
RESPECT.. Greetings from Denmark.
This is such a stressful situation for you and your family. You do not need to apologise for feeling sad, anyone would be in your circumstances. I hope you manage to make it over to the U.K., and are able to find a sponsor there. Somewhere you feel free and safe. Unfort we have look into history. Warn doesn’t end in a week or two it can be years . All other pqnedemic times and wars lasted for years . Unfort people though we never have a war again but war with Russia etc has been going on very very long time and due happen . Unfort , the government wanted war right after covid-19 . It’s tough times but we need become tougher than ever before like our great grandparents .
Thank you for keeping us informed. Please stay strong. Somehow it will all work out well.
I wish you and your family the very best. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Better than being in a shelter or on a battlefield.
You are such a strong lady and one of the luckiest ones amongst the refugees. Saying this because I know there are many in worse situation especially the kids without parents right now. As a mother, it is horrible to think all those innocent children without parents. My family and I have space and time to help care for some children.... All legal safety rules will be followed and verted before we can be allowed to take care of a child or children in our home. What a horrible thing to see children walking miles and miles to borders. Worse of all, seeing the ones that have died. I love your Chanel before the war. I also love it now because of your courage and positive spirit despite loosing your home etc. Long live Ukraine. Lots of love from one of the positive human heart and mind in Sweden
Thank You Ms Olga for all the Wonderful videos of Beautiful Ukraine before the War. We are following your journey and hope we have better days ahead. Slava Ukraini
God bless you and your family, Olga!!
This war has shown the world Ukrainians are resilient ,tough but peaceful . You will overcome this ! They say "Into each life some rain must fall."

Just hang in there Olga ! Former political refugee here from Poland now living in US. I've experienced refugee camps and other such places and I understand a little what you're going through but things Will get better ! A lot of people are working on it, we just don't see it yet . It's so easy and quick to create chaos and war & it takes a time to make it all better. You've been so brave and positive for so long and you inspire so many people every day ! You just got tired and you have every right to be discouraged and sad .It's just a bad day Olga, it will pass, don't be so hard on yourself. You're a strong, brave, smart, beautiful human being inside and out. One day at the time girl ! No one wants this war- no one ! Except for a few lunatics ! There are so many good people in this World working hard right now to help . Don't give up, just rest your mind and body as much as you can. Get your sleep no matter what !You're simply exhausted. You've been running on extremely high stress for so long and this is normal reaction to it. It will pass and things ARE going to get better and easier ! Believe me ! I wish I could do more for you. Just thinking about you every day, praying and volunteering for Ukraine here in Chicago with many others💙💛
I feel for you and your predicament. I'm sorry you have to go through this through no fault of your own. Stay strong and stay safe.
You are a strong woman Olga. You are an inspiration; My grandmothers family came to Canada in 1912 from the Ukraine. History repeats its self. Her greatest compliment was when she called me a real Ukrainian.
Olga , I am sorry that you have live in such a stressful situation.I hope that very soon, you , your family, and all around you will be able to return and rebuild . God bless you ,
Thanks for the update Olga. Stay strong. Stay safe. We will hold out hope for you and all the good Ukrainians, good people of the world that there is a better day coming. Slava Ukraini!
