Anne Sexton was an absolute genius. 45 Mercy St is one of those poems that should be required reading in schools to teach kids what true wordsmithing is. And Peter Gabriel did an amazing tribute to her with this. Wow.

It hit me like a tsunami, and I spent years trying to find out why. I never found found why and later realized knowing the reason wouldn't,t make me feel better.
Amy, so sorry that you lost your Dad at such a young age. That in itself is a lot to deal with. Then learning how your Dad “really” died is such a traumatic event for you to experience. I pray you’re doing well. I can relate to finding connections and comfort in music(as well as movies, plays, etc) Sometimes writing down your thoughts for just you can be really helpful and cathartic.
