    i love the coleco kids myself. I still have most of my childhood coleco kids. I was about 6 when they first came out. My mom and grandma battled the stores and crowds to make sure i got one for Christmas that year. I still have her. Mildred Emeline (i kept her original name) She has seen better days but i loved her so much. Still love her, The following year i got a preemie, again mom and grandma braved the crowds to get me one. and over the years i got some here and there for christmas and birthdays.

    Actually Martha Nelson Thomas js the original creator of these lovely dolls. Xavier Roberts visits some place where she lived before and bought those dolls and capitalized on these. Which is sad that she never get any recognition on these. They also made a netflix video about this. Tbh i don't look Xavier Roberts the same way! As a creator I'm hurt by this.

      He didn't completely steal the idea from her. He had worked with soft sculpture before meeting her. Together they made some dolls and for whatever reason they separated and started making them separately. Her dolls didn't catch on as much. She sold the heads and the makings for the body but you had to put them together and stuff it. He had the idea to name them and have the kids "adopt" the doll which was most of the reason for the craze over them. Personally I think her dolls aren't as cute. Try all had the same headmold where as he had diff ones. The everyone is unique concept also helped his sell. There was some animosity and he could have handled it better but he didn't totally steal the idea

    Great video! I've loved Cabbage Patch Kids since my childhood in the 80's, so they hold a special place in my heart & I've kept one of my special childhood ones that my Dad got me & since collected various ones & I now just have some of the Coleco ones & one of the 25th anniversary dolls as I liked their closeness to the originals. :)

    Actually coleco did produce all vinyl dolls. The splashing kids and the splash and tan kids. Also it's pronounced cole echo like the boys name Cole and the word echo. That one red/ orange haired short girl is so small because she is a toddler or a preschooler they did make bigger ones then but they did progressively get smaller. Great job tho! If you continue collecting you'll prolly learn a lot more about them. I've been collecting for so long I think I know almost everything about them haha

    I only have three and they are all Coleco from 1985. Two were mine for birthday and one I bought, and the third was my grandma's who bought hers around the time I bought mine. My grandmother passed in 2011 and I inherited her. I would love to find other Coleco dolls. While looking at this, some of the lines look more like each other than others.

    To remove the pox you have to take the head off and then pry the stopper off the head and wash the inside of it with dish soap and clorox and brush it with a tooth brush until all the slimyness is gone and then let it dry really well and put the stopper back on then get a cable tie and put back in the next and put the head in and then pull the cable tie right and cut then end off. Then you take oxy face wash and put over the dolls head and wrap it in plastic wrap and let it sit in someplace hot for a few hours and then wash it off and repeat until the spots are gone.

    • @Kewpie83
      @Kewpie83  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We tried that. It actually helped a lot. There are some stubborn spots, but the CPK is much better now.

    I’ve always liked their talking cabbage patch dolls with the corn silk hair and just the corn silk hair ones and i like the newest ones with the tall plastic bodies that look like the American girl dolls to. I mostly like robotic talking or moving dolls though. But I love you’re cabbage patches and the main one I like a lot is the one with black hair and has a vinyl body with a purple out fit.

    A couple of things: the pox is basically mold in the vinyl. Pox affects preemies and babies from the P factory. Also, Coleco made an all vinyl doll. I think they were called Splashin’ kids or something like that. Lastly, Play Along is owned by Jakks Pacific.

    Alcohol or nail polish remover I'll probably get her Cabbage Patch Kid chicken pox off and don't worry if you get nail polish remover or alcohol in dry I don't think it comes off her eyes are pretty well painted so they might not come off so you might want to try and avoid the eyes cuz if you rub it too much her eyes will start coming off alcohol is like a less stronger version of nail polish remover but it probably will get it off one of the two will probably get it off also the Cabbage Patch Kids are really cute I actually went to a thrift store today and I found a Cabbage Patch Kid from 1982 I cleaned your face up and everything and she's actually in really good condition for Thrift Store her hair her yarn hair is rarely like straight she has a couple stains there and there but she's good for the most part for a thrift store good luck trying to get the chickenpox off your good Cabbage Patch Kid

    • @mellobunnymonster3737
      @mellobunnymonster3737 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idk if you've fixed the poxb or not but some ppl have had success with zit cream. You do have to remove the head but you can put it back on with a new zip tie just make sure you align the big part of the zip tie with the little flap on her neck that is meant to cover it up.
