From the videos I've watched when its a clean cut of your line its a spider crab causing the damage. So floater beads help, by keeping your bait off the bottom. Great video to watch the sunrise and an honest video, nobody likes blanking, but you telling it like it is refreshing.
David B. Thanks for your comment :) I’m deffo going to try some pop ups on next session in the day :) I have been using the journal it’s fab :) sunrise is ace when fishing love fishing night into day its amazing
I want feedback on the journal especially anything that you think needs more space or is irrelevant. I hope by the end of this year to be bringing out an improved 2nd edition of which I will of course give you a copy and an additional one as a prize for one of your draws. Jason had a day like you had, I think the fish are doing that social distancing thing Ha Ha. With a day like that I put the bells on the rods and get the binoculars out and soak up the rays that's sun rays.
Tough session that mate. Spider crabs are plaguing the beaches down here. I've delayed going out to the beach because of it. Hitting the Piers down this way for a the next week.
Stuart Lawley thanks for watching mate they snipped off about 6 of my rigs in total I didn’t film them all !!!! I think I will experiment with pop up rigs / beads in the day you don’t seem to get it at night they seem to be a little more dormant !
Enjoyed the way you setup your baits 🙂 There are days without fish, but that's the reason we are going to fishing and not buying 🎣 Just to be near the water
Great video. I went yesterday morning. Sadly same result. A cormorant popped up with a flat fish as I was tackling up. He was probably telling me "should have been here earlier". Hayho at least we have got out and wet a line. It can only get better. Stay safe.

Hi Eastbourne Fisherman, you caught a female spider crab which should always be returned to keep breeding. With all crabs, a big lad like you saw is female and a small V shape at the back is male. Spider crabs are probably the sweetest crab you can eat, there beautiful. Next time you catch a male whopper keep it alive, take it home and either look at Smash Fishing, Fish Locker or From a Fishing video on catch and cook and prepare your crab properly. Under cook it, it's naff, over cook it it's tough. Get a chance again try again, if you cook again properly think you may change your mind. Btw cook it with garlic paste, wonderful. Keep the videos coming, cheers.

Great session Jason, can't wait to go out myself when Sturgeon let's us...lol, by the way, that spider crab (these cut off lines) is a female, smaller claws and big apron, males have bigger claws and a smaller v shape apron. All the best and tight lines.
The one thing I would say to either remove legs or strap them up as by leaving the legs on the crab they can move around and find cover .as a 🦀 instinct is to find Cover when feeling threatend . And that's a female spider crab the male crab has a smaller v apron on it female is more oval

Love the crab set up, will def be trying that, are they hardbacks your using, I thought they will only take peelers.
I had a mix of hard and soft backs
Peeler is a preferred bait but they will take
Hardbacks, softbacks, hermits and even squid
