yes sir i got like a 90 to 92 model one exactly like the one in the video has the briggs model 28 12.5 hp engine 40 inch cut these are some good lawn mowers i got mine from my uncle for free he was like it wont run if you can fix it you can have it i was like ok challenge accepted lol put a new starter solenoid and battery in it and it started right up

josh grissom hey Josh, i also have the same mower and had the problem, what I did was I had checked the belt that connected the engine to the transaxle, normally they can come off during mowing, if not then check out the gear shifter
Any chance you can demonstrate how to remove the deck and remove the blades for sharpening? I recently inherited a similar Murray. The blades are very dull.
That tractor is probably a 90-92 model. If you could post the model # and date of manufacture on the ID tag located on the back of the tractor, I could tell you for sure what year it is.

Rock Hard I would if I could but I've never replaced belts on a hydrostatic drive mower. There should be a video here on you tube that may help you out. Sorry I wasn't able to help.
Anthony Norwood usually just lower the deck and remove some idler pulleys or tensioners or if you need a diagram of the belt, go to a website like e replacementparts.com or partstree.com just type in your mower's model number.

I have a 1996 Manuel Murray riding mower it used to have a 12.5 hp techumush engine swapped it with a 18.5hp opposed engine

Put some 93 and some carb cleaner it will fix it it work on my Murray 12hp
check the belt first, then check the shifter linkage

This mower is a '91 or '92 a '72 would be similar except it would have round headlights & a more squared hood.

Sounds like your belt may be stretched & need replacing.
