I owned a small diner. The favorites were our homemade biscuits and gravy, our French Toast was Texas Toast dipped in whipped eggs and a touch of heavy cream. It was served with a small bowl of powdered sugar and warm syrup or by choice, a bowl of fresh strawberries. The biggest seller was our old fashioned Steam Burgers. We sold them by the bag or singles. That sandwich looked like it would hit the spot!
I LOVE biscuits and gravy. So hard to find in my area.
I've always made my Scrambled Eggs and French Toast with milk. Never considered using cream. I ❤️❤️❤️ the idea of using cream for these dishes.

After watching the video. I think this place deserves 4 Stars because I liked the Mom & Pop vibes ( something different than Denny's or IHOP) and the food looked Amazing. Especially, the scrambled eggs with cheese ( I like my scrambled eggs with cheese slices ), and the fact that they added white instead of yellow is a plus. The only thing lacking was the French toast ( but no one is perfect ). If I lived in Connecticut I would have breakfast there.

My Two Cents:
I think the breakfast looked good.
I also think they should offer french toast with the following bread options:
Regular white (probably a few days old for firmness), Brioche, French baguette
and Ciabatta. When bread is firmer, it holds ingredients and flavor better and doesn't make for a soggy, wet, or mushy outcome, not that yours was.
They may also want to consider additional syrup flavor options, including a sugar-free option.
And for those who love their bacon very crispy (me), they should probably fry it a little longer, or offer thick pieces of bacon that can be fried very hard, to the point of semi- burned, and still have great flavor. 🤤😋

I am a little confused Daym. That French toast totally looked like it was made with Texas toast slices. I know Texas Toast slices. I use them to make my oh so delicious French Toast!😉😄

That breakfast sandwich looked very good. What’s wild about the waffle house is that while they scramble their cheese into their eggs, they put the dreaded cheese slices on top of their hashbrowns 🤷🏽♀️🧐🤔

Daym, Pro Foodie tip. Next time try asking for Cheddar Cheese Scrambled Eggs, which means incorporating the cheese inside the eggs, vs with, which means a partnership rather than mixing them. Just saying....

The pancake shop in Memphis tn for sure has the best breakfast, best scrambled eggs with cheese, biscuits and gravy, everything.
I love your stuff, BUT you should have tried the homefries!!! I personally judge a breakfast place on its homefries. Bacon 2nd and eggs last. Bummer...go back and get some homefries and do a short on them and let us know if they are any good...please.
If you want crispy bacon, cover the bacon with flour. Put it in a 375 degree oven. After 10 mins. take the bacon out and put it in for another 10 mins. Take it out and enjoy. I tried it and it was the crispiest bacon I ever put in my mouth.
Biscuits and gravy and chicken fried steak is the real test for a breakfast spot!
i ordered a colorado omelette from ihop recently and it was really quite good
made me think of the scrambled eggs and cheese, an omelette usually always has it cooked into the eggs somewhat rather than slices

For me personally I would want to try biscuits and gravy in a breakfast review. So many places get it wrong.
You want people whipping it up and bring out hot food along with great service and cleanliness. Those are the key things I look for in a restaurant and of course the ambiance as well.

I agree EVERY TIME I ask for extra crispy almost burnt bacon it comes out not crispy! I wish their French toast was crispier. Overall, it’s okay to meet friends and have a quick meal.

Dag, Daym, got busted again either not ready or not knowing how to food order. A bacon egg and cheese sandwich is the same as your scrambled egg with cheese and bacon platter, minus the bread. If you want cheese done right with your eggs then just order a cheese omelette and pay the extra. You mentioned a rounded breakfast order, then left out premium pork links, scrapple, ham and pork roll with crispy hash browns! In short, you have shorted this breakfast establishment with a giving thorough and honest review..I’m sorry to say.😂

I drive past there every day on the way to work, keep thinking I need to stop in some time.
I'm like you and want my bacon nice and crispy. I've noticed cooks will almost never do it for you and you have to send it back and they cook it some more. I'm sure this is for food loss prevention because you know somebody will say, "I said crispy not burnt!" And then they have to do it again and write that order of bacon off as a loss.
