We were there for 7 nights in August, and it was truly fantastic as a resort. Not ready to call it our favorite yet - that is still Royal Barbados. One thing to note, is that since it is on the North side of the island, the ocean tends to get rough in the afternoons, so if you want to do watersports (paddleboards, kayaks, tubing, waterskiing), it is best to do those before 11:30 am. We had a much harder time getting chairs on the beach (if you wanted one with an umbrella, you needed to reserve it by 7am), but from your video, they have added a lot more chairs and umbrellas (there were none by the Jerk Shack) since we were there. For someone who asked, the swim up and terrace pool suites are in the shade because the sun is in the southern sky and the two Tufa buildings face north - they actually have little privacy as they are right in behind the main pool.
Another great video!! I LOVE how you made a point to mention how this resort is unique from the other locations. I’m booked for July 2026, but now may need to try and sneak in an additional visit before then.
Thank you for posting! Always enjoy your videos! Another question regarding room service, if you have butler can they bring you room service from any dinning venue? Also, curious if you could order a meal "to-go" if you didn't have butler and bring it back to your room?
Thank you for posting! My wife and I are going to SDR in March for my birthday. I first saw your Royal Barbaos video last year before we went, and that resort was amazing. Excited to see what SDR is about. Did ya'll do any excursions while there?
After watching all your videos I booked here at Dunns River but almost changed it to Grenada. I just couldn’t get a room I thought I would love there. I’m hoping that I made the right choice.
Thank you for all the great Sandals videos. Could you please let me know what the room service/in-room dining options are like at Jamaican Sandals resorts? Is the in-room dining menu extensive or does it only have a few snacks?
Glad you like them! The in-room dining is pretty much the same at every resort. Here is one of the menus. cdn.sandals.com/sandals/v11/restaurant-menus/club-sandals.pdf There is a lot to choose from, but no steak or entrees like that.
@@HoneymoonAlways Thanks so much for that menu and for the information. Do they have restaurants or snack bars open 24 hours? The room service seems to end at 10 pm. Also, what all-inclusive in Jamaica has the best room service menu? I appreciate your advice!
Went to the original Dunn's River 24 years ago for our anniversary. Thinking about going to the new one next year for our 25th. How was the service?? Interesting that swim-up suites don't have sun access... does that mean they have more privacy than the other swim-up suites at other resorts? Great video as always!!👍🏻
This will be my first time to sandals resort. Can you explain what resort clothing is for the fancy restaurant for dinner. Also any suggestions on a packing list?
Just curious, how far is the commute from the airport to Dunns River resort?? I noticed there is also an Ochi Airport? So you dont have to fly into Mobay? Im sure the Moboy commute is 90 mins plus?? But the Ochi Airport?? Thanks! Love y'alls videos!!!
The Ochi airport is very close by, but the flights are very limited, just a few days a week during the busy season. Most people fly into Mobay which is around 90 mins with a stop along the way.
The Ochi airport is very small and limited. You would have to schedule your trip around your ability to find flights, which depending on where you are coming from may not exist. MBJ is MUCH more convenient and the 90 minute trip isn’t all that bad. It’s a great way to see what the north coast of Jamaica looks like. I’ve stayed at Sandals RC and had excursions in Ocho Rios and didn’t mind the drive in the least
If this place had a butchs it would be perfect!! We are planning an elopment/honeymoon and narrowing down resorts. I love steak so I would love to go to a resort with butchs. Barbados is calling me but I've heard so many poor reviews lately. Jamaica seems like a good first time sandals since the resorts tend to be cheaper.. so hard!!
It looks so beautiful but did you feel safe? I keep hearing not to travel to Jamaica due to it being reportedly dangerous and lifted to a level three travel advisory recently. But I have never traveled out of the country before, so I don’t really know what that means from a practical sense.
Do not book your flight through sandals, in one month my flight has been changed two times when I ordered the flight. The flight ordered at the time was one of the most expensive flights. The flights they offering me right now where the cheaper flights at the time, and JetBlue is not even trying to reimburse me the difference in price from the original time we ordered the flight. When you talk to Sandal’s customer they are very quick to tell you to get a refund. Not keeping in mind that if you do get a refund you have to pay like almost $500 more than what you paid originally. We booked this for our honeymoon, And all we have had was headaches between sandals and JetBlue

You guys have been to some amazing resorts! Great video!
Thank you!

Thats good to hear they have added more chairs, and thanks for the tip on the early motorsports.

This was a very informative video. We are scheduled to arrive in August and this made me evymire excited 🎉🎉🎉

Thank you! Your butler can bring you food from anywhere. You can order to go for lunch but I am not sure about dinner.
We were there in September, and I miss it so much. Particularly my morning coffee from Blum and the late nights at the Rum Club!
Right!?! Start and end the day in a great way!

Yes, our recommendations are the blue hole and river rafting combo and the catamaran to Dunns River.
Great review, I’m also visiting and working on my own video review of the Dunn’s river resort
After watching all your videos I booked here at Dunns River but almost changed it to Grenada. I just couldn’t get a room I thought I would love there. I’m hoping that I made the right choice.
Both are great choices! I hope you have a great time

We had great service at the resort. I don't think the privacy is any different than at other resorts.

No shorts. Men - long pants and button up shirt or polo. Ladies - skirt or dress. Think church wear, not party wear.
We are excited we have scheduled 7 nights set up for next May. What excursions recommend...
We love going to the Blue Hole and River Tubing.
Miss your Portugal content. Are you still located in Lisbon?
Yes, still in Lisbon! We post more about that on IG.

Ochi airport isn’t international so you must arrive to either Kingston or MoBay.
@@fluffytail6355 they actually have daily flights from Miami.

Dunn does have a great Surf & Turf at Zuka and a Ribeye at Cascata. If you need help, we might be able to save you time with a quick call.
Thank you
Hello. Would you do this resort or sandals Curacao?
I’m looking to go the end of August 1st week of September
Sandals Curaçao is getting more of a party location reputation
Swim up pools being in the shade are a selling point for me. I’m a white girl who burns like crazy in the sun.
It looks so beautiful but did you feel safe? I keep hearing not to travel to Jamaica due to it being reportedly dangerous and lifted to a level three travel advisory recently. But I have never traveled out of the country before, so I don’t really know what that means from a practical sense.
We've always felt safe and I believe the advisory was not increased, they just put out more details about the level three.
Stay on your resort and at tourist attractions and you won’t have an issue with safety.

We used miles to redeem our round-trip flights 😅 you just update your booking with the flight info and you’re all set
It would have been so romantic if I could go to this Sandals with you, Dan.
