Original horsepower of a 1955 Simca Vedette engine is 75. Have not timed acceleration but it is not impressive. The torque of the V8 engine is impressive, I can drive in 3rd gear almost to standstill without problems.
@@ferrochinabisleri1587 It is a 1957 engine. Up to 1955 Vedette used Ford V8-60 engine. From 1955 Simca modified the Ford engine. It looks very much like the Ford engine but not a single thing fits between the engines. I found it through the Swedish Vedette club and restored it. Restoration cost more than restoring 3 Chevy small block. Many parts like bearings had to be manufactured and pistons were made in Australia.
Fantastic! A very small V8 in the fragile Rekord. Not a Frankenstein. Wonderful!
Läcker bil med v8, och snygg. Bra gjort!
Ein adäquater Motor wieso nicht serienmäßig? Da wäre sicher Nachfrage!
Heiligs Blechle! Der Wolf im Schafspelz 👍
bizdede vardi ama motor 1700 sizinki devasa v8
I felt it will split to half when speeding , I like the rear axle whining noise on second gear
Windy or not, it sounds *_magnificent!_*
Einfach genial :-)

What engine did you put in, a Ford flathead V8?
2300 ccm V8 from Simca Vedette.
@@thomaslinden.2507 In short, a Ford V8 flathead made for the Vedette, I don't think it was easy to find it.
