Thank you Jamie for sharing your skills , techniques and knowledge in this inspirational lesson . You are the Grand Master and may the force be with you .
Thank you so much Jamie for sharing with us all the effort you put in this transcription. And all the nice details on the video (phrase by phrase, alto and tenor, fingerings, etc). Not to mention your skills and feeling while playing. 🙏🙏👏👏🍀🍀
wowsers, I don't think i'll ever be able to play this, but I love the enthusiasm you bring that inspires me to want to try...........as said below, can't believe there are only 13000 subscribers, definitely the best channel i've come across
Yes, too much for me I'm afraid, but you are right about seeing and hearing top level playing, even if it's beyond your capabilities. Something to aim for and aspire to. Once again thank you for keeping us same in the present climate..
I liked this video two minutes in. I was just thinking to do a brecker transcription but didn’t know what to choose. You’re reading my mind! So many of the videos I’ve seen on your channel are spot on for what I need to work on. So many thanks Jamie! I can’t do altissimo but I so agree with you that it’s worth trying to play above my level and learning what I can. Well, I guess I need to pick another brecker solo ;). I could manage an F# which is a step for me. I’ll file this one away for future work. That top note of the first rise is just money!
@@GetYourSaxTogether I will check that out and report back. I do overtones and I just started with mouthpiece exercises so it will come as my skill develops. Unrelated-I found the answer to whether RH drive or LH drive is better: For guitar driver on the right is better since you don’t have to stick the neck out the window. For flute left hand since there is room for the flute. 😂 Things to do while waiting for the wife from the shops.
Wow! Great job Jamie...that's a tough one! But great to see the analysis and hear the playing, even if I'll struggle to get my chops round that!! Many thanks
Awesome lesson this week Jamie! Thank you! Brecker is by far a Sax superhero! I listened this week a live concert recorded in Florida playing with Jaco Pastorius... OMG.... mind blowing.... Talking about insane technique and ridiculous solos, maybe you can illuminate us with some Chris Potter magic... looking forward this month’s live!
That’s a good idea Eduardo I love Chris Potter. It’s just a bit of a challenge finding a format on TH-cam that will accommodate solos with loads and loads of notes like in jazz solos.
Yeah that’s a fantastic call. It’s definitely on my list but there’s a lot of notes so I’ll have to think about what format I do it in. Thanks for watching!
Gonna try this solo when people are awake around me lol. You should do something covering Moon Hooch for the next video. Those guys are insanely good--and Mike the tenor player literally uses Sonny Stitt's Conn 10M for all their shows (it was gifted to him).
@GetYourSaxTogether you have alto on top and tenor on the bottom. Would one play just the notes for the type of sax that they use? The question may be ignorant but thx for replying tho.
@@ummmummm563 yeah that’s right. If you play alto, play the alto part. If you play tenor, play the tenor part. Maybe google saxophone transpositions to understand it a bit better. The fingering for a G is the same on every sax but the nite that produces on the piano will be different. Kinda wild.
@@GetYourSaxTogether thank you very much. Why would one play a different sax other than the Becker is playing if one wanted to play the recorded version from 1977?
...worked some of them out, hinted at this, borrowed from that, OR it just sounded good when he heard it...so he played it. Breaker... THE BADDEST CAT IN TOWN...... Full stop
What’s that? A FREE one hour Masterclass? That’s right! www.getyoursaxtogether.com/masterclass

Aw, thanks Mel! I’ll get there. Spread the word! 😎
Hi Any chance of Wilton Felders sax solo on "Streetlife" for both tenor and Alto Ps I play Alto
