    Man I love Matt's parents, the way everything comes packaged no leaks whatsoever. Big companies gotta learn how to do it especially when you're buying expensive products. Thanks Matt

    It would be really cool if you were to get a really dirty and scratched up car, and only using the products found in your packages on your store, restore it completely. That way we could have a series of the packages at work, so we would know what to expect.

    I'm unsure if you'll see this, but I just wanted to let you know that over time you won me over as a viewer and subscriber.
    Your content is so phenomenal, and even though I don't always agree with everything you say (and this is a big point some people need to understand: you don't always have to agree, it's okay to have different opinions) I truly value what you do for the community.
    Your series with Jason Kilmer and Andy Ward was some of the best content I've seen to date, from anyone. Your time at OPT training was wonderful to watch. The most recent series with Rupes was also unbelievable.
    I appreciate the objective approach, and the value on supporting a business that innovates and produces high quality items.
    I appreciate the hours of content you put out, for free.
    I appreciate the time you take to put together these packages.
    I'm a humble DIY guy, and while I simply use my PC as a 3" machine, and a MT300, I don't have a real need to upgrade to something like a rupes. If the time ever comes when I do find I need something top of the line, I'll undoubtedly be purchasing it from you.

    I followed all of the Esoteric videos for the paint correction on the GT3 RS and ended up purchasing small amounts of both of the polishes. I can tell you that Jescar Correcting Compound with those microfiber pads is the tits! Now I have 20 bottles of CRAP sitting in a cabinet that I need to pitch. That package you are showing there has enough polish and pads to allow non-stop paint correction. I owe ya Matt!

    Hey Matt, can you do a video explaining the advantages and disadvantages of a polish with “fillers” and what effect it has on the paint short and long term. Do fillers wash out over time? I am confused by the whole subject. Thanks for all the videos.

    • @gufiaito69able
      @gufiaito69able 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Edward Argeroplos fillers is for quick fix, and yes they will wash out showing the defects.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All polishes fill to some extent. That's why we would wipe the panel after compounding to make sure we are removing most of it. What I'm getting at in this video is I think most people are overly concerned with fillers. It is subject we talk about to sound smart. There are a few that are intended to fill like CarPro Essence, but most happen through oil in the polish. I don't think it's something we need to be concerned about.

    • @fasteddie9877
      @fasteddie9877 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My concern was, if we are polishing a car to get defects out. Will a polish/ compound with fillers hide the defect as I am polishing only to be revealed a couple weeks later. In my mind (as small as it is ) I want to get the defects corrected not hidden. Having said that I am not sure if what I am thinking is correct.

    • @gufiaito69able
      @gufiaito69able 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edward Argeroplos that is where eraser comes in. After you make a pass wipe with eraser and it will reveal if you need more correcting or move on.

    Matt the eraser is isopropyl alcohol based correct? Have you ever tried just mixing ISO and water or is eraser that much better? Does it have any other ingredients in it that you know of that makes it stand out over just ISO or Gyeon Prep? I know todd is a big Gyeon fan.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like Eraser more than Prep. I'm not what's in it, but it's better than both IPA and Prep. Gtechniq's Panel Wipe is another good one that's more aggressive than Eraser if that is needed.

    • @semiephemeral9
      @semiephemeral9 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked at the MSDS for both. For Prep its benzyl benozate that added. I don't recall for Eraser. However, they are both very minor amounts of soap.
      For Prep it was like 1 percent.

    Just curious, in some recent videos with Jason Killmer/KXK Dynamics, you had used Sonax and Jescar, and then Meguiars. It seemed you liked Meguiars better on the overall process. But it seems you are staying loyal to the Sonax and Jescar brand. Is there a reason why? .

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are big Meguiar's guys. I still think the diminishing Jescar/Sonax combo looks better and is certainly easier to use. If I have a choice with both on the shelf. I'm picking Jescar bottle up first, no question.

    What are your thoughts on the rupes polishes products?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think they are good for those that are looking for a complete system. Match up the colors, and you'll get a decent result. But, if you've had some time with other dedicate products like Jescar or Sonax, I think most would prefer those over the RUPES polishes.

    Hey Matt - it would be nice to know how long you would envisage this pack would last? It would give the cost a reference point. If you could.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a tough one. It would depend on how many cars you had and how much polish you used. My guess is this would be good for about 25 cars worth of polish. Pads as well is you take care of them. Eraser would probably be about 10 cars or so. Tape would do about 5 or 6.

Thanks so much i really appreciate it and we all do🖤🖤🖤

      CATEGORY 7 If you want to save money you can probably half the pads and you probably don’t have a 3 in polisher so you don’t need the 3 in pads. Do an IPA wipe instead of eraser. Use painters tape. You probably just cut out a large chunk of the package cost. Then in the future you can upgrade it as you progress in polishing.

    • @ObsessedGarage

      You know how I'm always talking about honoring the source? I buy things from companies that provide me value. In absence of that, I'd just go look for a better price. Here is how business works. I buy stuff at a discount from retail. The reason I get that pricing is because I must buy it in bulk. Buying quantities of product carries risk. Then I have to pay to ship it to me. I may not be able to sell it and have money tied up in inventory that may or may not move. Then there is labor, web design, hosting, credit card processing, tax, insurance, facility costs, etc., etc. that must be paid. Customers only care about all the expense because quality customers want the businesses where they have a relationship to be in business tomorrow. If a business is to stay afloat, there must be a profit. Retailers that buy this same stuff that I'm buying do very, very little to provide any value. They simple put a link and the description off the back of the bottle and a few stock photos. Then they play a game of racing to zero just to stay afloat. This months gross revenue pays for next month's inventory. So they get in a game of hiring lots of employees, gaining lots of warehouse space, and hoping to someday sell the business to some larger company dumb enough to pay for a company that makes very little money.
      I'd rather to those that value the effort. They don't complain or return things. The people that are buying from me know they could go get the next 20% off labor day sale, but they would rather support the source for a fair price. I'm not gouging anyone. My simple ask is that you pay the retail price of the product. Giving away pads and polish is the race to zero. Zero means no business. I want to be in business. I like doing this stuff.

      I think so. These types of products like Eraser, Prep from Gyeon, and Panel Wipe from Gtnecniq are better than just IPA. Less grabby, smell great, and work really well.

      They cut and finish very similarly, but Perfect Finish dust less and give a depth that M205 doesn't have. Even after wipe down. It depends on what you prefer. M205 makes the paint look much lighter.

    Even though these products are amazing i wouldn't recommend them to a guy/girl that's on a budget
    Get some griots boss correcting creams line and some microfiber cutting pads and some nice rupes polishing pads.
    Also just get some IPA for wipe-downs or a multi step process just trying to help the people that can't afford this stuff quite yet
    and are working on 'real' nasty bad cars. This is more of a luxury polishing gt3's all day.
    Lot of detail products can be way to pricey and will do the same stuff with out breaking the bank.
