It would be nice to have the gm in place now with plenty of time to get his scouts in place and scouting players. And for him to evaluate the roster now and see what the best case scenario for the team moving forward, i would be down with just hiring this guy and not look back.
He's definitely a great football mind honestly I wouldn't mind it because I feel like he would attract a lot of free agents and make the Jets a destination for free agents to come if need so and throughout his connections, but I don't want us to move too fast I want us to at least get some more interviews going around them up to see who's the best one
I thought he would’ve got it with I believe the team was the Steelers but I’d definitely give him the job. He’s competent and has the mature personality to deal with this kinda market. If you ever watch him talk about players before they enter the draft he’s spot on. The only cause for pause I would consider when looking at some of these GM candidates from winning franchises is they were not the head of operations, just a part of it with input so it’s not guaranteed all the time they can handle a rollercoaster franchise such as the Jets. I would hope so but still
My issue with Riddick is the lack of experience. Joe Douglas had good talent ID, sure he had some misses but he had a good eye for players. Joe D’s biggest flaw was his inability to bring in the right coaches time after time. Riddick might be a great talent evaluator but why I want us to reach for the stars a bit more and go after a John Dorsey for example is because they know how to bring in coaches that execute good game plans and build winning cultures which we desperately need.
I wouldn't be against it, dude has a million connections. Only thing is he has no college scouting experience. I would not be mad at all. Dude gets it.
Louis was awesome when he first started working at espn. Dude was on point bigtime. All ball. I remember him pounding the table for OBJ in that draft. He then started getting espn washed. It's been a while. Look at Mayock. Awful. Plus. Louis is a BIG Fields fan who can't read a D. So, Fields would be brought in, and we'd have Zach 2.0. Years more of losing. Fields is not good. Louis thinks he's great.
It's interesting how timing affects perception. We interview Reddick now, it's leaving no stoned unturned, being thorough and a little unorthodox/creative. If we interviewed him after like 4 or 5 interviews with other candidates, it would seem like no one wants the job and they're desperately looking at other options. I feel that some of the interviews - especially this early on - are just as much about gauging interest in the GM job as it is genuine interest in a guy for the position. I'd be shocked if he was the hire.
Riddick would be a really good option..... but would Woody hand over the keys to the Kindom???..... i doubt Riddick would come in if Woody going to interfere.....
Jets need a GM who has a high football IQ, not what we’ve had in recent history. Also, Woody needs to step back and let the professionals do their job. Look at James Dolan with the Knicks. Finally, they’ve got it together. If Dolan can do it, Woody can, too.
I’ve either said this on this channel or Buffalo Jet fans channel, I’d rather Reddick for this job! Let’s get some fresh blood! Tired of all these recycled Gm’s & coaches! Dimitrioff is a SOLID NO!!! The guy from Tennessee FAT NO!!! What have they done with their previous teams???
Riddick might be interesting. That said is he going to be a true gm , one who not only brings in players but runs thing, something jd did not do. That includes making sure we have a coach who makes accountability a key fsctor for the cosches and players so we dont have saleh bowles etc? As an ex player.is he too pro player? One thing w his espn background, he wont hide from the media and fans like douglas qnd macagnan did. Also will he hire the HC? He is a big He Bienemy booster and he would be a disaster, isnt that great an OC and he is way too much like saleh, too enthralled by the players and tol passive, jets need a strong coach.
I am hesitant on first time GMs same goes for HCs the players on this team need strong proven leadership not a friend of the players sorry but i just dont agree with first timers across the board
So, this is going to be an ESPN- run team ? Mike Tannenbaum hired to search for new GM. Mike hires Luis Reddick. And Reddick hires Rex Ryan. They might as well hire Dan Orlovsky as the OC. Then Wayne Gretzky can come along and say The Jets are the new Mickey Mouse organization as Disney owns ESPN.
Louis Reddick has as much chance as a snowball in hell of being considered for Jets GM. The Rooney rule mandates a minority be among those considered for the position so every year teams give an early interview to a minority candidate just to satisfy the requirement. Woody Johnson has no idea what he is doing, one of the worst owners in NFL history. I hate Bill Belechek but he was right when he said Johnson's management style is "Ready, Fire, Aim
Reddick has flexed over the years that he's confident in sitting in the GM chair. He's my personal pick imo.
Reddick has also given so many takes over the years that make zero sense. Never take journalists words for anything.
From what I understand he was bad when he was in the front office.
Get Riddick as GM Curtis Martin as a Advisor/President of Operations bring in Vrabel/ Flores/ Glenn as HC and let’s get back to work
Ian Louis Reddick is a solid Candidate 💯💯💯
That would be a great Hire hopefully we will get it right finally
Riccjick has established great credentials as a scout and in front office skills my personal fav for the GM job! Woody get this done!
I'm here for it. Riddick is no nonsense. He's the man for the job
Louis knows his stuff.
