They were mind blowing ! They actually came out and played three songs in a row on this tour. First Rock and Roll, then Celebration Day and then Black Dog. They literally didn't stop - they'd come out and blow the audiences skull caps off with three non-stop rockers - all musically linked together. High energy and in your face

sorry man, saw them twice in the uk, in 73 in a small provincial theatre that sat 2100, queued 27 hours for tickets, the whole 40+ date tour sold out in 40 minutes... and again in 75, the last night of their 5 night residency at Earls Court.. magic nights, simply the best band, 4 master musicians doing their thing, we'll never see their like again, i was blessed to grow up in the late 60's and early 70's, loving the reactions, cheers Tim, Gloucester, UK peace...

You’re right! They weren’t your normal, regular rock band. This was the best band at the best possible time. A lineup of technically-adept musical assassins, the ultimate unit. The band to end all bands.

How can four guys illicit so many emotions from a person? Damn, they are the best. I’m like you, I wish I could have been at one of their concerts, especially the one at the Madison Square Garden. Thanks for showcasing this.

They used to play these 2 songs back-to-back on the radio. I’m 60 and there’s nothing and will never be anything like Led Zepplin. My teenage years in the 70’s. Yes, the music was that good. I love that you like and appreciate this band. Thanks for posting. I enjoy your channel!

Hey JoAnn, I too was a teenager in the 70s! I'm 61 now and I had TSRTS and Physical Graffiti. I borrowed I,II and Presence while in high school. Incidentally, on Don Kershner's Rock Concert they featured these two songs. Which, of course from TSRTS. That unfortunately was the only time I saw them live. But the music was really great by in da day. Grand Funk Railroad, BTO, ELO, KISS, Elton. 15 in '75. What a time.

Excellent and appropriate energy reaction for such greatness - two things I suggest. (1) go watch the short clip from "it might get loud" when Jimmy explains the drum set-up for "when the levee breaks" and how it changed rock drummers setting up forever forward - then go react to When the levee breaks = the drum intro is the best ever and Robert blows a mean harmonica. It's based on a true flood story in mississippi

John Henry Bonham ( the late ) one of the best, hardest hitting drummers ever. As well as Bill Ward of Black Sabbath. Bonham shines on When The Levee Breaks. Perfect rhythm.

When Led Zep emerged in 68 no one had seen anything like it! Their audience went off and invented “heavy metal” - completely missing the point! This is about more than loudness and head banging! You just been to church brother!

Then you naturally jump to Alex in Jimmy's outfit.... 😏 It can't just be me... 🐰

These tracks are in the reverse order on the album they come from, Led Zeppelin IV. If that's its title. Tired of justifying himself, guitarist Jimmy Page insisted that neither the band's name, nor a title, nor any information about them be printed on the LP cover. Instead, each group member was represented by a mysterious symbol on the inner sleeve - leading some to name it 'Four Symbols'. It absolutely didn't effect the sales, which continued to be phenomenal.
