  • Hey, this is Table 53 and this is my Bonfire Peaks review. Bonfire Peaks (PS4, Steam, Windows, Linux, macOS, Nintendo Switch, Macintosh operating systems, PS5) is a sokoban style puzzle game designed by Corey Martin and published by Draknek. Hopefully this video will answer the question "Should I buy Bonfire Peaks?" (Yes.)

This game looks fun! I feel like I say that when i see almost any puzzle game but I never get around to them. A channel goal must be to review every sokkoban puzzler that releases right? Haha
One thing, and this may just be me, but the background sound was a bit loud and sometimes made it hard to hear what you were saying.
    Thanks for the video sir!

Haha, I'm the exact opposite, I think that and then inevitably end up playing them! If only I had the time to play them all
That could be the case, I thought it sounded okay but I didn't get into it too much because rerendering everything takes a lifetime at the moment haha

    - has bonfire in the title
    - not a soulslike
    I've been bamboozled.

Haha, I've clearly not played enough Dark Souls because the bonfires = Soulslike thing never even crossed my mind

@@Table53 well in my opinion Pipe Push Paradise is a better game then Bonfire Peaks and Corey Martin just keeps prooving he is a genious when it comes to puzzle design and soundtracks

Maybe I should reinstall Pipe Push Paradise, it didn't fully click with me the first time but maybe on a second attempt I'll enjoy it more!

@@Table53 If I remember correctly, the game starts to get hard around level 50 but you can beat those levels in 8 hrs. Just my opinion but I think it is one of the best puzzlers in recent years. The biggest challenge in that game for me was that you have to think in 3D while playing in 2D .

@@RejectAllCookies13 haha, for me it felt difficult way earlier than that. Something about the puzzle design just did not work with my brain at all and it took a lifeage to get anywhere with it! But I do own the game on Itch so after Bonfire Peaks I am more tempted to try again

Which are the best puzzle games in your opinion aside from SSR?

A Good Snowman is Hard to Build is one of my favourites, another Draknek sokoban game that's shorter and a bit easier than this but the puzzle idea is so neat. Baba is You is a work of genius. Portal's atmosphere and design is outstanding. Does SpaceChem count as a puzzle game? I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of others, but that's definitely a few games that would be in my top 10!
