    One thing I’ll add for those saying Brady did it, Tom did it in the final years of his time in NE due to the drama going on with Belichick and even then it was OTA’s he stopped going to. Not minicamp. Once he signed with Tampa he went to every single practice. Comparing apples to oranges there.

    Packers fan here. It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I will say this.... Him being on the Packers for 18 years you hear him preach to everyone else how everyone must be, "all in" all the time, you slowly start to see that he is the one that's not really all in. Now we glady put up with it over the years seeing he was prime aaaRodge. You put up with the bad of someone when the good is so good. And since his time in NY is limited, you guys will also do the same being desperate for high level QB play. There is just quite a bit of double speak out of that guys mouth. Do as I say, not as I do.

  • @yoholmes273

    Unless "the event" Rodgers purposely skipped mini-camp for was a wedding or the birth of a child, there is NO excuse.
    Period. End of discussion.
    Rodgers is a 20 year NFL vet who, obviously, should know better.
    Fact is, all Rodgers has done is further exemplify that he knows he is above the team.
    The whole circus last season of Rodger's claiming he would come back from catastrophic injury the same season was not only hilariously absurd but entirely & grossly narcissistic.
    Now, all of this does not ultimately matter if Rodgers balls out this season leading the Jets to serious victories.
    However, one thing is for certain, it is Rodgers world and we are all just living in it.
    If you dont believe me, just ask him....

    Just another person hopping on the hate bandwagon, the patriots are no threat. The titans aren't much of a concern once we shut down their running game which should be a breeze with our elite defense. Rodgers has also done this in the past and is still an elite MVP quarterback, one mandatory mini camp missed doesn't change anything.

    I don’t see what the big deal is.. First off it’s not like the front office didn’t know about this months ago.. If they would have come out and said that it was an excused absence bc he talked to us about this months ago, it wouldn’t be a big issue but bc Saleh said it was unexcused, now it’s a big deal..!!

  • @tonyjohn8111
    @tonyjohn8111 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Any outsider opinion doesn't matter unless they know the reason why Rodgers wasn't there. Saleh's response was on point. His focus was on the players that were at camp. What's the purpose of having mandatory minicamps right after OTAs and a month before training camp starts anyways?

  • @codyfox2876
    @codyfox2876 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    At the end of the day, if the Jets win the division this year then this won't matter. If however the Jets don't win the division and miss the playoffs, then this will be part of the narrative. And I think that's fair. He was fined so the Jets didn't set a wrong precedent or create any ridiculous double standards. Now it's up to Rodgers to prove that Ayawaska benefitted him more than mini camp. If he proves it, then he'll be able to brag but if he doesn't, people will talk.

  • @wiseian8473
    @wiseian8473 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A fair assessment but the team also needs to bond with the other QBs in the room and that was an opportunity for them to do so. Rogers could get injured again then what do we do then?

    Of course no players will have an issue with it publicly, they don't want to add to the media circus. But Rodgers has put himself above his teammates for a long time. He makes no bones about it that he wants and expects to be treated differently and better than them. But if you think his act doesn't rub teammates the wrong way I have a bridge to sell you. You think it didn't rub his teammates in GB the wrong way when he threw teammates under the bus in press conferences? They just couldn't say it because he is who he is, doesn't make it right.

  • @AlanAbrams

    It's news without really being news. While it's not a big deal, it definitely could have been handled differently. As far as opinions outside of 1JD go, they don't really matter if the people inside the building are on the same page.

    I understand Edelman's thoughts and they do make sense, but at the same time this is the Jets we're talking about, and if something isn't obviously off kilter then it is well hidden. Rodgers needs his reps and to get on page with his teammates, but from what I've seen he's been a fairly active participant so far this offseason, so I'm not certain how big of a deal this is.
    The team's response should be fining him, and I can't imagine he'd raise a stink about it. The players response will determine the actual issues and so far they seem to be acting like it's not a big deal. But, unfortunately, these are Woody's Jets, so though there'll absolutely be a collapse this season I'm not sure that this mandatory minicamp skip will be a part of it.
