    Great info. As an RN (past critical care experience) working in the jungles of Panamá, we use most of these resources frequently.

    I took a EMT-B course at my local college just to do it for training and knowledge. I passed and got my national license, and now I've got great knowledge and training for a boogaloo type situation.

      Hey what does boogaloo stand for? Is it an acronym?

    Excellent advice and signposts to some solid resources. Thank you Matt. Hope to see you again soon when travel opens up. And there needs to be a UK trip for SDR to Rescue Global for us to collaborate in the near future. Stay safe, keep smiling 👍

    In the 90’s my brother had a really rough appendectomy, we were instructed afterward to pack the un sutured wound with sugar, covered with gauze until it healed. Big scar but it worked!

    What are your credentials.
    Are you a MD, PA, Paramedic, RN?

    • @Ace2021
      @Ace2021 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Doe look in the show notes, he’s a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. This translates to Paramedic as far as credentials, but these guys IMO are trained to the level of a PA.

    • @JohnDoe-tn8yj
      @JohnDoe-tn8yj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it doesn't, and its definitely not to the level of PA, and I know its not Paramedic training.
      Still would like to know his credentials. Or is he just teaching TCCC monkey skills and calling himself a medical professional?
      Big difference between being a military medic and being a Paramedic, PA, RN, et al.
      If he is, he is. Still would like to see proof, lots of ppl claim.to be a Paramedic, most arent. Lots of ppl take a EMT course, a TCCC course or the military equivalant and claim to be a "medic". Putting on a bandage, a TK dosent a medic make.
      But, maybe he cant speak for himself?
      P#? Graduating class? Clinicals?, internship? NREMT#? CCFP#? CCT-P#?
      PA liscense? RN liscense?

    • @Ace2021
      @Ace2021 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      John Doe If he is actually a former 18D (SF Medical Sergeant) then he at least once held Paramedic credentials, as that is the requirement.
      As for you saying it isn’t the level of a PA.....for sure baby 18Ds are not. But seasoned 18Ds know a lot and can even perform chest tubes.
      I was deployed to Afghanistan as a regular US Army medic (68W) and saw this shit firsthand. Even our ER doc that was attached to us was impressed by the 18D and said he knew more than most PAs.
      I don’t see Tim Kennedy having him as part of the team and being some dude off the street who took a TCCC course.

    • @kendrafrench7198
      @kendrafrench7198 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get that you are interested in creds, but I’d trust this guy 85,000 times over than my primary care doc. If you’re asking @ this just to be an ass, congratulations.

    I spent four decades building an austere medical library which finally ended up being over two hundred volumes in depth, plus a few hundred medical journal publications relevant to austere medicine. All of it was destroyed in a house fire 13 October 2017. I'm still sickened by the loss.
    To add insult to injury, Allstate would not reimburse me for my book losses (I lost over 1500 volumes total including many that can not be replaced). They essentially wanted a list of every title, when and where I bought it, and how much I paid for each. I guess I wasn't in such good hands after all.
    My library included the books featured in this video and I chose to comment to suggest several other books that one might want in their library. If there is enough interest, I will make further suggestions in an additional comment.
