I have changed to almost all of the telecom companies using MNP & have found out that even in India Vodafone is the best overall network in terms of speed & reliability. Right now I'm using Jio & airtel. Both are slow at my location & where i travel frequently. I'm going back to Vodafone & never changing. Only Vodafone & Idea has been reliable networks for me. Idea for international roaming is not good as I've heard from my friends & relatives.
Also i really like these kinds of videos from you. It really helps to see real experience & makes other's life kinda easy. Hope to see more of this kind of content.
Thanks for sharing your feedback about international usage but problem in India is that no one provide is good in any city, I would have migrated to vodafone but in hyderabad in India their service is not that good here Airtel and Jio work much better.
Vodafone sucks... and the fact is it charges useless to customers.. just dnt advt a british comp which sucks everytime.. i roam around india.. and Jio is best and airtel is second..
Shubham Parekh yes exactly, like I travelled to Maharashtra and I use an Airtel SIM, and trust me, it was an absolute nightmare, in Goa, in some places there was 4G but in most places I got 3G only, then later, when I moved on to Maharashtra, it got even worse, there was absolutely no range, I was struggling, one of our guides had Jio and his network was working great apparently but I live in Bangalore so Airtel is awesome here, I've heard from people that if there is a lack of range on your Jio SIM, you can call customer care and they take care of it.
My friend, country to country rates vary for international roaming. Vodafone is expensive for Australia but Airtel is cheaper. Thanks for bringing this video. Actually nobody has made such a comparative study. Kudos to you guys. Thanks.
I agree guys. Vodafone indeed is the best for international roaming. I use all 3 networks strategically for best service. Jio for data in India and airtel/Vodafone for calls. Cheers!
I 100% agree with what you guys stated,3 days back I landed here in Jakarta Indonesia with Jio & Vi SIMs there is no signal in Jio till the time where another hand Vi is doing a fabulous job.
Hirok Singha Thanks brother and I am also a bsnl user. I an using ₹429 plan and same speed I am getting with unlimited call, 1gb data per day for 90 days
Used jio prepaid in united states and UK and worked seamlessly with ATT in US and 3 in UK. With Rs. 2/min outgoing and incoming, that is way cheaper. Just need to activate one day pack and after 1 day you can topup with any amount and continue using
Yes, you are correct. Vodafone is very good and VFM for international roaming. One has to take care to select the vodafone nominated service provider in foreign countries to avail of the roaming package rates otherwise charges are extremely high.
I was using a Airtel postpaid connection for around 10 years. Went to Dubai after activating International roaming and got a bill of 6000/- for using 7 MB of data (forgot to swith off data actually). Airtel is super expensive on postpaid. Never use it on International ROAMING. Disconnected and ported to BSNL the next month.
Ive had a good experience with IR from Jio while in the UK. Worked well from day 1 and no issues with their charges. Occasionally had a bad network, but I guess that's expected with any carrier.
I always use Vodafone as my primary and Airtel as my secondary contact no. Both provide decent service and their offers are also competitive to that of Jio nowdays.....
Good review, such reviews are always fruitful when travel overseas as most of the carrier often lure us with cheap roaming plans, it only comes to use if it works at all in realistic situation. Keep up the good work!
Hi Ranjit. I find many of your videos very helpful. I would be glad if you could do a video on the international roaming plans of Jio, Vodafone, Airtel which just allow incoming SMS like OTP required for many applications and Bank related issues. This will be very useful to many students who go to US for studies but want to continue their India number and also receive OTPs. If I am correct Vodafone offers such a plan at 150 per month. COuld you please provide me more info on this.
3rd time now I paid Vodafone the Rs. 150 tariff for incoming SMS purely for bank OTP and lo and behold, absolutely no network abroad, changed settings, tried everything. Vodafone hasn't worked for me in UK, Switzerland and Thailand. Thankfully I had an extra matrix but it was a nightmare to get train tickets as no OTP was getting delivered.
Vi provide ₹295 for 28 days, ₹10/call after 40mins free outgoing/incoming. ₹15/outgoing SMS, ₹10/MB. Vi seema cheapest to maintain phone line overseas.
My Experience is real Bad. I always take the combo pack for number of days I am travelling 7/10/30. VODAFONE POSTPAID- PATHETIC. Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabhi, Germany, France. Couldn't latch. In USA it latches to T-mobile network which is a joke. Also people who were calling me got the message " This number does not exist" AIRTEL PREPAID- Thailand, Malaysia - Could latch but only got calls. No Data. What's surprising is none of them have a dedicated Customer care number for International Roaming Clients. No matter how much u complain or tweet nothing happens. Some ignorant customer care exec who is of no use tells u it will be sorted What I do now is, as soon as I land I buy a local Sim. Also Carry an Airtel and Vodafone prepaid Sim. International roaming is activated by default in all of them. They charge like 99/month if u use. Put it in a dumb phone. No Data . Only incoming calls. when I get a call. I disconnect and call back. Works cheaper. using Google Voice ( Doesnt work in UAE) which i activated in USA( It cannot be activated while in INDIA) and it turned out to be very cheap for worldwide calling from anywhere. Ranjit - You have an amazing channel. I hope you address this issue via it more and collect more input from your followers.
Which network were you connected to? These packs are not for all tied up networks. If you're on a network which is not tied up then you'll be charged. You have to manually connect to that network.
I've been using JIO sim with international roaming enabled in Canada ottawa. It's using Bell network here. Pretty good on my poco f1. Getting H and H+ signal with good speed. Jio rs1100 package is awesome pay as you go plan. Now Indians need not bother about buying other international Sims for higher prices. Don't consider this age-old review by Ranjit
Edit: i figured after googling how to get jio sim working after a remote recharge (when I'm not on jio network as the jio customer service says you need to be for minimum 2 hours while you get the international recharge done) I followed the steps to latch on to AT&T network. And voila! It was better than my American lyca network lol. I had my internet working, calls getting through and the speed was amazing! I was so pleasantly surprised by jio and disclaimer since i could get my OTPs it did result in a substantial expenditure from the repeated neft transfers i could do to my forex card. Haha!
@@namratamohan07 so is your Jio still helping you in making your expenses huge? haha btw is it still working fine? cz I'm traveling to Europe next week and need to activate the IR pack.

