Trains & Buses at Marshall; Crossing V/Line Trains - Victorian Transport

- In this video we visit Marshall, a small station situated in the southern suburbs of Geelong. Here we see some V/Line Vlocity trains arrive and depart the station and at some trackside spots nearby, including the Marshalltown Road level crossing. Marshall only features a single platform with a crossing loop, which allows trains to pass one another. We see the crossing loop in action as a V/Line N Class locomotive hauled train crosses a Vlocity sitting in the platform.
As well as V/Line Geelong line services we also see some McHarry's buses at the station, with Marshall being served by routes 40, 50, 51 & 55. Buses seen include Scania K280UB's, Scania K310UB's, and one of their newer Scania K320UB Hybrids.
Marshall station originally opened as Connewarre on the 14th July 1879, and was renamed Marshall on the 1st April 1907. The original Marshall station closed on the 14th October 1957. On the 26th April 2005 a new Marshall station opened to serve the growing southern suburbs of Geelong, and served as the terminus of the Geelong Line until it was extended one stop further to Waurn Ponds in 2014. The station is fairly basic with a simple platform with a ticket office, some toilets, some small shelters, and that's about it.
However the station won't remain in its current state for too much longer. As part of a project to partially duplciate the line from South Geelong to Waurn Ponds, Marshall station will be completely rebuilt to construct a second platform with a footbridge. Major works will begin next year with construction to be completed in 2024.

13:18 these Scania hybrids are amazing. I think other bus companies in Victoria are ordering some Scania and Volvo Hybrids, like Westernport Buslines, LaTrobe Valley Buslines, Seymour Buslines and also McHarry’s Buslines.
Exactly right. Seymour and Latrobe Valley will have the Volvo B5LH Hybrids with Volgren Optimus bodies, while McHarry’s and Westernport will have the Scania K320HB Hybrids with Express bodies. I wonder what will the electric buses look like for McHarrys. I am pretty sure that it could be the BYD D9RA, or the Volvo BZL, with the express body
@@Joshua-ov3dxi think that McHarry’s might be choosing the BYD D9RA Express bodied buses or the brand new Scania C250EB buses.

VL71 was certainly smoking up! Something not quite right there.
Indeed I was surprised to see it smoke up like that. Must be going back to it's Xplorer/Endeavour lineage as they are known for smoking up.
0:31 wow!!
I was thinking the same thing
I was certainly surprised to see VL71 smoke up like that; very unusual for a Vlocity to do that.
@@ThebusofdoomFSX steam train vibes!
Interjession I think lol
Gave it too much throttle i think

VL71 probably needed to be looked at! I don't think it's meant to smoke so much...
Nah it was on full throttle
I reckon the driver of VL71 is wacking it straight to full power. Which would explain all the unburnt diesel in the exhaust. Either that, or the injectors are dirty as hell. lol
40 has got to be the weirdest bus route in Geelong. Then again there’s 23 or 49 though.
I WAS RIGHT!!! I GUESSED IT
VL71 Farted Twice, I don't think that's supposed to happen.
😂😂😂
The literally maxed out the throttle.
