“Just feeling like everything is off”, nailed that explanation. I very often reach out to items to touch a wall, table, or a counter just to get cantered again, and I am not dizzy.

I suffered 2 rear end car accidents within 3 weeks time. After the second accident my neck felt like mince meat. . Everything you mentioned (vestibular, cognitive & visual symptoms), I have experienced. 3 1/2 years later I still have PCS symptoms. I max out nutritional & exercise support however my neck has tightened considerable since the PT ( myofascial release) concluded. Based on your well presented lecture I will go back for more PT on my neck.

How can we seek help if we have no clinic in our area? I sent a request through your website but could not find and actual way to contact your office directly. After listening to this podcast we are nearly convinced this is what my son is suffering from. We've been through vestibular therapy but after 6 months his symptoms remain almost exactly what you describe in this podcast.

Hi Scotty, We don't offer treatment at our headquarters. So treatment must be sought through Complete Concussion Management clinics; this is why we don't take calls at our headquarters. Hopefully we can get a clinic near you soon!

Acupuncture will treat these problems in much the same way as he's describing

Is craniocervical instability generally something not to worry about following concussion and whiplash? The only thing concerning to me is that my neck exercises flare even my nausea and anxiety, increased heart rate etc. My osteopath and physio think it’s just a muscular issue but I haven’t had an MRI

They are probably right. But the neck is also tied to autonomics which could be an issue here. Craniocervical instability can be a huge driver of concussion symptoms and this autonomic dysregulation...but there is often more to the picture (inflammation, autonomics, stress/anxiety, etc.)

@@CompleteConcussions thanks - are they tests like MRI you recommend to rule it out or is this usually solely based on severity of symptoms and manual assessment by the practitioner?

15 months TBI/PCS, still have a very stiff neck. Why do all my docs keep telling me to stay away from chiropractors in regards to neck treatment? My activity overload tolerance is around 1-1.5hrs before symptoms getting brutal, is activity overloading brain, neck, or eyes?

Unfortunately many physicians will deter patients from seeing chiropractors and will cite the "dangers of neck manipulation" as the reason. These "dangers" are basically unfounded as the risk of serious complications following manipulation are extremely extremely rare. You have a higher chance of serious complications from taking over the counter painkillers. So any doctor that deters you from seeing a chiropractor is not well educated on the evidence, the risk profiles, and the benefits of these treatments.

There are doctors who specialize in upper cervical spine.
