A few years ago I snapped my chassis on the drive to Poepple Corner, managed to limp to Innamincka, and then had to get the car transported back to Melbourne. I feel for the people you met with the same issue.
WOW! this was a epic watch, really loved the way you made this. Truly top notch. The bush fixes, the scenery and the images were fantastic. Thanks Matt and Holly.
Great Video Matt and Holly. 2 hours was just the right length for the Movie. Watched it last night, missed seeing the Daly Dunce award. How good was it, having such wonderful friends to travel with. The scenery and photography was amazing. Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year.
Superb footage & reminiscing of being part of our 22 day expeditions for Global Gypsies June & July 2023.Thank you ,looking forward to more of your trips.
Absolutely love this magnificent movie-length scenery extravaganza on the Canning! Brings a massive smile to my & 5mo son’s faces as we are flattened with Covid (& therefore missing the bub’s first family Xmas). Thankyou guys so much for all the work you do to create these beautiful adventure gifts for all our eyes to enjoy! Merry Xmas
Had a Brown Davis tank crack the welds and spray diesel all over my camper trailer on the Gibb. Had it partially welded but couldn't fill the tank to full. Even more scrapes, leaks and plenty of soap. I now carry the metal epoxy putty. BD replaced the tank, but I had to pay for the freight to Darwin. The new one had reinforced corners.
Wiluna just south of halls creak 😂😂😂 It's like a 21hr trip going the inland way, 27hrs going along the coast and 10 days at best up the canning stock route 😂😂😂
Fantastic vid guys bloody marvellous its definitely Toyota country out there looks like some after market brands need to lift their game tho , merry Christmas and a happy safe new year 👍👍🍻
I loved watching this expedition. The cinematography and editing was superb. I’ve subscribed to your channel and will be viewing your previous adventures. Thanks for sharing these adventures, I will never get to do them myself, but at least I can enjoy them through your eyes.
Great doco guys. It must have taken immense effort putting this well put together doco involving probably many hours of footage and editing . The trip itself was shown in its full glory together with all the obstacles the vehicles overcame to venture forward and the immense rewards gained with the memories of the beauty of the landscape and the many challenges needed to carry on. The drone footage was also well done. What drones were you using? To do this trip as you have done must have taken a lot of planning and your effort must be admired.❤
Just found your channel... what an excellent quality video to watch. I've wanted to do the canning for a long time... great insight into what it's like. I can't but think that truck should have been crawling over those sand dunes easily... his tyres were still up way to high there. Looking forward to checking some of your other videos out. Just subscribed too...👍 Cheers
This is the first video of your channel I have watched and wow what a beauty! As a 4wdriver of over 30 years, an ex pro photographer and full time online marketer I have seen thousands of hours of videos and trips and this was really well done and edited. I felt like I was on the trip. No ego's just normal guy and girl Aussies exploring our great country and it was good to show no matter how well prepared you are shit can go wrong. Curious as I only saw a few Jerrys and some cars had only one spare did you "share" spares in case you got two flats and what fuel usage did you use for this trip (Not counting the leakage). :)
That was brillaint. The CSR will have to wait another few years for me to tick it off the list. What was the end result of the long range tank? Also, the squeaks from the leaf pack was funny as.
It went really well, there is a section of the rooftop conversion thats hasn't been done and you can really see the difference. Well worth it on such an overgrown track.
Ta, We tried the Madigan in June but had to change the trip. Trying another convoy next June to have another go. Not looking good with all this rain. Maybe the Canning,,, Love your shows @@OverlandTravellers
Acknowledging the aborigines who showed the early explorers where water was. It is a sad story, but today it is acknowledged. The story is described here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canning_Stock_Route
th-cam.com/video/7UR6agkRbT4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dW0sePwgsx9wHzAw If you look at this video, the author mentions (and you can see) his car goes up and over every dune at just about crawl speed with no high speed run up needed. His jeep has no issues making it, and the slower speed must be so much kinder to the gear. I’m guessing his setup is very light and he might be airing down more. I also wonder if the time of year has something to do with just how soft the sand gets. Congrats on a great video!
Yes I have seen that video. His setup is certainly lighter. But the main thing is he is going South to North, we were going the opposite. The dunes are all steeper going North to South, so he had an easier approach. Also keep in mind there are roughly 1500 dunes and we got caught up on 4-5 dunes.

Wow, that sinking moon video at 44 minutes was truly spectacular.
As was the rest of the story.

That is a epic trip… awesome guys.
Great expansion on the shorter episode, enjoyed the extra detail and footage. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
At over 2 hours long it's a long video for TH-cam but you left me hanging for more, well done Holly and Matt.

Video playlist of all the great Adrian bush fixes. Great videos…. slowly getting through the catalog 😊
Absolutely magnificent Matt and Holly. A great watch.
The track was much more overgrown to what I was expecting. Lucky you had yours wrapped!
Yeah the video still doesn’t really show how bad it is. Very happy to have the wrap :)
Great video, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope all went well with the BD tank. Some fantastic bush mechanic tips to remember. Thanks
Best wishes for Christmas. I'm looking forward to seeing where you get to in 2024. Safe travels.

The CSR is definitely on the bucket list but we're lacking time and an Adrian atm.
Great video, keep up the great work.
I don't know whats harder, finding the time or finding an Adrian.
Well done, love the extended format. Keep up the awesome travelling

That was a great viseo. I hope you can show more trips if you do them later
There will be more!
I had a Brown and Davis tank split on me doing the Simpson desert about 7 years ago. Not enough internal bracing !
Tomorrow video . Merry Christmas guys have a happy and safe one .
Found your channel because of Ronny Dahl… Sub 👍 keep up the good work

Also, the squeaks from the leaf pack was funny as.
Nice stuff
Did turning the snorkel around reduce the dust getting in?
Great vid and an honest portrayal of how tough the track can be on the cars.
@@colsadventures it wasn’t really for the dust more all the leaves and pollen being sucked in because it was so overgrown
Awesome
I want to have a vehicle and an offroad camper van or caravan. Is it possible to do the Canning with a camper van or offroad caravan?
Great vid. how did the bush wrapz go?
It went really well, there is a section of the rooftop conversion thats hasn't been done and you can really see the difference. Well worth it on such an overgrown track.
What is the purpose of the wire running from your bullbar up to the roof? I noticed all the vehicles have it.
To protect the a pillars on the cars from trees
Gee… why would you buy a brown davis fuel tank after seeing those cracks and leaks
That's why I have a Polymer LR Fuel Tank
Time to get a jiggle siphon. I probably would have sacrificed the 12 volt water pump for diesel use.

Yep it got repaired and did the rest solo
