I can't thank you enough for this beautiful hat . I'm one of five sisters , one of which is getting chemo and radiation therapy starting next week . I've made this beautiful hat for my sister and have decided to make one for each of us . My hope is to have the five of us with our matching hats in a family photo . God bless
Hi Jackie, My prayers are with your sister for an effective treatment. I love that you and your sisters are united in your support. I have four younger sisters myself and we are also very close. There is something about sisterhood - nothing quite like that. Wishing her a very quick and speedy recovery and extra strength to annihilate those bad cancer cells. Thinking of you all, Rhondda
I made this hat and I love it. I plan on doing several in different colors for cancer patients. They will feel pretty in it too. Thank you for this video. It is very well spoken.
Great design. A little tricky to get the hang of the 2dc and 3dc clusters. I did stick with it though. My only stumble is the hat is much too large. If you would please provide me with your recommended alterations. I have a few in mind but I’d rather hear from you first. Thanks.
Hi Viki, The hat is crocheted with Red Heart Soft which is a lighter medium weight yarn - if you are using a different kind of yarn it may be heavier which would make your gauge different and the hat a lot larger. I don't have this pattern written up for heavier yarn at this time. I would suggest trying to reach the gauge listed in the pattern: oombawkadesigncrochet.com/2014/06/i-feel-pretty-womens-crochet-hat.html
I think I might have some broken links! I'm very sorry! Here's the link to my newsletter sign up form oombawkadesigncrochet.com/crochet-newsletter all the best, Rhondda
Hi I love the hat and easy to make. I am a beginner in crochet and looking for a summer cotton hat as I am undergoing chemotherapy at the moment, and summer is round the corner. What kind of cotton yarn or what other summerish yarn to use. Also if there should be any amendments to the pattern to come out with the same lovely hat. Thank you very much and await your help.
Hi Suha, I'm sorry to hear you need to have chemotherapy. The yarn I used for that hat is a lighter Medium Weight Yarn - I think a Light Weight / DK Weight Cotton might work but because cotton works up a bit differently than acrylic yarns it may not work with the pattern. Cotton does not have much stretch.
I would try 3 chs and sl st tightly to create a ring. I recommend closing that finished ring tightly with your remaining yarn ends after you complete Rnd 1.
Hi, this is a lovely pattern, thanks for sharing it with us. I want to make this using a G 4.0mm crochet hook and size 3 cotton yarn. How many stitches shall I increase to have the same sized hat as yours? The person I'm making this for will be wearing it around the house, hence the thinner yarn. Thanks.
Hi :) I apologize but in order to determine this information I would need to rewrite the pattern completely using a different gauge (based on the new yarn and hook combination). I do not have this information available. Wishing you the best, Rhondda
I have questions, what size hook? Why don't you show a picture of the finished product in the beginning so we know what we are making and if we want to do this project?
5 mm (H) and the photo of the hat is available as the cover image for the video. I've also included the link in the description on TH-cam to the free pattern on my blog (which is printable). Hope this helps, Rhondda
Simple to follow video. Lovely pattern! Great instructions. Thank-you!

Your non use of chains to join are instrumental in making the hat look so neat. You art a talented crocheter.
Thank you Cindy :) I'm happy you like the different joining method :)

darks color, hard to see the stitches but thank you
What size hook
5 mm (H)
Can’t make a magic circle
How many chains 4-6
Would that work?

how can i make this hat a tad smaller..its too big for me,i guess i have a small head..
use a smaller crochet hook
What no double magic ring?
I posted this video before I shared my double magic ring tutorial :)
Nice hat ....the camera angle makes it a little hard to see what your doing.