Hrithwik Bharadwaj you can take Vodafone to Europe.. Coz Vodafone is big company it operates in Europe UK and many other parts of the world.. So in roaming international its not problem coz Vodafone is available in around the world
I occasionally travel to the middle East and yes idea international works great call rates are crazy high tho... 80 rupees per minute and around 50 for SMS. Haven't selected a pack yet might check next time
Guys, thank you for your videos. You are not sitting somewhere and making fake videos. You are sharing your experience. You are 100% correct - Jio donot work.
Ranjit sir can you do a video of gaming PC configuration at a budget of 50,000.I will look forward to it,as earlier you were doing this kind of stuff.👍
A video worth watching, as I am a International Traveller . I definitely needed a review on international roaming,, and Ranjeet sir Jio sucks in Mumbai.. so there is no question of investing my Money on them anyways thanks for coming out with such a wonderful video.
Thanks for the information. An off topic question. Is that the LG V20 that you were showing in the video in which you had put the airtel sim. I would like to how's the phone?
I have been conducting polls across social media to just have some clarity about network coverage but its unfortunate that each Circle (state) has a different opinion. Now, I would completely blame TRAI and DoT for this as they have sold different network spectrums to each operator. So for example, Airtel runs on a stronger spectrum (900) in Karnataka while in Maharastra it runs on a lower spectrum (1800). We might think 1800 is stronger than 900 but in radio waves or telecom terms, its the opposite. An operator with 900 needs 1 tower to cover an area while an operator with 1800 will need 2 towers to cover that area. This is why we have different experiences with each telecom operator in different states. The only solution would be for TRAI or DoT to actually streamline this by assigning the same spectrum in every circle instead of mix bags and then we will have a better idea about a good network
Try to understand what I meant..... I am using Airtel as my provider for so many years, most users are smart enough and will understand that I don't have to spoon feed every detail when I changed the sim card etc.
the best option to have while travelling international is Matrix they have a very good offer combining both data and voice and have used them, instead of paying so much to the providers in India...
Hi, a month back I recharged for my dad who was travelling to Australia with Airtel international roaming for 1199, 10 days validity which had unlimited incoming calls, 3 GB data, 100 SMS per day, 250mins local calls to India, he had gone to Malaysia then Melbourne and all through he was able to call me or I was able to call him, plus he made Whatsapp calls to my family in Australia while he was in Malaysia and when he landed in Melbourne airport, I continued calling him through out the 10 days the pack was valid, so all in all it was a good experience, I'd say go for it, you can recharge right from the Airtel app, oh and this was for prepaid recharge
All of them give data ONLY in KB's for international roaming. It's a trick they use as they are aware that no matter how soon you switch off your mobile data, some data will be consumed (1-2 mb)and they charge you heavily
I recharged international roaming pack in Vodafone. But in Mexico it's not working at all. Please do share the list of countries they provide the service if you have any idea
Ranjit sir, i dont know what are the issues with your jio mobile settings or you got the recharge but inter. Got the recharge of 1101 rs lacal and calls to INDIA @ 2RS MIN data data with 2rs per 10 kb here i am connected with M1 (star hub)
The only thing I learned from this video is the pricing model of Jio could have been better. I would as a consumer advise Jio to use this video as a learning cause the 1100 IR package does not make sense and should be removed by JIO.

Sir, still the same vodafone network network is best for international roaming.??

My experience with airtel is really bad. Vodafone is the best, using it since 5 years.
*_JIO IS ALSO GOOD BUT UNFORTUNATELY ONLY IN RURAL AREAS :)_*
who's holding the camera?
Could that be a technical error
Deepak Singhroha i also think so... No any operator will give data just in kb
Rahul Ranjan yes bhai
But technical error with both's sim is not acceptable. They both got 94kb
All of them give data ONLY in KB's for international roaming. It's a trick they use as they are aware that no matter how soon you switch off your mobile data, some data will be consumed (1-2 mb)and they charge you heavily
