A twin velocity crashed Aug 1, 2023 with I believe two UL Power Turbo UL520T fue to engine failure.

Cheap, lite ‘n reliable makes a good aircraft engine, not necessarily this order. Sadly these metrics are very squishy and the combo is hard or impossible to find nowadays. Thoroughly sorted out Conversions seem like the way out dilemma but that’seasier said than done 😢.

I thought I read that S21 might have had a prior ground loop and possible prop strike? Not sure if that's correct. Would be nice to hear more info from UL Power on this. It's my current choice for my S21 build, but nothing gives you pause like a crankshaft failure! ;)

Jon does not put engines in his Zenith aircraft.
Rather, he bolts a Zenith airframe to a ULPower engine.
Actually, his current 750 Super Duty build is being documented in Kitplanes Magazine.

BeautifuI assembly.... but I still can't believe . people still use air-cooled engines on aicrafts in 2024... IT Looks like aviation is resistant to evolution.. The car Industry is 30years ahead aviation.

But air is always available to do the cooling.
When a car engine's liquid cooling system fails, the car comes to a halt in a cloud of steam at the side of the road.
An ovrheated car does not fall out of the sky like an aircraft would.
Can you see why some aviators distrust the Rotax 9 series engines and their liquid cooling?
That said, liquid cooling was a standard feature of many a WWII era aircraft engine as was forced induction.
The Rolls Royce Merlin, for example, was both supercharged AND liquid cooled.
