How did you get it so when you put the car in reverse it pops up on the screen? I've gotten everybody connected and the camera is only active when the car is in reverse
@@messagemiller yea I just installed it yesterday. Haven't had much time to see how good it is but so far the only problem is it's kinda a fingerprint magnet. You only see it when it off though. I originally had the outher version of this which was restisive which the screen and colors looked kinda bad so I went with this one. Its super fast and the screen feels great, the only outher problem I've heard of is it might be very reflective
@@LockdownSecurity hey bro.... Thanks for the reply.. Would you by chance be able to give recommendations on a stereo for a 2011 extended cab ranger... Mypremonitions2020@gmail .... I appreciate and help
What is the actual BOM on this setup... I have same but non jbl and no entune... but want to move rear from mirror to stereo and disable the rear only views so I can see any time...
Curious to know if your Tacoma's voice command button (on the steering wheel) was able to be mapped to a voice assistant in either the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay app.
Did you install this radio into your tacoma brother ? I have an old pioneer that doesn’t have carplay and wanna upgrade. I also have a 2008 Tacoma. Trying to get it higher tech to keep it a few more years. How do u like it and what all other parts and adapters did u have to get? Thanks
@@messagemiller Sorry just saw this. I ordered from Crutchfield and had a local installer put it in with new door speakers, amp, and subs behind the rear seats. I love the radio. A little bright at night time but not to bad. I am sure there is a setting for it but I don't think about it until I drive at night. Not a good time to be playing with the radio. When you buy the radio from Crutchfield they will add in what you need for a great install. The only thing I got that I probably would not get again is the Maestro. It does not function right or is not installed right. I think that all it does is integrate the low air system for tires and some gauges in the dash. I thought I needed it for the steering wheel controls. I am pretty sure I did not. But Crutchfield can answer those questions. My everyday ride is a 1990 Toyota Pickup and I don't even listen to the radio in it. I am a diesel mechanic and the 90 is my I don't care (I really do) truck. Been driving it for 23 years.
Hey bud was curious. Can u mirror the Apple iPhone to the screen using the hdmi to lightning cable and something like the I-simple cable which inputs to the aux input ?
@@messagemiller You can not play any videos on the screen through USB/Lightning. Only carplay will work that way. It will allow some apps to work. Amazon music, Waze, Google Maps, etc. But no video. I don't know if you can connect the other cables and mirror a video. I did not hook it up that way. I bought a USB two plug adapter off of Amazon and installed it in the dash to allow a cleaner hookup for my USB cables.
Hey Doug. Sorry for the extra questions. Got this unit in finally and really pumped. Can you by chance tell me what speakers you got for the doors or tweeters and If u got any mounting brackets for them ? If i happen to have any links that would be awesome. Might as well complete the system I guess. Ha.
Hi. I installed this Kenwood with the Maestro RR on a Subaru outback 2010 3.6 w.o nav. Perfect in most cases, but: I found that the GPS accuracy using carplay or android auto is MUCH WORSE than with the celluar device by itself, at identical conditions. So instead of the GPS antenna helping the Navigation it is interfering with it. GPS antenna installed properly according to instructions and there is no nearby interferance. Anyone had this problem? Thanks. Yuval Golan.

You must power the camera via ACC or IGN, and only run the reverse trigger to the radio.
