I've heard you mention having a dresser near the front door and having your sims change there clothes for realism. I tried it and I like it. Plus a dresser can double as an entryway side table.😉
I love this home. You could've added more bedrooms in a basement. I would absolutely love to see more homes with basements! The way I build, I try to make neighborhoods similar, as if they were built at the same time. Therefore, certain homes of mine each have a trait, like furnished basements, in common.
I like doing this too. If my sim goes for a run or walks the dog, I would want it to be cohesive enough to feel like a real-life neighborhood. I switch out the colors, doors, and landscaping, but I try to keep it in the same style whether it's a more dutch colonial neighborhood or a craftsman house style, or modern, I try and match homes because it makes it feel like a town and not random homes.
I try to build my houses with gameplay in mind too. I always think, what activities could I include that would make gameplay just a bit more engaging and fun? I also make sure to include as many bathrooms as I can because mornings can be stressful in large families when everyone has to shower. I also think realistically and strive to place bathrooms near clusters of bathrooms, because realistically that's what many floorplans in real life do.
I think Blue and Orange are complementary colors alone with Purple and Yello and Red and Green. The rule of thumb is that one is a primary color and the other one is a mixture of the two other primary colors. At least that's how they taught it in art class.
Love this house 😍 will definitely be downloading it for my current household. Isn't the bathroom upstairs the same size as the toddler room ? I might switch those around so that the bedroom has a window. I usually don't care whether the bathroom has one or not
Honestly, the archeology skill, especially when you get to level 8 or 9 comes in clutch for funds. At that point, the museums send you artifacts and if you mail them back, you get thousands of simoleons. I've honestly gotten rich off of that skill. The most I ever got for a single artifact was about 5k but with one or two of those a week, your Sim could retire.
