Wow, this video is an absolute gem for anyone diving into the world of Warhammer 40k painting! As someone who's currently building their own Cadian army, I can't express enough how invaluable the tips and techniques shared here have been in elevating my painting game. From mastering the intricate details of each miniature to achieving that perfect blend of colors, every step of the process feels like a guided journey towards creating stunningly realistic models. Massive kudos to the creator for their clear instructions and insightful guidance - my army has never looked better! Can't wait to see more content like this in the future. Keep up the amazing work!
Ive been wanting to get into warhammer for a while now, after playing space marine 2 i found a deep respect for the cadians who literally are keeping the planet from falling apart
@TableTopReadyTH-cam I just painted my 1st one at my local warhammer store it looks great in my opinion very trench warfare inspired very worn and muddy
Yeah the krieg models are nice. I’m sure you’ve seen my tutorial for them already 😋 I’m hoping they expand the plastic range with some weapon teams and tank crew
Hey, dont know if youll see this but i started getting into 40k with your beginners guide and i love it. Its already been around a year and i still watch your Videos, because they are by far the best. Hyped for the Leviathan Box and your tutorial for it ( if its planned). Wish you all the best man.😊
Glad you’ve been enjoying my content 😃 of course I’m gonna be doing stuff with the new edition. I’m excited, I just hope I’m able to get hold of a box 🤔 thanks for the comment 🙏🏻
Thanks so much, Michael! Yours are among the best tutorial videos there are regarding the hobby. Between you, BrushStrokes, and The Painting Coach, we're covered! Thanks for helping me make this Kasrkin Kill Team look so good.
I’ve been away for a little while! Real life getting in the way, but as usual…. You’ve smashed these videos out of the park dude! Always look forward to your videos coming out!
Amazing job, i dont play table games but i collect figures and build models, love their size and details, i might get into this starting with this faction to build, paint and collect them
Wow. I hope you do find your way into the hobby 😁 Just know these Astra millitarum miniatures May not be the most beginner friendly miniatures. They are very small with a lot of detail. Don’t start by buying tons of stuff. If you can you want to go to your nearest warhammer store and ask to try out painting a miniature. After that maybe get a box of shocktroops and start with that. Get the paints and tools set and the base colours. Don’t worry about washes or highlights to start. Get use to painting. Focus on applying paint to your miniatures and being neat. That will honestly give you the best start. The. You can slowly add shades and highlights to them 😃
Hey man love your videos! They're always so concise and interesting! My favorite's are definitely your Orks and Space Marines! I'd love to see you paint some successor chapters such as the blood ravens! Keep up the great work!
Wow for me one of the best how to paint Cadian Infantry guide. Painting a Rogal Dorn with your painting style would be nice or the new Tyraniden models with the Behemoth painting scheme.
I do want to do a dorn tank, whenever they’re available again ha and I recon I’ll play around with Tyranid colour schemes with the new edition miniatures 😃
Love this tutorial. I've found it to be VERY helpful :) Made notes all the way through. No-nonsense, very clear explanation with paints and brush's used etc, just how like it lol Thank you very much for createing this. Now onto the Sentinels and Wepaon Ordnance tutorial :D
Great video Michael, im watching all of your videos hoping i can retain some of your skill and technique for myself, slowly buying all the pots of paint you list in your how to paint dark angels video
Oooo thank you. I’m glad your enjoying the content. As long as you work on the techniques and skills I always talk about in each tutorial you’ll be well in your way to golden demon. After that it’s just the case of choosing what colours to use. Paint and Highlight lots of Space marines. Also make sure to try out painting a new detail with every project. Perhaps it’s robes or you want have a go at glazing. We can easily get over whelmed if you try and make everything perfect straight away. Focus on making a certain thing as good as you can and then move on after you have practiced enough
Hi, really interesting and inspiring video, thank you. I like (and appreciate) how you take things right back to basics, keeping it really simple. This great for beginners (and old uns returning to the hobby😕). The triple screen previews are a new feature to me and are very good. Really good flag painting and basing too. Cheers!
Glad you you enjoy my content. I always like to approach tutorials as if no one knows how to do anything. I can’t assume people have watched my other videos either and I think this is a good approach. Considering I try to do more advanced tutorials they really seem to appeal to new painters.
3 things, do you think if im trying to go for a war torn is it best to avoid highlights?,also I use the citidel glue and i am so bad when the guns blocking the torso during painting can i paint disassembled? my 3rd thing is you should totally make a video of how you keep your painting space, oh I forgot CADIA STANDS
I would reccomend always doing highlights, even if its just some egde highlights or a quick drybrush. You can use sub assemblies, I chose to fully build mine because there were so many and a painting space is very personal and something you kind of figure out as you go along :P
Any plans on doing a video on the leman russ or the valkarie? This video was a godsend to me but I definitely would like a video on those two before i finish my 1k astrum militarum army
This video convinced me on finally painting my cadian army! Already ordered the paints but I’m having issues finding the citadel brushes where I’m at… anyone have any recommendations and how to translate the citadel measures to other brands? :( Some are 1’s and 2’s, others 0 or 00 and it’s kinda confusing me lol
Hi! I like to watch your tutorials, because these are huge help for me. I would like to build an astra militarum army, starting with the combat patrol. But I have some question. Is it problem if I not glue the miniature to the base before painting? May I paint some parts separetly from the body in this kit or I can build them?
If you find it easir to keep your miniatures off the base and sub asseblies then absolutley do that. I fully built these because there are so many of them and it can get really over whelming having so many sub assemblies
Hi, in the shot that starts around 1.07 are you using some kind of curved slider? Or is it clever editing? or both? Nice job either way ;) Its given me some ideas! Mike
🤔 I think I used zandri dust, nockturne green and mchanicus standard for variety. You can really paint them what ever you think would look good though 🤷🏼♂️
Here`S my thoughts, if you need to see a well presented easy to follow guide on painting the Guard. This is it! Thanks so much 😊. Oh and most importantly CADIA STANDS!!!

cadians never fall or give up. they are a agreat army to get stuck into and the miniatures are amazing
And they do that without 2 harts, livers, artificial muscles and hand-held rocket launchers 🤣
@TableTopReadyTH-cam I just painted my 1st one at my local warhammer store it looks great in my opinion very trench warfare inspired very worn and muddy
Just started my Imperial guard army, and the combat patrol is my first lot if models, so this tutorial is much appreciated thankyou!

you don't have to go crazy on brushes, just get some you can afford to start with. 1 is Medium and 0 is small for the brush sizes
