    You dont need to apologize for things not going perfectly! I like getting an idea of what it's *really* like, you know? Those pretty, manufactured videos are nice, but the realness is nice too. Its like a cooking show; that's not what cooking is actually like!
    Its funny bc I dont even make soap nor do I ever plan on making soap. But I love these kinds of videos! And learning about other people's small creative businesses help inspire me and motivate me with mine. Sometimes I watch your videos while I work and it's like working with a buddy :)

    Joanna, it’s so wonderful that you take the time to make these videos in the midst of your work, AND that you are so transparent and real! It doesn’t go perfectly for me so much of the time either, and your attitude is SUCH a blessing, bloopers and all!!
    I have been so encouraged by your videos that I made a beautiful batch of Anna’s Oatmeal and also did some revamping on my butters and PK flakes this morning, (I have them in clear, rectangular tubs now, instead of the previously used 1- gallon organic coconut oil pails, and as a bonus, I can see at a glance how much I have in the container!) and just got back from getting lots of olive oil at Costco!! (You’re right, it’s a great price!!) Thanks EVER so much for being you and for sharing!!! 🙏🏼❤️🕊

    Hi,
    From what I gather, by using pre-made 50/50 lye solution and pre-mixed oil base, one would essentially be soaping at room temperature. If so, what is the chance of a false trace?

    I have been loving your videos! I am wondering about when you say add additional liquid to the lye solution how do you know how much liquid needs to be added?

    • @adelinnmayberry1530
      @adelinnmayberry1530 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you use a 50/50 lye solution you are using the same amount of water as you do lye. Now subtract the water and lye from the water amount in your recipe and that is the extra that is used either in more water or another liquid. That's the extra that Joanna uses for goat milk.

    Hello Joanna
    I absolutely love watching your videos and your enthusiasm is really an inspiration to me. I do have a question concerning this video. I was wondering how you use the honey without burning or making the soap really dark, because I was always told that sugar or anything like that with sugar in it will or can make your soaps really dark when combined withlye. I have been wanting to use honey but always kind of afraid of it, so any suggestions that you have for me would be greatly appreciated.:-)

    Is there no shea butter in this recipe?…
    Also why the sodium lactate?
    Cheers Criss

    • @TheSoapGal
      @TheSoapGal  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Soap Recipe
      Hi Criss! That's correct. The recipe is:
      50% Olive Oil ( Costco)
      40% 76 degree Coconut Oil ( Arizona Soap Supply)
      10% Castor Oil ( Arizona Soap Supply)
      50/50 Lye Solution ( 6% lye discount) ( Arizona Soap Supply)
      Sodium Lactate 1% of base oils ( Arizona Soap Supply)
      Raw Goats Milk ( 0% liquid discount) OuRanch they have a facebook page)
      Sodium Lactate helps to produce a harder bar of soap that lasts longer. Because Sodium Lactate is a salt, it is a natural humectant, which also helps provide moisture :)

      The Soap Gal Thank you Joanna for your prompt response. I recognize for more reasons than one what it takes for you to keep the shop going and respond to your viewers’ questions timely. I saw one of your business videos and cried tears of joy when you opened up to tell us how you battle dyslexia which makes responding a task in and of itself. It touched my heart with joy because both my husband and our great niece have the same challenge. She is eleven and her personality reminds me of what I gather of you. All three of you are evidence of how God can take any weakness and strengthen us through it. Having only discovered your videos two days ago, I am challenged to do what I love to do and never quit! Thank you for being a blessing to millions.
