Maybe Spikes fears would be a little bit more believable if there had be difficulties between changelings and dragons in the past. Maybe a war, or maybe they were once natural enemies or something like this. And it's weird that both, Twilight and Starlight, were encouraging and helping him in his attemts to keep the two apart. Well, at least this means that the whole thing isn't Spikes fault alone.
Aside from this weirdness it's a pretty nice episode for me. Nice new insights in Thorax's and Ember's personalities (who would have known that Thorax can be so protective?) and nice insight's in the "political/cultural landscape" of changelings and dragons.

XROSS - GAMES When Spike dorsal start glowing, i though that this show it was crap. I mean It show that even without the mane 6, the element of harmony, the map will still find a way to preserve harmony in equestria.
But well, since i heard the song '' Flawess '' multiple time, i'm less eager to criticise the writer. Everyone is Human and is doing his best !
im not sure, i mean, spike is part of the team too, yeah he is a sidekick and all that but come on he deserve it, i think the map just would choose those who are par of the team, like starlight and spike, i mean, i don't think the map would call derpy for example, i wonder the CMC but they have already their job
XROSS - GAMES the fact is that all the map episode until season 7 has been solved by the mane 6. Back at the end of the season, the tree of harmony created the castle and by the same occasion, the map and the thrones for the mane 6. It was logical that the element of harmony were the one chosen by the map since they have a link with It.
But It appear that It isnt the case, i think they might be some condition to be called by the map, and i think it's the level of expérience in friendship. Spike and starlight have both learn a lot of lesson trough the series, so i guess they were worth it.
im pretty curius about what kindof magic have that map and how does exactly work
XROSS - GAMES Btw i have an other Theory. Remember when the castle rise from the earth ? There was 6 thrones with the cutie mark of the mane 6, plus one little thrones. Maybe Spike was already linked with the map.
Also remember when Starlight '' Fix'' map, or use his energy to travel trough time ? Maybe that created a bond between her and the map

So the map called Spike to solve a friendship problem thats something new. How about an episode where the map is calling Rarity and the goth pony Inky Rose to solve a friendship problem ?

Thats is easy. If they are a bit civilised, it's probably gonna be some sort of parade like male fighting against each other to show who is the strongest, same goes for the female. Then only the strongest mate with each other, so the blood of the Dragon stay strong and rich, or thing like that. I could see them do that With their actual mentality.
Option 2- it's like in the Jungle, where the Alpha of the pack is the only who can get thd girl.
Option 3- Male Dragon with manly voice - " HEY YOU"
female With manly voice- " ME ?!"

Hamilton concerns me. He doesn't make bad episodes but there's something he usually messes up in the episodes he's written so far. First was Dash suddenly accepting 70-80% of the blame regarding her parents and this one being how willingly Twi and Star helped Spike advance his fears rather then quell them. I can definitely tell he worked as a writer for Korra because the writing for that show was all over the place at times; sometimes unbearably so actually. Its just sad to see these little hiccups in writing for his episodes just casually put in like there's nothing wrong with them. I don't hate the guy but as I said before, he concerns me
I felt the same way! It seemed out of character for twilight to not soothe Spike's worries. It seems like she should have assured him their was nothing to be afraid about, instead of just egging him on. It didn't seem to match up with what she would do.
Riley Rini Honestly, I blame Hamilton. Any other writer would've handled the situation better and while I did like the episode, there wasn't an excuse to have both Star and Twi not try and soothe Spike's worries. Spike is still a kid and I understand his fears but because of Hamilton's writing, people are gonna blame him just like they agreed with Dash taking almost all the blame back in Parental Glideance. Its irritating and it reminds me of when I used to watch Legend of Korra(since he was a writer for that show). Creating conflict for the sake of conflict. I let it go back with the Dash episode but this is all on him this episode
+Cesar Pena I actually really loved parental glideance, but this episode bugged me. The conflict felt so weak. I mean, there was no real reason for Spike to feel the way he did. Sure, ember and Thorax have different personalities, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't get alone. He didn't have a real motivation behind his feelings. Btw, I'm not trying to hate the show. This show is literally amazing, especially this season, but this episode just mildly annoyed me.
Riley Rini The only real issue with Parental Glideance is in fact how poorly done the resolution was. It was one instance that undermines the idea of who was to really blame for everything.
In this episode, Spike's fears are understandable because he knows both his friends so well. It may have been an assumption, but he felt that they wouldn't be compatible and that their meeting would simply cause tension between the two while hanging out with *both* of them. His fears are very well founded for someone so young as they're very common for those who have one group of friends who are simply not like another group of friends they hang out with. Its wrong to assume but its a person's nature to assume the worst and that mentality is strengthened when you actually know the people your friends with quite well. He had every reason to fear this "what if" outcome but the real problem is how those around him did nothing to reassure him or brush away his fears. Instead they went along with it which inevitably and unnecessarily prolonged the conflict. In actuality, Spike truly wasn't to blame for having these fears. Its the fact that no one tried to make him listen to reason where Hamilton messed up.
You really can't blame Spike for trying to look out for things but you can certainly blame both purple horses for not trying to assess the situation properly. I'm more annoyed that Hamilton did this sort of thing *again* when its very clear that any of the other writers would've handled the scenario better. I like Spike and also understand his journey growing up but Hamilton once again made a situation where the end result was blaming someone else almost entirely for the wrong reasons. I was going to let Glideance go as that was his first episode on the show but making the same mistake *twice* is a no go for me. 2 strikes Josh has on this show. I hope he doesn't go for a third because I've never been so back and forth with a writer for mlp before

I mean why? Why the many colors why the glitter?? Why EVERYTHING???! Why don't make a I don't know Firefly like design, in white or something for showing their change from the dark side to the bright side? Or even a Butterfly like design would be alright... Spike episodes are pretty poor overall. Had there ever been a good Spike episode? At best, they've been average.
