    These skates really do fit different for real. I’m a rec. skater who’s yet to still found the perfect skate fit.
    This is my skate history…
    First ever recommend fit in a particular skate was the reebok white k pump in sz 9ee. I have wide feet so i guess the store rep. had simply just recommended a wider fit. Lace bite killed me in these skates.
    I then looked at bauer supremes because of my wide feet. Next skate i got was the supremes 140. This time i’d gotten the suitable stiffness but even in a 9d in supremes, the skate wasn’t my proper fit but at the time i wasn’t thinking about all of this.. just going on what my 1st ever fitment recommendation was.
    Next, i went over to vapors simply because of the way they looked. In my mind, i wanted to collect all, if not most of the vapor x#.# skates series.
    Bought the x1.0, x2.0 but i really wanted the x3.0s at that time. I did found the x3.0 later in life in a sz 8.5d… …. … game changer. They do hurt my left foot, because as i mentioned, i have weird feet. My left foot is .5 longer than my right but my right is wider than my left. The vapors x3.0 in a ee would’ve been perfect. So with that knowledge i decided to try jetspeeds, but personally comparing jetspeeds to vapors, i think jetspeeds are cut .5 inches longer than vapors. 🤷🏾‍♂️
    I then purchased an smu skate based on the jetspeed model in a sz 9 wide, felt comfy but something told me i could’ve went more snug. Too much volume because my forefoot kept lifting to the top of the skate for support. I sent them back. Next skate was another smu in a sz 8.5 wide.. still felt like i could’ve went more snug. I should mentioned that i always felt a kind of pinching feeling on my left foot on the pinky toe in my vapor x3.0 sz 8.5d and in all the cmm skates i’d tried at that point, including a tacks as590. Now….
    When i had tried on the xf 90s and 80s in store…
    Smh... The Fit. Is 7:50.. when i slid the problem foot inside the skate, i had this smile on “😏” but picture the emoji looking down for like 30 secs. The store rep. helping me out sounded muffled and far away like he was on an island like “how’s the fit.. ?” I was smiling from the ear to ear to like 😊 “…they feel great” i was even able to go down .5 inch more. Initially I was laughing at the hype over the 652 tacks reviews but after revisiting the mighty ducks 2, nostalgia hit me and i had to hop on the train. 😅😅
    I picked up the 652 in a sz 8. Perfect fit 👌🏾 now i don’t even think i wanna rebuy those smu jetspeeds anymore because i know the new jetspeeds coming out are gonna get the new toe cap treatment too. Im gonna go ahead and call em the ft8 series. 🙂

    Hope the new liners are more durable. As an average skilled skating 46 year old beer leaguer, my 100k Pro liners are tearing in multiple spots. My 100k Pros are fantastic skates, but skating once or twice a week tops for the last year and half, i'd have never expected to see my liners having tears and holes in them with minimal use.

    thank you for the detailed review. This wasn't covered - is the height of both boots the same or FT6 is taller?

  • @DimitriBecker
    @DimitriBecker 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Boot height is same, right? And also same pitch (angle), givin mainly by XS holder. Same stiffness, the boot width is given by fit system. So the real skating difference will be... more heel-lock in XF? That's not much to justify 2 different skate lines. The upgrade with toe-cup inner "bumples" removing sounds great!!! And more forefoot volume is Top!

    My old Tacks (9070s) started to break down but didn't have the money to buy new so I ended up getting a second hand pair of Vapor 3X Pros. I feel like I am skating better in the 3X Pros so the questions are:
    As I understand the skating style is different Tacks to Vapors, where Vapors are more akin to Jetspeed. So if I go back to CCM would I be better getting Jetspeed?
    Do you think the difference is more related to the fact that at the time of the 3X Pros coming out they were top of the line where the 9070s were always a mid level skate?
    The 2nd hand skates are an interim solution until I can afford new skates, what range do you think would be better to look at as the next skate?
    Thanks

    • @jeffrey9037
      @jeffrey9037 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most likely jetspeed at a Standard or maybe Tapered fit. If you went Tacks I would definitely recommend the taper fit option. The standard width on the tacks skate is already pretty wide, especially if you’re coming from a vapor skate in a fit 1.

I have choosen 8,5 but after time as I was wearing them I felt pain in the toe. the boots looks like small, but every skates which I tried were 8,5 no smaller. According to him the profile feels alittle looser in the heel at speed so coming from a zuperior xs that makes sense i guess. Says he kept his accelateration and agility and turning felt good. He"ll put them thru the paces this week at practice , but so far they are a winner. Been really happy with Ccm's overall package these last few years esp since the one piece boot and step steel came on line. Liners have held up great too comparatively. This is the point they are missing. I had RBK skates that I payed $300 for, that were baked once, blade rockered and I skated 3 times a week, tier 1 hockey for years on those skates and loved playing hockey.
      Those skates finally blew up after 20 years of skating, went to get new skates and returned the first pair of CCM jet speeds I bought, and now I’m skating in a CCM tack that’s ok but still not as good as my basic RBK skates.
      The greatest hockey player of all time didn’t have all this nonsense in his skates, and is called the great one.
      I’m never playing in the NHL and I need an engineering degree to figure out how to buy a skate.
      Give me a $400 skate with old tuuk and rockered blade and I bet I can outplay most guys with all these new technology skates.
      None of my friends are willing to let go of their old skates because of the unnecessary complexity of these new skates.
      Make a video for basic entry level skates, it’s not hard.