Certainly worth an interview
I’m very intrigued by this
Louis Gossett Jr , solid guy
I like Riddick a lot. I just dont think itll happen. But you never know. I think itd be a good hire and happy hes at least getting an interview.
Reddick talked me off the ledge once on the old twitter and saved me. Solid advice and love him
It would be nice to have the gm in place now with plenty of time to get his scouts in place and scouting players. And for him to evaluate the roster now and see what the best case scenario for the team moving forward, i would be down with just hiring this guy and not look back.
Reddick is the GM that we need to set the standard and hold everyone accountable. We need to sign him up now before it’s too late
Riddick is a very intellectual football guy. Good candidate
Yes!!! I would like this pick if chosen!! Reddick deserves an interview and hope he gets the job or a job as GM elsewhere 💯
RIDDDDDDDIICCCCCCCK!
He's definitely a great football mind honestly I wouldn't mind it because I feel like he would attract a lot of free agents and make the Jets a destination for free agents to come if need so and throughout his connections, but I don't want us to move too fast I want us to at least get some more interviews going around them up to see who's the best one
I like him, he deserves an opportunity
I thought he would’ve got it with I believe the team was the Steelers but I’d definitely give him the job. He’s competent and has the mature personality to deal with this kinda market. Good guy. Lets see...
I love Reddick! Great football mind. Intense.

Isn't it Louis Riddick? He used to play like Steve Atwater, almost Don Harrison, tough safety.
I wouldn't be against it, dude has a million connections. Only thing is he has no college scouting experience. I would not be mad at all. Dude gets it.
This is my pick . He gonna change the way this franchise is viewed put some respect back on our name J-E-TS
Reddick is good 👍
He is my choice. I think he would turn this team around pretty quickly
He's been out of the day to day operations for quite some time. Like the thought of bringing in as many people as possible.
He would actually be a good candidate even with Ambassador Woody still owning the team.
I will have to look him up I just know was a good ESPN analyst.
The Jets could use Reddick.
I wouldn't be opposed, but keep looking.
It's interesting how timing affects perception. We interview Reddick now, it's leaving no stoned unturned, being thorough and a little unorthodox/creative. I know some Titan fans and they are saying don’t bother with Robinson! I like reddick tho
I want Reddick I wrote this in last week in a video
Run the team back with better coaching. Dont get rid of rodgers
Yup carefully pick our next qb ....grab a clip board shut ur mouth watch n learn
Like you said Ian, he isnt just a talking head...His resume speaks for itself. That's All I'm going to say about that.
I like reddick
Riddick would be a really good option..... but would Woody hand over the keys to the Kindom???..... i doubt Riddick would come in if Woody going to interfere.....
HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING DUANE HOSKINS
I wanted him to get the job back in the day before we hired JD
he has been hating on the jets for years but at this point i'm down with him being the gm
should only interview quality not large quantity of people
Jets need a GM who has a high football IQ, not what we’ve had in recent history. Also, Woody needs to step back and let the professionals do their job. Look at James Dolan with the Knicks. Finally, they’ve got it together. If Dolan can do it, Woody can, too.
Are u saying reddick doesn’t have a high football IQ?
Reddick has been a player, scout, and analyst, so he has to have some kind of football IQ right?
Oh god please no
YES YES AND YES GET LOUIS REDDICK IN THE BUILDING AND DONT LET HIM LEAVE
I’ve either said this on this channel or Buffalo Jet fans channel, I’d rather Reddick for this job! Let’s get some fresh blood! Tired of all these recycled Gm’s & coaches! Dimitrioff is a SOLID NO!!! The guy from Tennessee FAT NO!!! What have they done with their previous teams???
Are they actually considering him or is this a Rooney Rule interview? 🤔
I think this is genuine since woody hired the 33rd team to help hire a GM.
I want Dan Lanning. What do you think Ian?
He is a coach not a gm
Also i don’t think he will leave oregon because he has natty aspirations
Riddick might be interesting. That said is he going to be a true gm , one who not only brings in players but runs thing, something jd did not do. Reddick or John Dorsey
I prefer dimitroff
The guy hasn’t been in a front office for 10 years?
no TV people or goofy stuff, go get Dorsey
Interview everyone except the goat belichick 👌🏾 🤦🏾♂️the owner just doesn't get it
I am hesitant on first time GMs same goes for HCs the players on this team need strong proven leadership not a friend of the players sorry but i just dont agree with first timers across the board
like reddick a lot , xlnt football mind , lets interview him now for GM ,

Hand Ozzie Newsome a blank check to come out of retirement.
Hell no I don’t want him he talks nonsense on ESPN
After the Hasan Reddick situation, I'll pass on his brother.
No thanks.
Yea that's what we need a 1st time GM! Woody keeps making the same mistakes over and over again while expecting different results. LOL.
My first choice.
