This was recorded in 1999 at the celebration of Dr and Mrs Goodman’s 50th wedding anniversary. Present in the audience are country singers Marty Stuart,Connie Smith, Jan Howard , Barbara Mandrel, and Bill Anderson. Mrs. Dottie Rambo, the Speer Family, and Mrs. Lela “Mom” Gaither were also in attendance.

Very rare! Vestal and George singing together. George said that when he woke up in the hospital. To his surprise Vestal was standing at his bedside. Vestal was a very good hearted woman.

YOUR almost right, Vestel and George have been good friends for alot of years. She got him to quit drinking and got him saved. I was one of the bus drivers for 12 years that shuttled the possum around the country. He was a good boss and very generous when he wasn't drunk. R.I.P. Boss.

My grandmother's favorite song. I can see her now doing laundry in her ringer type washing machine singing this and raising her eyes towards heaven. I can also remember getting my arm pulled into the ringer of that washing machine.

I believe I could listen to this woman sing gospel all day.
I was a big Vestal fan. My friend for a Christmas gift bought me tickets to her concert in Lancaster PA, her husband already passed. The concert was in January a few weeks after Christmas. But Vestal went home the week between Christmas and New Year so I never did get to hear her?
She was my all time favorite... I saw the Gaithers in Hershey PA and I was sitting down on the floor seats. The Goodman's came out to go on stage, I turned around smiled at Vestal and got a peck on the cheek and a squeeze on the shoulder? A few years later after her husband died she was doing programs herself and for a Christmas gift my friend bought me a ticket for just a few weeks away, Mid January? But Vestal heard the Angel Band between Christmas and New Years and I never heard her. I was even going to buy her a dozen long stem yellow roses to give to her after the show, but I never had thar chance?

Im so glad to know George & our Lord & Savior got together...luv him singing with Vestal. I used to go to a church down from where i lived & Vestal & at the time called the Happy Goodmans, came frequently...she & they were wonderful. She sang as right to our Lord, every time. I read Vestal lead George back to Jesus...& Nancy lead him too of course. We r all glad George is saved.

This was one of my Mama's favorite songs to listen to. She went home to be with the Lord October 12th of this year and not a day has went by that I haven't listened to some version of this song! But this version is my go-to because it has Vestal in it! I know that God walks the dark hills because my hills have never been darker than they are right now! But shouting times are just ahead! Can't wait to leave this world and tell my kindred good morning!!! AMEN!

I saw her once a long time ago at Christ Church in Nashville. My daughter recognized her voice from Veggie Tales. Sweet woman, the Happy Goodmans were a good group too.

I remember was I was a child watching Vestal Goodman and the Happy Goodman Family on the Gospel Singing Jubilee every Sunday morning before my parents and I went to church. I was always blessed by her singing and I was saddened when she passed away. But I know she is singing for God right now and I know my parents are enjoying the show.
